Sad tale of Peter Obi on how his Parents Killed Thier Children
The immediate past governor of Anambra told a story of his experience with sycophancy in his days in the saddle during an emotional speech at Oronto Douglas memorial Service. According to Mr Obi, He had gone on official visit to a community and the drums were rolled to welcome him. Praise singers were in abundant supply telling him he was the best thing humanity was sighting since the advent of toast bread. They poured all manner of encomia to celebrate him for the wonderful feats he had achieved as Anambra governor.
A normal governor in our degenerate culture would have soaked in all the praise, emit some noises and dole out cash to the band of sycophants. Visit ended and the media takes over the rest and do the needful.
Not Peter Obi. He had the right perception of power as an instrument not to make your head swell but to make strategic interventions in the lives of those you are privileged to lead. His conscience told him those singing his praises could not be a sincere crowd. He took a few steps not too far from the madding crowd and saw three of those guys whom Christ said have the keys to the kingdom.
In seconds they began to rain on their parents parade as the governor asked them to tell him their areas of need. The first one pointed him to the leaking roof in their community school, the second showed him the non-existent toilet and the third spoke about their broken chairs.
“I stood there looking at those kids telling me the truth while their parents were at another corner singing my praises. You sing praises so the local politicians could give you N2000 while you go home to drink dirty water from a well. You defecate in the bush just for a small token.
From that day, I decided that every Senior Prefect in all schools in the state must have my direct line so they could tell me the situation of things.”
The tragedy of it all is that except there is ethical adjustment in our society down the line, those kids would master the way of their parents down the line.

Famous Yoruba actress, Mercy Aigbe-Gentry, has revealed why her first marriage did not work in an interview with the Sunday edition of The Punch.
According to her the marriage did not work because she was young, naive and most importantly she had issues with her mother-in-law.
Mercy Aigbe said that her mother-in-law did not want her son to marry from another tribe. “I had a bad experience the first time, so I had some reservations and I just wanted to face my career, even though I loved him. I decided to put my trust in God and just go with the flow. I was happy and scared at the same time.
Then, I was young and naive. Now, I handle issues differently. Also, the major reason my first marriage failed was because my ex-husband’s mum did not want him to marry from another tribe” she said.
Mercy Aigbe went on to clear any notion that has present marriage has been controversial. “I do not think I have had any controversies since I got married. They were just misconceptions. People thought I married a married man and I was a second wife. What they did not know or care to know was that he was already a divorcee when we met” she said.
In April 2013, there were reports that
Mercy Aigbe was allegedly beaten by her husband at an event.
A few days after the couple released a YouTube video dismissing the claims.

Professor asked final year Art student to strip naked
A disgusted mother has spoken out against the requirement by her daughter’s University professor, that final year students go naked in a candlelit classroom, in front of the whole class and professor..
At the University of California, San Diego, this naked final exam is in fact a course requirement for a class in the visual arts department.
They must also perform ‘a gesture that traces, outlines or speaks about your ‘erotic self(s)’, according to the course syllabus.
The angry mother told KGTV, that the requirement is not made clear at the start of the course, and called it a ‘perversion’.
She added that the exam – during which all the students and the male professor strip naked in a candlelit classroom – made her ‘sick to her stomach’.
But professor Ricardo Dominguez insists that he has not had any complaints in the 11 years he has taught the course.
‘It’s the standard canvas for performance art and body art,’It is all very controlled… If they are uncomfortable with this gesture, they should not take the class.’ Dominguez told KGTV.

Lagos state sacks PDP Chairman Captain Tunji Shelle
The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party
seems to have extended to its Lagos State chapter
as it’s chairman, Captain Tunji Shelle, was on
Monday sacked by 34 members of the State
Working Committee.
He was immediately replaced by Kamaldeen
Olorunoje.
The committee accused Shelle of mismanaging
election campaign funds and manipulating the
party’s primaries last year which ultimately led to
the defeat of the PDP at the polls.
