Tiwa Savage Goes For Pepsi Again

Nigerian music superstar Tiwa Savage announced on Monday that she has renewed her deal with Pepsi. The expectant singer shared her news on Instagram minutes ago that she’s continued her affiliation with the popular brand.

The singer hints she’s renewed for an extra 2 years. She said “Blessing On Blessings with the Big Blue … Baby Billz is proud of mama. Another 2 years by His grace, ”

Wizkid also announced he signed an extension earlier today.



Chelsea reveal Falcao’s shirt number

The striker, who scored only four times during his season-long loan at Manchester United last term, will wear the number vacated by Fernando Torres
Chelsea have confirmed that Radamel Falcao will wear the No.9 shirt for the new season.

The Colombia international completed his loan move to Stamford Bridge earlier in July, but will join up with his new team-mates during the club’s pre-season tour of the United States later this month, after being given an extended holiday due to his participation at the Copa America.

Chelsea’s No.9 shirt was last worn by Fernando Torres before the Spaniard’s departure to AC Milan last August.

The Premier League champions have also confirmed that new signing Asmir Begovic will take Petr Cech’s No.1 shirt following the 33-year-old’s move to Arsenal.

Thibaut Courtois will keep his No.13 jersey.

Jose Mourinho’s side will face New York Red Bulls, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona during their pre-season tour of the United States, while they begin the new Premier League campaign against Swansea City at Stamford Bridge on August 8



Leicester City Appoint Claudio Ranieri As New Manager

Leicester City have appointed Claudio Ranieri as new head coach.

The Italian has signed a three-year deal at the King Power stadium and succeeds Nigel Pearson who inspired the club’s Premier League survival last season but was shown the exit door at the end of June.

“I have worked at many great clubs, in many top leagues, but since I left Chelsea I have dreamt of another chance to work in the best league in the world again,” Ranieri told the club’s official website.

“I wish to thank the owner, his son and all the executives of the club for the opportunity they are giving me. Now I’ve only one way for returning their trust – squeeze all my energies to getting the best results for the team.

The 63-year-old returns to the Premier League, eleven years after leaving Chelsea. He has coached Valencia, Parma, Juventus, Roma, Inter Milan and Monaco since then.

The ‘Tinkerman,’ as he is fondly called, led Valencia to the Spanish Cup title in 1999.

Ranieri was dismissed from his last job with the Greece national team last year

Speaking at a meeting with senior officials of Chevron led by the company’s President for Africa and Latin America, Mr. Ali Moshiri, President Buhari declared that his administration was ready to effectively address the myriad of challenges in the sector

We understand the situation in the industry and we will do our best to address the challenges affecting exploration, production and distribution of oil products in the country,’’ the President told the delegation.

Acknowledging the merits of the Amnesty Programme initiated by President Umar Yar’Adua to reduce violence in the Niger Delta region, President Buhari said that his administration will build on good aspects of the programme.

The President added that his administration will also implement other measures to enhance security in the Niger Delta and optimize investments in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

Mr. Moshiri had urged President Buhari to restore the confidence of international investors in the industry.

He identified improved security in the Niger Delta as key to increased investment in the oil and gas sector in Nigeria.

Mr. Moshiri said that Chevron which has 36.7 per cent interest in the West African Gas Pipeline Company Limited, was keen to support Nigeria’s gas sector and bring more electricity to Nigerian consumers.

Robin Van Persie Has passed A Medical At Fenerbahce

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has passed a medical at Fenerbahce, the Turkish club has confirmed.

The Netherlands international was mobbed on his arrival in Istanbul on Sunday, where he has now thrashed out details of his contract and completed a successful medical with final confirmation from the Prenier League side expected any time from now.

Fenerbahce have also confirmed that the official presentation of the 31-year-old striker will hold at the club’s Sukru Saracoglu stadium on Tuesday- opened to the general public and media.

Fener said on Thursday that they had began negotiations with United over the services of the former Arsenal striker, who has a year left in his contract.

Man United signed Van Persie from Arsenal in 2012 and he scored 26 goals to help the Red Devils win the Premier League title in his first season. Injury limited him to just 27 league matches and 10 goals last season.

He will become the second United player to join Fenerbahce this summer, after Portugal international Nani joined for £4.25m last week

Van Persie, who has scored 49 goals in 98 appearances for the Netherlands, joined Arsenal from Feyenoord in 2004 for £2.75m. He scored 132 goals in 278 appearances for the north London outfit.

The imminent sale of the Dutch striker would leave United with William Keane and Wayne Rooney as just two noticeable first-choice strikers.

United have signed Germany international Bastian Schweinsteiger, Dutch winger Memphis Depay, and Italian full-back Matteo Darmian.

Governor Ambode Of Lagos State Helps To Rescue Accident Victim

Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, came down from his vehicle around 8 this morning to assist in the rescue of an accident victim. The lady, Anukam Angela, lost control of her car and hit a median along Osborne road in Ikoyi.

Ambode, who was on his way to work, asked his convoy to stop and ordered the ambulance attached to him to take the lady, who was in a state of shock, to Lagos Island General hospital. Angela was treated for minor injuries and discharged free of charge on the order of the Governor
