What Would You Do If Your Girlfriend Confessed To You That She Was A Lesbian?

A friend of mine found himself in a quandary recently when the girl he planned on marrying confessed to him that she was a lesbian.

She said she’d been unsuccessfully trying to kick the habit for years and was introduced to it by her school mother back in secondary school.

Her honesty is really brave. She wanted the guy to know about everything and help her kick the habit.

In a press statement by his media office in Abuja, Atiku noted that the late Okoya-Thomas was a visionary and astute businessman whose contribution to Nigeria’s private sector economy will remain indelible.

“Although the late Molade Okoya-Thomas left the stage at a prime age of 79, his death nonetheless is a huge blow to the community of businessmen in Nigeria.

“He was a pioneer and a visionary.

Okoya-Thomas belonged to a generation of private sector investors who saw opportunities in making investments in the economy when it was risky to do so.”

President Goodluck Jonathan, on his part, said he received with immense sadness, news of the death of the leading entrepreneur.

He extended sincere condolence to members of Chief Okoya-Thomas’s family, as well as his friends, associates, business partners within and outside Nigeria, and the people of Lagos where he held the traditional title of Asoju-Oba.

The statement signed by the President Special Adviser (Media and Publicity), Dr. Reuben Abati recalled that Chief Okoya-Thomas will also be long remembered and honoured as a very generous philanthropist and sports enthusiast who established the popular Asoju-Oba Table Tennis Championships.

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) described Okoya as an industrialist and philanthropist who “Contributed immensely to private sector development through his various investments.”

“Okoya Thomas was a bridge builder between the public and private sector s in Lagos state. His role in the development of sports is no less remarkable,” said Muda Yusuf, LCCI Director General.

Finally, Nigerian Troops Bombard Sambisa Forest

Finally, Nigerian Troops Bombard Sambisa Forest

As part of measures to contain and quell the Boko Haram insurgency, the military has stormed the insurgents in Sambisa Forest, their notorious hideout, according to reports from the Hausa service of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

The director of defence information, Maj-Gen Chris Olukolade, told the agency that the military had been raiding the forest and other hideouts of the sect since Tuesday night.

According to the agency, the army used it war drones to level some of the Boko Haram camps in the northeast but it was not clear about the casualties on both sides. The army said that they are still committed to securing the civilian population at whatever cost.

“We are still committed in ensuring that we degrade their ability to continue their activities and eventually eliminate them,” Olukolade said.

“The mission is on. There are no allowing terrorists anywhere. As many times as they come, it will only give us the opportunity to decimate them.”

On Saturday, Chadian forces reclaimed the northeastern Nigerian town of Gamboru-Ngala after a heated battle with Boko Haram that involved a ground and air campaign. Gamboru-Ngala, about 145 kilometres east of Maiduguri, was captured by Boko Haram last year.

A soldier involved in the operation said Chadian forces were working under the African Union agreement to help Nigeria in its fight against Boko Haram.

Information made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday indicate that troops of the Nigerian Army under directive to invade Sambisa forest in Borno State with a view to end the years of Boko Haram insurgency, have started bombarding the fringes of the forest near Adamawa state.

Sources close to the area have confirmed that aerial bombardment had commenced yesterday.

A soldier serving with the 7 Division, Nigeria Army, Maiduguri confirmed this development to Leadership even as he begged not to be quoted in this report.

According to him, “special forces have been mobilised from different part of the country, especially the 81 battalion, to Yola over the weekend and the operation starts today (Monday).

“What people may have heard or seen today may not be unconnected with the operation. They have to do the bombardment of the forest starting from the fringes before the artillery troops would begin to advance. But be rest assured that before the end of this week the forest as well as many communities under the control of Boko Haram would be reclaimed”.

The soldier said himself and most of his colleagues were happy with the resolution of the United Nations for agreeing to constitute an international joint task force to deal with the Boko Haram.

Hoodlums Strangle, Cut Off Woman’s Private Parts In Ketu (Pictured)

A woman has been strangled to death by yet-to-be identified persons, who also cut off her private parts.

Her corpse was abandoned on Oniyanrin Street in the Mile 12, Ketu area of Lagos State.

PUNCH Metro learnt that people living in the area discovered that there was no gunshot wound or stab injury on the body, except that she was dead and her body part cut off.

The corpse was laid in front of a shop and was covered with clothes.

A resident, Mr. Abayomi Odegbami, told our correspondent on Monday that the unidentified woman was a regular face in the community, and usually slept in one of the shops.

He added that she was last seen by residents on Saturday, adding that residents suspected that she was killed in the evening.

He said, “Nobody knows exactly what happened to her.

“We just discovered that they strangled her and cut off her private parts. We suspect that what they were really interested in was her private parts.

“This incident happened on Saturday and the corpse is already decomposing. We have been calling the emergency numbers for some time now, and they have not come around.

“Our fear is that the corpse could burst and spread disease in the area.”

He added that such incidents had become a common sight in the area, adding that a similar one was recorded last year.

“I believe it has a ritual undertone and may not be unconnected with the coming elections because a similar thing happened last year and it was a man. A part of his body was also removed while his corpse was abandoned,” he said.

After the matter was reported to policemen at the Ketu division, our correspondent learnt that emergency officials later arrived around 4pm on Monday to pick up the corpse.

A source in the area said the officials insisted on collecting money before they could evacuate the corpse from the scene.

He said, “They said they also heard about it on Saturday.

“They said we should pay them before they remove the body. Where do we get the money from?”

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident.

He, however, said it was a case of sudden and unnatural death.

He added that the victim’s private parts were not cut off as speculated by residents of the area.

He said, “It’s a case of sudden and unnatural death. No part of her body was cut off.”

Guys!!! How To Ask A Girl Out And Get A Yes (Almost) Every Time.

by Daniel Wallen

I used to be so shy that speaking to girls made me break out in a sweat. It was so bad that if I as much as opened my mouth to say, “Hi,” my vocal pitch went up several octaves. As you can imagine, this didn’t exactly help me woo the ladies (unless by “woo” you mean make them want to giggle, run away, and/or hide).

My troubles were a symptom of a common problem shared by many guys like you: I wasn’t confident in myself.

Know the feeling? Let’s give your confidence (and dating life) a helpful shove in the right direction. This ishow to ask a girl outand get a yes (almost) every time.

Ground Rules

Your Posture Should Scream Confidence

Most men guarantee a rejection before they even open their mouth because their appearance does not express confidence.

Here are some simple cues to help you remember the do’s and don’ts of posture.

Do not:

*.Stare at the ground

*.Cross your legs/arms

*.Slump your shoulders

*.Fidget

Do:

*.Keep your chin up

*.Gaze forward

*.Shoulders down and back

*.Chest high

When in doubt, think about how much space you are taking up. Is it a lot, or a little? If you’re not taking up much space, it’s possible you are curled up in a sad little ball (which just doesn’t make you look confident). Take up as much space with your body as you can to reflect that you are comfortable in your body (and this hopefully goes without saying, but keep it within reason — don’t go lying down on the ground in the middle of the bar or anything crazy!)

The Clothes Make the Man

No, you don’t have to be donned in a freshly tailored suit when you ask a girl out. But that doesn’t mean you should look like a slob either. Dress in whatever style fits your personality, but keep it classy. No wrinkled tees, dirty shoes, or other fashion disasters allowed. Don’t sweat the specifics, but whatever you do, dress like the handsome and polished fella you are.

Gauging Interest

Engage Eye Contact

If a coffeehouse cutie catches your eye, shoot a few harmless glances in her direction. Linger for a brief moment before turning your attention elsewhere, but don’t voyage beyond the five second mark unless you want to be labeled a creeper. If she returns your gaze with a smile, this is a good sign that the feeling might be mutual.

Do Not Confuse Kindness with Attraction

Just because a woman smiles at or talks to you, does not mean she wants to take your friendship to the next level, so don’t get your hopes up without good reason. Not sure if a friend likes you or not? Ask her out and if she says, “What, like a date?” reply, “Yes!” without hesitation. Confidence is sexy (and even if she says, “No,” at least you’ll know for sure).

The Approach

Keep It Simple

Don’t try to be funny and forget about impressing her. Women are attracted to men who are confident in their own skin, so bending over backwards in an attempt to “wow” a woman will probably just make her think you are trying too hard. Take a few deep breaths, think to yourself,“No big deal,”confidently walk up to her, and say, “Hi.” For bonus points, find something about her to compliment (maybe she has a neat tattoo, an expressive smile, or a witty t-shirt?).

Does Popping the Question Sound Terrifying?

If you’re worried about appearing nervous, let’s make your approach as quick-and-painless as possible. March up to her and say something like, “Hello! I know this is a bit random, but I just wanted to say you caught my eye. I’m running late for a meeting/work/class/(you get the idea), but I’d love to get your phone number if that’s okay?”

The Big Night

Don’t Take a Sporty Woman to the Opera

Did she say yes? Sweet! Let’s get ready for your date, you fine hunk of man, you. Do some homework before the Big Night arrives. Ask her about things like favorite movies, sports, musical genres, and hobbies.

This way, you can disguise your detective work as small-talk and surprise her with a perfect night out that fits her interests.

Are You Listening, Ogling, or Waiting for Your Turn to Speak?

Keep your eyes on her eyes when she speaks. I like br**sts just as much as the next guy, but resist the urge. If you show her what a classy, interesting guy you are, you’ll have more opportunities to check those out later. And REALLY listen to her! Listen actively, smiling and nodding in the appropriate places, and be ready with follow-up questions that show her how thoughtful you are. First impressions are huge, so don’t blow it!

Keep It in Your Pants

If you’re both ready to hop in bed together after the first night, I’m not gonna stop you. Different women have different comfort zones when it comes to s*x, so I can’t give you a sweeping suggestion for when s*x should become a serious consideration.

Four Candidates ‘Proposed’ for Fifa Presidency. (See List Here)

Fifa’s Ad-hoc Electoral Committee will scrutinise the proposed candidacy of Joseph S. Blatter, Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, Luis Figo and Michael van Praag before revealing the eligible candidates for the May 29 election in Zurich, Switzerland.

The world football governing body confirmed on Monday that the quartet have successfully earned the stipulated 5 national associations’ votes; hence, they have “passed the candidature dossiers to the investigatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee to carry out integrity checks within ten days.”

Fifa said in a statement: “Upon receipt of the results of the integrity checks, the Ad-hoc Electoral Committee will reconvene in order to review all of the submissions and validate their compliance with the applicable FIFA regulatory provisions.

Following this process, the Ad-hoc Electoral Committee will formally admit and declare the candidates who are eligible for the office of FIFA President.”

Blatter is Standing for a Fifth Term in the May 29 Polls.

Former Fifa diplomat and ex-France international Jerome Champagne and his compatriot David Ginola failed to attract required backing for the Fifa top job, with the former confirming earlier in the day that he had won nomination from only three national associations.

Blatter, who has been head of Fifa since 1998 is seeking for a fifth tenure.

Deadline for submission of bid for the Fifa general election elapsed last week Thursday.

Why Nigerian girls prefer to date married men - Onyeka Ibeanusi

Article written by musician and social commentator, Onyeka Ibeanusi. Read below...

This controversial topic has been a subject of regular argument without any credible answer. You may have wondered why a beautiful young, presumably intelligent girl will leave a trail of young and energetic young men running after her to pitch her tent with a married man. Someone she is fully aware belong to someone else. This phenomenon has led established female celebrities who are considered screen goddesses of some sort to end up marrying old men. Sometimes as second, third or even fourth wives. There is no need to go into details because the list is endless.

Back to the pressing issue without straying far away from the main subject matter. Why do Nigerian girls prefer married men?

Like many before me, I will try to present answers to this controversial subject. Firstly, attention must be drawn to the fact that Nigeria is a country where everything is measured by the amount in your bank account. Nigerians do not care how intelligent, hardworking or talented you are; if you are not making money, I mean enough money, then you are still a learner.

Most girls have had their fair share of heartbreak from guys and in defence have opted for married men. Some want that fun ride, with no serious commitment, emotions and energy put into making something work with a single young man. Then again, the economic state of the nation. Many girls want to meet up financially but they don't want to be seen as 'Runs girls', 'Aristos' or whatever name we call it so the married man option to them becomes a lesser evil.

A married man will do anything to get that young single girl. He will spend money without thinking and knowing that there is really no future in the relationship, will give the girl some degree of freedom. A single young man will do the opposite. By the time he starts splashing cash on you, have it in mind that you have automatically become his property and part of his future plans. He expects a lot from the girl and the girl does the same.

In the case of dating a married man; except in rare cases, the relationship is more like a contract with both parties respecting a certain boundary.

Then again, the hope of getting someone 'Serious' while having fun and enjoying the goodies from the married man is a major motivational factor. Most eligible young Nigerian men are still struggling to find their feet and any serious relationship they get into, is part of a planning strategy. Someone that will help them plan better and secure their future which will certainly obstruct the free flow of fund like the case of a married man/single girl relationship. The married man is only in it for the ride since he is already settled and is looking for extra marital fun while the girl most often is in it for the money without commitment.

So the next time you wonder why a girl will leave you for a married man, remember the above reasons.
