Since they pledged allegiance to ISIS, they haven’t made any public appearance but for the first time, Boko Haram has released new images.Unlike their previous method of releasing videos, they choose to release pictures without the presence of their leader, Shekau..This is fueling reports that, their end is imminent…The Nigerian military also claims the insurgents have run out of ammunition and now use bow and arrows.
The release of the photos came as the Nigerian military invaded their stronghold , Sambisa forest.According to report by Reuters, the military were forced to retreat after 3 vigilante members were killed by landmines..

‘The soldiers have retreated to Bama because of mines. They had been on the road but that made them vulnerable, so they moved to the bush but there are mines planted there (too),’ one soldier, who did not want to be named, revealed.’Three of our boys were killed by a landmine as we progressed into Sambisa. We’ve suspended going farther,’ Muhammad Mungonu, a member of a pro-government vigilante, told Reuters.

Newly President-elect ‘Muhammadu Buhari’ Relocates To ‘Defence House’ a Government-owned Building

President-elect Muhammadu Buhari has moved into the Defence House, a government-owned complex in Maitama, Abuja, reports say.

Buhari reportedly moved into the building on Tuesday, April 21, and is expected to use it till May 28, 2015.

The President-elect will be sworn-in on May 29, 2015 and will then relocate to the Presidential Villa after his inauguration.

The spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign organization, Garba Shehu confirmed that Buhari had indeed been working from the Defence House.

“Yes, the Defence House was handed over a few days ago after its renovation,” Shehu said.

The Defence House is one of the President’s guest houses and it is located opposite the Legacy House, which is currently serving as the campaign headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Labour Party Says APC Can’t Stop Defections

image

The Labour Party (LP) has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) doesn’t have the authority to stop defectors from coming into its party.

The LP also urged the APC to stop making dictatorial and anti-democratic pronouncements while pretending to be democratic.

The comments were made on Thursday, April 23, 2015, via a statement issued by LP National Secretary, Kayode Ajulo.

The statement reads:

“The statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of APC, Lai Mohammed, shows that the party is bereft of knowledge of rules and norms guiding party membership.”

“For the avoidance of doubt, no registered party has the power to shut its doors against Nigerians, especially a registered party. And in any case, it is rather preposterous that an APC that was cobbled out of a motley array of parties, including defectors from PDP is now the one pretending as if it were different from PDP.”

“Instead of engaging in distractions and frivolities, the APC should pay more attention to how to fulfill its campaign promises.”

APC National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed had earlier told aspiring defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that they were no longer welcome into the APC.

The APC has witnessed a mass influx into its party following its resounding victory in the recently held general elections

Striking Workers Invade House Of Assembly In Akwa Ibom State

Striking workers in Akwa Ibom have blocked the entrance to the State House of Assembly following a disagreement with the state government regarding salaries.

The workers embarked on a three-day warning strike in Uyo, the state capital, on Thursday, April 23, 2015.

The trouble was said to have started after the government refused to honour an agreement it had reached with the workers’ union on the payment of salaries according to the new consolidated structure.

The state employees, numbering more than 100, brandished various obejcts and prevented visitors from gaining access to the complex.

The State Chairman of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, Kufre-Abasi Aderi told journalists that the union workers had decided to embark on the strike following the failure of the government to abide by the 21-day ultimatum it was given.

“Consequent upon this, the entire staff of the state House of Assembly, after due consultation, unanimously declared a three-day warning strike from yesterday,” Aderi said.

He said further that the workers would go on an indefinite strike if the government refused to meet their demands after the warning.

Qatar are showing that they are ready to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup by unveiling a stunning design of a fifth stadium.

The designs of four other stadiums-in Khor, Al Wakrah, The Aspire Zone and Qatar Foundation- have been revealed so far.

The 2022 World Cup has been shifted to hold in November/December because of the hot climate conditions in most of Qatar during the summer when the World normally holds.

Despite the change of schedule, authorities have revealed that the 40,000-seater ground is fitted with air conditioning for the comfort of players and fans.

Fans in the stands will sit in a comfortable 24-28 degrees Celsius, while paths and walkways leading to the stadium will also be cooled.

The Al Rayyan Stadium’s design was produced by UK-based architecture firms Ramboll and Pattern.

Al Rayyan will hold matches up to the quarter-final stage of the 2022 tournament.

The new stadium, set to be completed in the early months of 2019.

“Unveiling the design of Al Rayyan stadium is another important step forward in our preparations to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup,” Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary General of the Supreme Committee, said.

“We will continue to work tirelessly as our vision for the tournament takes shape on the ground.
