Quilox Nite Club Releases Official Statement on MI Abaga's Saga: TILB Exclusive

I just received an E-mail from Quilox on the recent happenings regarding rapper MI.

Please find the statement below:

The recent tweets by Rapper MI has come to our attention and we found it necessary to address the issue.

Quilox had a contract with Live&Unplugged on 28th February between 10pm-12am. Live&Unplugged contracted M.I as their artist for the night.

At 12am on the said day, M.I was still performing and majority of our customers were complaining and demanding the DJ as we had other events planned for the night. In the process, some customers left.

However, the management honoured M.I's presence by giving him an additional 30mins and informed his management that he would need to stop at exactly 12.30am. At 12.34am, he was still playing.

Our management at this point was forced to take a decision at 12.45am and let the DJ start his set for the night. The 1st song he played was M.I - Bad Belle to show no disrespect.

Again, we apologise for any inconvenience caused. Quilox however is a business that adheres to it's agreed terms of contract and respects professionalism.

We accord all clients and customers due respect irrespective of class or status. In order to resolve issues quickly we have a standard complaints procedure which involves contacting management directly or via email.

As we look forward to continue to render the best of services, we hope to avoid scenarios like this one, but in case any complaints are to be made, kindly direct them to info@clubquilox.com. We'll be sure to respond promptly.

Best regards.

Quilox Management.

Photo: So, is he Prof. Osinbajo's father or brother?

So, recently APC VP candidate Prof Osinbajo took the media back to his childhood village and home in Ogun state where the photo above was captured by an APC cameraman. The man in the photo was initially said to be Osinbajo's father (see the resemblance) but APC says that is his brother not father.

So here's why this photo is controversial. Them PDP people are trying to use the pic to their benefit. They are saying whether brother or father, why is he living in such a condition? Below is what they posted on a Pro-Jonathan Facebook page, Hope for Nigeria;

" What is the difference between someone's father and his brother, that Yemi Osibanjo will neglect them, even when he has been blessed by God as a Pastor, senior partner at SimmonsCooper Partners, a Professor, 8 years as Tinubu's Attorney General, director in Bola Tinubu's Alpha Beta Limited. How can you manage a country, when you can't take care of your relatives?"

Capital One Cup Final: Chelsea Vs Tottenham Hotspur 0 - 0 - (Live)!

Jose Mourinho returns to the stage where it all started for him as Chelsea take on Tottenham in the Capital One Cup final on Sunday, live on Nairaland grin.

The Portuguese sealed his first trophy on English soil 10 years ago when Chelsea edged an entertaining League Cup final 3-2 against Liverpool at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium.

In his second spell in charge, Mourinho has transformed the fortunes of the men from down the Kings’ Road, and success in Sunday’s final could be one of several trophies this season.

Capital One Cup final: Key battles

The Premier League leaders arrive at Wembley relatively unscathed. The Blues scored the opening goal in each match on their way to the final and are yet to trail in this year’s tournament.

Mourinho’s men are still challenging on three fronts which will certainly stretch their squad, and the Blues’ resources will be tested with pivotal midfield general Nemanja Matic missing out through suspension on Sunday.

The media furore is yet to die down following Mourinho’s comments in the aftermath of last week’s feisty affair against Burnley which saw Matic dismissed, and Spurs will be hoping their London rivals will be distracted by the continued debate over refereeing decisons.

Mauricio Pochettino endured a stuttered start to life at White Hart Lane, but the Argentine supremo has certainly turned things around, having instilled his high pressing game on his new side.

Spurs have the highest tackle success rate in the Premier League, despite having made 10 more tackles than any other side. Several players have eulogised over their added fitness levels, and it is reaping rewards.

Despite competing in the Europa League and reaching Sunday’s final, Spurs are just two points off a top four spot – emphasising the strength of their squad.

Spurs battled past a determined Sheffield United side to reach Wembley having cruised through the earlier rounds, and the north Londoners will fancy their chances after coming from behind to defeat the league leaders 5-3 at White Hart Lane in the last meeting between the teams

Goals could well be on the agenda at Wembley too. Only one of the last 11 League Cup finals has seen fewer than three goals scored (Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur in 2009), and the last league meeting between these two certainly indicates excitement is on the way.

Team news

Mauricio Pochettino says Spurs' busy fixture list is testing for his players

Matic is suspended and will sit out the first of his two-match suspension after his dismissal for his reaction to a tackle by Burnley's Ashley Barnes last weekend, while John Obi Mikel (knee) remains out, so Ramires is likely to start in midfield.

Mourinho has decisions to make in goal, with Thibaut Courtois likely to be selected ahead of Petr Cech, and in central defence, with Kurt Zouma and Gary Cahill competing to start alongside John Terry.

Tottenham have no fresh injury worries.

Pochettino made seven alterations for Thursday's Europa League tie at Fiorentina, starting the likes of Harry Kane, Andros Townsend and Kyle Walker from the bench with the Wembley finale in mind.

The Spurs head coach has to choose whether to start Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm in goal, while captain Younes Kaboul, Emmanuel Adebayor and Etienne Capoue will be sweating on their place in the squad after being left in London for the last-32 tie.

Opta facts

Both Chelsea and Tottenham are looking to secure their fifth League Cup success. Only two sides have managed to achieve this – Liverpool (eight League Cups) and Aston Villa (five).

Chelsea’s last two League Cup final victories came under Jose Mourinho in 2005 and 2007. All three of Mourinho’s domestic final appearances as Chelsea boss have ended with the Blues lifting the trophy (FA Cup in 2006/07).

Chelsea have lost two of their three previous meetings against Spurs at Wembley, both by a 2-1 scoreline (1967 FA Cup final and 2008 League Cup final). They did however beat them 5-1 there in the 2012 FA Cup semi-final.

Harry Kane has been involved in more of Spurs’ goals in this competition than any other player so far (four, scoring three and assisting another).

Spurs’ 5-3 win over Chelsea in January ended a run of 10 games against the Blues without a win (D5 L5).

Petr Cech, John Terry and Didier Drogba played in both the 2005 and 2007 finals under Mourinho, with Drogba scoring in both (once in 2005, twice in 2007). The Ivorian also scored Chelsea’s goal in defeat to Tottenham in 2008.

One of the girls from popular 90s group, Brownstone, has died

Remember popular 90's song 'If You Love Me..Say It? Well, Charmayne "Maxee" Maxwell, was one of the members of that popular R&B group called Brownstone. She died yesterday Feb. 28th. No word yet on what led to her death but some urban sites are reporting suicide. She was in her 40s. May her soul rest in peace, amen.

Meet The 3 Lucky Sisters Who Survived UNIJOS Bomb Blast (Photo)

Amina, Hauwa and Aishat Mudi (three sisters) who survived the blast narrate their experience

For Amina Sani Mudi, a 19-year-old 100-level student of Medicine at the University of Jos, it was unbelievable that she escaped the terror.

She said, “I had just finished my Chemistry paper, which I had from 3pm to 6pm and it was raining. As I walked to the gate of the university, I called my sisters who were at the School of Forestry to buy one of the JME recommended books. I walked down and joined them as they were already waiting for me in front of Bauchi Park. We stood and were waiting for a tricycle to take us home. As we stood waiting for a tricycle the next thing we heard was a loud explosion. Initially, I thought it was thunder because it was still drizzling. But somebody shouted, ‘bomb, bomb,’ and we ran to a nearby pharmacy for safety. I saw a girl whose hands were mutilated and she was calling her father. We saw pieces of human flesh all around the place. The thought on my mind was just to run for safety.”

She added amid tears: “If you say you are a true Muslim, no religion, even Christianity, preaches that anybody should kill another. I want to appeal to the terrorists to stop because God does not sanction killing.”

I didn’t know we were wounded — Hauwa

Hauwa Sani Mudi, 21, is the eldest of the sisters. She holds a diploma certificate. According to her, when the bomb exploded, she thought that it was from a nearby transformer. “I thought that it was an explosion from a transformer until we heard somebody shouting, ‘bomb, bomb.’ I ran with my sisters to a nearby pharmacy because we were told that the soldiers could start shooting and we tried to contact our father. We did not even know that we were wounded.”

The youngest of the sisters, Aisha, said she was afraid and could not explain what was going on as the bombs exploded. With bated breath, she stated, ‘’I am thankful to God for sparing our lives. He is a good God.’’

I could have lost three of them in a day — Father

Their father, Mr. Sani Mudi, is a politician and a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance. He was full of appreciation to God for sparing the lives of his three daughters.

An elated Mudi told SUNDAY PUNCH, “I was in far away Bauchi when they tried to reach me, but I could not pick the call because I was delivering a lecture. When I finished, I called them back and they told me what happened. I had to rush back to take care of them. I give glory to God for sparing their lives — I could have lost three of them in a day and that would have been a major disaster.’’

Presidential Committee On Defence Visits Innoson For Local Weapons Production

Presidential committee on defence visits Innoson

From DAVID ONWUCHEKWA, Nnewi

Members of the Presidential committee on the review of Nigerian defence policy yesterday visited Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) Company, Nnewi, Anambra State to inspect facilities at the vehicle plant and see how the defence sector in the country could benefit from the company.

The visiting committee chaired by Major General A. Adewuyi had Professor Isaac Olawale Albert as the team leader. He told Daily Sun that the basic reason for the visit was for the committee to see the facilities available at the company and see the extent to which the defence policy could draw some lessons.

Prof Albert said the idea was for Nigeria to begin to look inwards for the procurement of some military hard and soft wares “ how we can procure our vehicles, how do we procure our armoured vehicles locally, how do we manufacture some of the things we need in the defence industry. That is what brought us to Nnewi.”

Professor Albert explained that what the presidential committee had seen at the factory site suggested to them that without doubt, IVM had the capacity to supply the Nigerian military with many of its requirements in terms of military vehicles.

“We saw at the factory, pick-up vans that can be used by the police, army, air force, navy, customs and immigration. We also saw buses that can be used to convey officers and men.

“So, I think it is a very useful visit and when we get back to Abuja we are going to write a report that will actually show the capacity of this company to assist the defence industry in Nigeria,” Prof Albert promised.

He said the review excercise covered all the security agencies, adding that what the committee had seen at Innoson would form a critical element of the new defence policy.

“Our observation is that Nigeria can produce her own armoured vehicles for carrying out operations. The Chief Executive Officer of Innoson Group, Chief (Dr.) Innocent Chukwuma would come to Abuja to address a larger gathering of the defence policy makers on his capability and ingenuity.

“This is what we need in this country if we must be self-sufficient in diverse areas. In addition to manufacturing for Nigeria and doing the country proud, Innoson generates employment, Prof Albert concluded.”

He described Chief Chukwuma as a national asset.

Earlier, Chief Chukwuma had told the presidential committee that he was already designing military vehicles that would be as rugged as others produced elsewhere, that the IVM had the capability to manufacture armoured vehicles if given the specification. He said the company only needed support by government and Nigerians. He declared that there was no vehicle IVM could not design and produce for African environment.

Help! His Neighbour Oppresses Him With His Generator

Can someone tell me who to report my neighbour to. His generator is right behind my flat while he stays upstairs. He does not put off the gen until some mins to 12 am while as early as 4am the generator is on again whenever there is power outage. The gen is so noisy that my family has to wait for him to turn it off before we are able to go in to sleep at night. When he turns it on in the morning, we have to move to the living room to avoid the noise.

Our landlord does not stay with us and all efforts to resolve this have proved abortive as the said neighbour doesn't appear reasonable. As I type this , the gen is on.

Your contributions will be appreciated.

:( A Letter From An Unborn Child :(

Hello Mother.

Well I know it sounds strange and impossible, but its true. It is me and I am writing to you. How are you? And my grandparents? Is my little aunty, Lily, still ill? Don't be surprised I know all about them, I can actually hear a whole lot from here and really can't wait to join you all out there.

I know you also wonder what it feels like in here. Well, its actually warm, dark and slimy, very slimy, but I like it here. It is quite cozy and comfortable.

Mum, as much as I would love to discuss more about your environs and mine, there are far greater issues we need to talk about.

First of all, I overheard the discussions you had with my father and I am aware he denies and hates my existence. I am also aware of the fact that he no longer wants you because of me and that he has left town (probably because of me too).

I do not know what wrong I have done to him or why he hates me that much. I don't even really know him, neither does he, so why? Why deny me? Why did he leave town? Why did he hit you when you told him about me?

Mum, I guess I should let you know that every action carried out by your body affects me. Your cries did, so did your sleepless nights. I too lay awake, wishing I could touch you, comfort you and tell you that it is all going to be fine. That you don't really need him cause I would love you even more than he did and stand by you no matter what.

Secondly Mum, I also know about the visit to Doctor John. I heard everything. I know I don't really know much about the "grin and C" the doctor kept repeating, but your insistent laments and cries of, "I don't want this child", said it all. You don't want me too. You probably hate and despise me. But why? What have I done? Am I evil? Am I really that much of a curse?

Mummy, I don't know what I will be, a male or female, but I can assure you that I will be good. I will try as much as everything to make you happy, to put a never-ending smile on your face, to give you all the love you need and deserve. Just give me a chance. Please Mum, don't hate me, do not tear me away from you, please do not go to that doctor's place next week Tuesday! Don't end it all even before I have begun. Mum, I don't want to die.

Well, your happiness matters to me and if after all I have said you still decide to go to Doctor John's, I won't hate you for it. I will understand it's something you really needed to do, I won't fight it. Just know that I love u very much and would have loved to be with you, to grow up with you, to take care of you, to touch you, to take walks with you, to see you smile, to listen to your lullaby, to feel your never-ending kisses on my forehead....

I love you mummy. Give me a chance to prove it. I will have to say goodbye for now but hope not forever. Love you. Baby kisses.

Yours lovingly,

Your unborn child.
