Things That Can Distract You During Church Services

Many believers attend church services with expectations. Unfortunately not everyone goes back being blessed; some would return empty-handed, not because they are sinners, but for the fact that they are not actually present at the service even though they occupy space with their fulness.

There are certain practices that distract us from concentrating fully especially during Sunday services which consequently rob us of divine encounter and visitation, true fellowship, vital and spiritual information and blessings. Its no surprise that some people would not remember the Sermon they heard once they step out of the church. Why? Because they never listened.

Some of the things that often distract us during Sunday services are-

1. Getting to church at late hours/minutes- you have already lost touch with a thing or two. You wouldn't be late for an appointment with your country's president, let us honour and respect God.

2. Sitting at back seats- you will be less distracted if you sit at the front.

3. Opening your eyes during worship and prayers- the less you see with your physical eyes, the more you concentrate during worship and prayers

4. Greeting during service- it is better done after church service except there is a period alloted for it

.

5. Gisting during service- very bad habit. whatever anyone has to tell you should wait till final blessing.

6. Having your mobile phone on- calls and messages can take you out of the church at wrong moments or take your spirit out of the church. Always switch it off completely

7. Using electronic gadgets in place of hard copy of the Bible- you may be tempted to do more than reading the scripture. Use your Bible and not Bible app on your gadgets in church.

8. Carrying children- I do not mean babies here. Some parents are fond of this. You can do this only if there is no children class in the church. If there is children auditorium, let your child also go there.

9. Wearing clothings and shoes that are not moderate and convenient- this is not a joking matter at all. I have had such experience wearing a very tight shoe to the church. It was really a hell and I couldn't concentrate, always adjusting and readjusting...

10. Too much looking- if there is a word like 'lookertive' we can use it to refer to some believers. Some will look at the members of the congregation from head to toe, roll by roll before shifting to the alter to examine the ministers. You may find yourself doing this unconsciously. Determine to only be looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

God bless you.

Opinion Polls Won’t Help APC – Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has said the opinion polls won’t help the All Progressives Congress, saying the party is suffering from “Acquired Self-deceit Syndrome.”

The governor argued that it was a deceit taken too far for anyone to list Ekiti as part of States to be won by the APC in the Saturday’s presidential election.

He urged Nigerians to disregard the “orchestrated opinion polls” being published since Saturday in some newspapers, adding that, “Fake opinion polls won’t assist the APC, the way it did not assist the party in the June 21, 2014 Ekiti governorship election.”

Fayose, according to a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, insisted that President Goodluck Jonathan would win the Saturday election, no matter

how hard the APC try in their game of deceit and falsehood.

“When I saw the publications yesterday and today, I just laughed because I wondered how people can be so happy deceiving themselves.

“When you are telling yourself that Buhari will win in Ekiti, it shows that you are suffering from Acquired Self-deceit Syndrome which is even more deadly than ebola disease.

“That’s the same way they deceived themselves with orchestrated opinion polls before the Ekiti election, and up till now, they are still dazed by the 16 – 0 defeat.

“Funny enough, one of the newspapers that published the orchestrated opinion polls described Ido-Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State as a ‘sleepy town’ thinking that Ido-Osi was a town.”

Fayose urged the APC to “stop lying and face the reality of a lost election because President Jonathan will win convincingly.”

He also described claim by the APC that there was “a plan to freeze the accounts of companies, individuals and organisations believed to be financing the party, with the ultimate objective of crippling the party so it won’t be able to sustain its activities, like paying its agents on Election Day and other logistics,” as a face saving tactic by the party

Man Kills Daughter’s Lover, Connives With DPO To Bury Corpse At Night - Photo

GRAPHIC PHOTO

A man named, Elewana Godwin of River Basin Authority, 8 Miles Calabar has been accused of shooting a 22 year old boy, Douglas Ojugbo on March 10, 2015, for allegedly sulking his daughter.

Some neigbours who were physically terrified and only managed to talk to CrossRiverWatch about the incident, after begging not to be named said, Mr. Elewana is a very dangerous man and that they have seen Douglas on a few occasions coming to check on his daughter and that they have seen the daughter accompanying Douglas when he is leaving.

One of the respondents said they are aware that “the girl’s father had warned the small boy not to come near the daughter again. That is what we were made to understand but the two of them could not leave themselves and we hear that it is because of that that the man decided to take that horrible action.

“On that fateful evening, we saw the man running after the boy who was panting and running but the man caught up with him around the basin authority gate there and shot him with a gun. After shooting him, he dragged him into his car and drove off. All of us were running for our dear lives because like I said that man is dangerous and everyone around know him for that.”

CrossRiverWatch gathered that Mr. Elewana shot Douglas in the arm and later gave him another shot in the leg and allowed the boy to bleed to death in his car after bundling him into the car and drove the corpse to the Federal Housing Police station in Calabar.

Authorities in the Federal Housing Police Station in Calabar were also not willing to talk to CrossRiverWatch as the issue is said to have shaken the police personnel in the station terribly. A senior police officer in the station told our reporter privately that they cannot say exactly what transpired between the DPO and Mr. Elewana when the DPO ordered that the corpse of 22 year old Douglas which was driven into the station by Mr. Elewana around to 5pm, be buried in a hurry by 8pm at Goldie Cemetry without any autopsy or investigation and without veryfying the parents of the deceased.

When a CrossRiverWatch source contacted the Divisional Police Officer, DPO of Federal Housing Police Station, Supol Mike Ezenwerem, he was audibly trembling on the phone and after mummbling a few words, ended the call.

It was on the March 12, 2015, after frantic search by parents and family members that Douglas parents got wind that their son had been shot and driven to the Federal Housing Police Station. On getting to the police station, the berieved parents were not only shocked to hear their son’s corpse has been buried without their consent, the DPO also coerced the father into signing an undertaking not to let anybody hear what happened nor make any complaint to any authority whatsoever.

But the bereaved father, Mr. Oga Augustine Ojugbo, a lawyer with Kanu G. Agabi & Associates, said he later found that absurd and has now petitioned the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 6, Calabar and the National Human Rights Commission to investigate the cause of his son’s death and bring those who killed the son to justice.

In his petition written, a copy of which was also obtained by CrossRiverWatch, Barrister Ojugbo refuted claims that the son was having an amorphous relationship with Mr. Elewana’s daughter. He said the son had sold his mini laptop to Mr. Elewana’s daughter who made part payment and it was the balance the son went to collect when he met his untimely death.

“The late Mr. Douglas Oga Augustine Ojugbo is my son, he is 22 years old. Sometimes this year, my son sold his used mini laptop to the daughter of Mr. Elewana Godwin who leaves with him at his River Basin Authority home. Mr. Elewana’s daughter (name is unknown to me at the moment), made a part payment of the agreed sum leaving balance.

“My son was about leaving when Mr. Elewana’s daughter cornered him and asked him to come on the 10th of March and collect the balance of his money. On that faithful day, 10th of March, 2015 my son went to Mr. Elewana’s house hoping to see his daughter as they agreed but unfortunately he saw Mr. Elewana.

“Mr. Elewana upon sighting Douglas, my son ran into his room and fetched his gun, late Douglas my son upon sighting Mr. Elewana with a gun took to his heels to save his life. However, Mr. Elewana having made up his mind to kill my son, pursued him until he caught up with late Douglas at the gate of Basin Authority, a distance of a kilometer from his house where he shot my son first on the leg as a result of which the late Douglas fell down and to accomplish his goal, Mr. Elewana shot him the second time on the arm to make sure that my son is dead.

“Furthermore, Mr. Elewana haven accomplished his goal bundled the body of the late Douglas into his car and took same to the Divisional Police Officer, DPO Federal Housing Police station. Mr. Elewana Godwin conspired with the DPO Federal Housing Police station, Calabar Supol Mike Ezenwenrem to get rid of the body of Mr. Douglas in order to conceal his death. In furtherance of this agreement the Divisional Police Officer Federal Housing police station and Mr. Elewana hurriedly went and buried the body of the late Douglas in the night of 10th March at the Goldie cemetery, Calabar. “

Barrister Ojugbo added that the action of the DPO has cast aspersions on the integrity of the police officer and left one in utter astonishment as to what must have motivated the DPO to lean towards abating such heinous crime.

“It is my opinion that this callous act of murder and hurried burial cannot be swept under the carpet in other not to allow or encourage other blood thirsty vampires’ feast on innocent souls.

“I strongly believe that the Commission is the proper body I should complain to. I therefore call on the Commission to take whatever action within the confines of the law with the view of ensuring that justice is not only done but seen to be done to my family”.

Authorities in Zone six have also commendably commenced action on the matter and the AIG has ordered that the body of Douglas be exhumed and that has been done preparatory for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.

The police in Zone 6 were also not willing to talk to the Press on the matter. An officer told a CrossRiverWatch reporter that: “You people have al the details already nah. What else do you want us to say. We don’t do our investigation in the Press. Higher police authorities have started investigation and we will continue with our work without the interference of the Press.”

The DPO of the federal housing police station has also been ordered to produce Mr. Elewana who is now on the run, latest by Monday.

Further details will be brought to you as the investigation continues.

Things A Female Should Never Do For Love

Drop out of school to marry

Never never never do that

Marriage is not the zenith of life but the beginning of a new phase.Going in without the ability to provide is not advised. This message is particularly relevant to the ones marrying men overseas,I have seen that happen, the papers come through and you abandon your education to go to Obodo Oyibo. It is a foolish thing to do,many have regretted it.A bird in hand is worth two in the bush.

Bad mouth your family to your fiancé/husband

If you have already done so,don't beat yourself up.Learn from it,marriage sometimes can be like a law court, whatever you say can be used against you when you least expect it.Apply wisdom.even if your parents hate your husband or fiancé with a passion, don't reveal the extent or relay their words verbatim. You may eventually marry him but the man will never forget how they felt about him and the painful things they said.

Share secrets of your friends with your man

There is a code of friendship that cannot be broken. If a friend for instance has confided in you with certain deep secrets that will show her in a bad light, please keep it to yourself, including certain utterances that are unwholesome, don't share.there are some things you must take to your grave.I learned this the hard way.I had a friend that was fond of talking ill of Nigerian men and I shared those stories years ago,my husband remembers it till this day and doesn't like her much for that.

Compare your situation with that of others even in light hearted humor

When you compare your household with that of others, you are basically telling the man he is not man enough.Be content with what you have and strive together towards doing better. Many young marriages go through strain especially financial strains.Be patient and hope and pray for a better tomorrow, the earnings usually increase as the years go by.

Tell your family details of your marital challenges

Very common with young marriages especially for people from a close knit family.Unless your life is in danger, shut your mouth. If you must unburden your heart, find a trusted friend, your pastor's wife,a deaconess in church, a wise auntie, anyone but your mom and siblings. They will never forget the stories you told them and will always view your husband through those prisms long after the issues have been resolved.A third party non relative is preferred.

Go sourcing monetary help for the family

Allow the man to do it.you put yourself in vulnerable positions as a female by going out to beg or borrow money for the family if such need arises.Don't take on the role of a rescuer in the marriage. There are some things you should allow the man take the lead in and this is one of them.

Gay Content In Hollywood Movies And Its Effect On Nigerian People

Yes, Nigeria has passed an anti-gay bill subjecting anyone caught in a gay act to a sentence of 14yrs in prison. But how long do you think such a law will last? Not for long, with the recent trend of events. Why? Because we as a nation are getting exposed more and more to a medium that promotes LGBT(lesbians-gays-bisexuals-transgender). That medium is the products of the american movie industry, hollywood.

Ever bought an american movie in the past to discovered the subtle way in which homosexualism is promoted? Well, it's now in your face. Currently, the world is getting carried away from the trend of movies that don't span beyond 2hrs to movies that go beyond hundreds of hours, cos most viewers often wished some movies don't end, a reason why series came into the picture, getting people glued to their TVs consuming the contents of such movies.

Has anyone noticed the alarming rate at which the american movie industry promotes gay? No american movie goes by without a gay content this days. From Oz to spartacus, tyrant to tudors, game of thrones to housewives etc. Even the 2hrs movies of today hardly go without a gay content, even if it's just the mention of the word GAY e.g the INTERVIEW and 50 SHADES OF GREY.

I was cruising round town with my brother and a friend yesterday when some radio OAPs were discussing about a new TV series called EMPIRE. I wasn't interested in their discussion till my bro and his friend started talking about how interesting the series is, that they can't wait to get the 2nd season. I decided to get the season 1 on my way back. Barely 10minutes into the first episode, I was greeted by a scene showing 2 grown guys kissing and acting all emotional. The characters were jamal and his girlfriend michael.

What annoys me most is the way they( the directors of these movies) try to persuade people into thinking there's nothing wrong with the homosexualism, giving it a good promotion...like making the gay character appear as someone with a good heart but clearly misunderstood. They throw in a gay relationship that is deeply rooted in a 100% love, honesty, faithfulness and loyalty, making straight people jealous cos a 100% of everything is not obtainable in a straight relationship. The gay character in the series EMPIRE, jamal, was giving a very attractive role so as to lure unsuspecting viewers into the world of gayism. In the movie, he's from a rich family with a music empire, the most talented among them with a voice to kill any female, the gentle one, loves a kid he's not certain of it's paternity(how many guys do that?), the only one who cares about their ex-convict mum and several other qualities that can make a die-hard homophobic person go emotional and accept him for who he is. Everybody loves a guy with the above qualities. To pave way for the acceptance of homosexualism, the several hollywood directors are now moulding characters with such qualities and making them gay. Such strategy leaves viewers toning down their hate or dislike for homosexuals.

And that's where I fear for Nigeria. In the next few years, going by the rate at which we are exposed to the hollywood contents, majority of those that jubilated when the anti-gay bill was passed, will storm the streets demanding for its reversal.

Liverpool Vs Manchester United 1 - 2 - (Live)!

Those totals won't be added to this season, but second place is now certainly in the sights of both after losing just two league games between them since their December meeting in Manchester.

United won that game 3-0, and it was the first of 24 successive matches in which Brendan Rodgers has selected the 3-4-2-1 formation that's been key in turning Liverpool's season around.

Even in losing at Old Trafford, the Reds boss said that he'd seen enough "to show that we could get a result going forward". His instincts have been right to the tune of 13 results without a defeat in the Premier League since then, winning eight points more than Chelsea in the same period (although Chelsea have played one game fewer).

It's also eight more than Manchester United have gathered, although the fact that Louis van Gaal's team has won as many points as the champions-elect in that time frame is telling.

It's often said that winning games whilst not playing well is the sign of a good team, and United showed against Tottenham last weekend that they can be one, with their first win for a while that was more glorious than ground out.

We've got two in-form teams and a match that could play a big part in one or the other missing out on a Champions League place next season. It's the game of the weekend.

Where Are Our Virgins Today?

During the days of my mothers and grandmothers, virginity was the pride of every young maiden. A priceless gift they present to their long-awaiting hubby on the night of their wedding.

Those days, couples looked forward to their honey moon with so much anticipation. Because for the bride (sometimes the groom too), it’s a new beginning of their sex lives. All the things they’ve heard in whispers would be totally put into practice. Wow! I could imagine how she would feel as she spread her innocent legs wide and watched the Almighty Anaconda slowl and ticklish penetrated her cubicle, breaking the gate that has been shielding it and then welcomes her into the ever-exciting world of sexual ecstasy.

But could the same be said of our contemporary society? Impatience and moral decadence has really stolen the virginity pride from us. Girls wouldn’t want to be told about sex, they want to experiment it themselves. While men of nowadays would do anything to lure even under-aged girls to their bed.

I was indeed very surprised when a 13-year-old JSS 2 student sent me a text asking if she is old enough to indulge in sexual acts. I asked why she wants to make sex her priority in life instead of her education - the same act she would start running away from in due time - so why on earth must she rush into it at that tender age?

I also remember those days, when men get frustrated in their attempt to see a lady’s cleavage. The women made sure they wore clothes that cover up every vital part of her body.

Lost by the beauty of her eyes, heart, character and other little places they manage to see through, they would crave to have her for keeps, so as to have the opportunity of seeing all her endowments in full the moments she becomes his wife. The eager husband-to-be would be so eager to unveil his bride and devour all she has been hiding. His impatience would make him agree to all terms and conditions.

It is totally a different ball game now. In reality women don’t wear panties; instead they tie coloured ropes round their waist. Amazingly, I have heard people say that real women don’t wear panties. How true could that be? There reason for coming to such conclusion, I can’t say, but hope your guess is not as good as mine - i.e. for easy access to their treasure islands.

You will also see ladies dressed in two-piece clothes that could easily be mistaken for a scarf. The most annoying part is that you would still see the same girls battling to draw their skirts down and in the process pushing the little cloth barely covering their boobs up and down.

They keep acting as if they were compelled to put on such scanty dresses or perhaps they didn’t know it was not their size when wearing such.

In my formative age, my bosoms were still as little as a nut when my mother kept cautioning me to stay away from boys. She told me if any man or boy came close to me or as much as touch me, then I will automatically become pregnant.

The fear worsened when I launched into womanhood with the first flow of blood. I quickly started recalling my movements in the previous days to know if I have been wrongly touched by any boy like my mum cautioned; perhaps, I had become pregnant. After while, I gathered enough courage to confide in my mum. She scared the hell out me by telling me that now my case had worsened, because not just by mere touch, but my sitting close to any boy would get me pregnant. But how can I avoid that? I schooled in a mixed secondary school. Tucked in-between four boys in a seat. So if by any chance my mum’s scary words were true, I’d be impregnated by those four boys on a daily basis because we had exchange notebooks, biro, food and what have you.

Ironically when I grew much older, I damned the consequences and ate the forbidden fruits and detected the difference between the touch of a boy and the ‘banging’ of a man. But I believe I was matured enough before I embarked on that journey.

God help our secondary school female students because sex to them is a subject better experienced before being taught. Believe it or not, some of them now know more about the latest Position and latest contraceptive. They believe virginity is no longer a virtue. Sad.

Let’s join hands together and bring back our lost moral values. Now is the jet age, the era of the ubiquitous social media and easy access to internet. And for that we are paying a great price. Right before our very eyes, our morals are dying out. What do we do?

PDP Asks Buhari To Clarify Role In Massacre Of 300 Igbo Soldiers, Civilians

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaigns Friday asked the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, to clarify his roles in the massacre of over 300 Igbo soldiers and civilians during the thirty months civil war.

This is as Buhari said that every identifiable property belonging to the Igbos living in the north were returned to its owners immediately after the civil war as a mark oneness and true reconciliation

Also the PDP Presidential Campaigns said that with the admittance of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) of the existence of controversial radio Chanji, that it has been vindicated.

Briefing news men on Friday, the spokesman of the PDP Campaigns, Femi Fani Kayode asked Buhari to answer the following questions which included his roles in the massacre of Igbo soldiers and civilians.

According to Fani Kayode, "What is the true health status of General Buhari? What is the situation concerning his certificate? Does he have it or does he not have it?

"Did he perjure himself and lie under oath when he swore to an affidavit that his certificate was with the military?

"What was his role in the killings on the night of July 29, 1966 when 300 Igbo officers, one Yoruba officer and the former Head of State, General Aguiyi-Ironsi were killed in a military coup? Was he one of those who killed one or any of those people on that night and was he involved in the butchering of the primarily Igbo army officers?

"What was his role in the terrible and tragic events that took place in parts of northern Nigeria in 1966 when over 100,000 innocent Igbo civilians were slaughtered including women and children? Is it true that he was among those who supplied arms to those who slaughtered these Igbo civilians?

"What was his role in the massacre and genocide that took place in Asaba in 1969 after the Federal forces re-captured the town of Asaba from the Biafran forces and liberated it?"

Insight: Why Nigeria's Restive Oil Region Will Only Accept Jonathan - Yahoo News

BY TIM COCKS, OTUOKE, Nigeria (Reuters) - The most impressive building in Otuoke, Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan's home town in the oil producing Niger Delta, is the multi-storey mansion complex he has built for himself and close family while in office.

A few hundred meters away, the street where he grew up is a jumble of rusting iron-roofed shacks. Down a dirt side alley, Happiness Ebi smokes fish on a charcoal barbecue, a staple in this swampy southern region.

"We haven't really seen much benefit since our brother became president, except the university," she says, referring to the shiny Federal University Otuoke, completed in 2011, that has about 1,000 students and nearly a third more staff.

"But there's no light, no water here. We're disappointed."

Yet she will vote for him again in a presidential election set for March 28. "Of course," she says, "He's our brother."

Her answer reveals why the delta, historically one of Nigeria's most marginalized regions although its oil provides three quarters of government revenue, could erupt again if Jonathan leaves office.

Otuoke, on the banks of a sand-colored river, does not feel particularly favored, although the few cars, well-clothed inhabitants and thriving petty trade show it is doing better than many places.

But having one of its own in the top job for the first time has helped pacify a region long incensed by a feeling of being left out of political power despite its oil riches.

"We have been oppressed, we have been sidelined, and we are the people feeding this country," militant leader 'Ex-General Pastor' Reuben Wilson told Reuters over a whiskey and Coke at his office in Yenagoa, capital of Jonathan's Bayelsa state.

Militants like Wilson fought for a greater share of the oil riches and fairer representation until an amnesty deal in 2009.

The deal provides militant leaders with multi-million dollar monthly payouts they are meant to share with their men. They also get lucrative government contracts. The amnesty was due to expire last year but payments were extended for fear of a backlash. Under Buhari both payments and contracts could end.

"With Goodluck as President we achieved what we are fighting for. It's our right. If they refuse us our right, by rigging the election, I don't think there will be peace," Wilson said, holding an 'appreciation award' from Miss Niger Delta 2010.

"HE WHO PAYS THE PIPER"

It is not only militants who feel it is the delta's right to field a president for another elected term despite an informal deal that power should rotate between north and south every two terms.

There is a broadly felt sense of entitlement to the oil riches that have fattened up corrupt governments but brought little to the region except environmentally catastrophic oil spills.

Nigeria's tensions are often seen as between a largely Muslim north and mostly Christian south. This contest between opposition leader Muhammadu Buhari, a Muslim northerner, and Jonathan, a southern Christian, does appear to fit that picture.

But in a nation the British carved a century ago out of peoples speaking 500 languages, rivalries are more complicated.

From the Niger Delta perspective, since independence in 1960, Nigeria has been ruled by two Christian Igbo easterners, a Middle Belt minority military ruler, two northern Fulani generals, two southwestern Yoruba rulers, a Hausa northern general, a Kanuri northeastern general and a Fulani civilian.

The only part of Nigeria that has completely missed out on this merry-go-round is the Niger Delta -- until Jonathan.

"Someone from the Niger Delta got to be president by accident, and despite it generating all the money, it is, or at least was, about as poor as you will find in any part of the country," said Antony Goldman, head of PM consulting.

Jonathan's critics say the delta benefits disproportionately from his presidency, but evidence does not stand up the claim.

The highway Yenagoa connecting to the oil hub of Port Harcourt is now so smooth traffic whizzes along it dangerously fast, but roads in other parts of Nigeria have also been fixed.

Jonathan's flagship reform policies -- power and farming -- have not hugely benefited the delta. Power privatization has yet to translate to more kilowatts on the grid anywhere, while reforms to farming, especially cutting corrupt middle men out of a state fertilizer scheme, has disproportionately benefited the north, where the vast majority of agriculture happens.

Even so, the mere fact the president is from the delta is enough for many to feel historic injustices are being righted
.

The north's parallel discontent at losing political power is in focus because of the Boko Haram Islamist insurgency that has killed thousands and destabilized Africa's top oil producer.

But if Jonathan loses an election that his delta supporters feel was not fair, or if he is pushed out by a faction within his party that opposes him -- Nigeria could well have two insurgencies on its hands.

"The bigger tribes ... feel they have the divine right to rule others," said Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, head of the Niger Delta People's Volunteer Force which pushed oil prices to record highs in 2004 with attacks and threats on the oil industry.

"Then one man from a tiny community in Ijaw comes. He's not Yoruba, Igbo, or Hausa. They can't bear it," he told Reuters in the opulent Bayelsa state government guest house.

"He who pays the piper must dictate the tune, and the delta has been paying the piper for so very long. If they make war, we can make war. We have the capacity to take what's ours.

The extent to which this is bluster will be crucial in determining how easy it will be to pacify the delta, and some analysts assume that a Buhari government would be able to buy off the ex-militants, some of whom, like Asari and Tom Polo, have become multimillionaires off government contracts.

About a month ago, the governor of Bayelsa state, Seriake Dickson, met with the militants in an effort to calm them down.

"I made it clear that the way forward is peace, and I wanted a commitment from them to keep it," he told Reuters over a lunch of peppered snails, yams and bean cakes in the capital Abuja.

"I know what their fears are, but they agreed to work with me to keep the peace. And I believe they will."

Buhari Did Not Reduce Fuel Price Despite Oil Price Fall In His Time

I would love to hear any APC supporter contradict this.

It is popular knowledge that Muhammadu Buhari's APC, have been calling for an immediate price reduction on fuel products to reflect the down scaling in global oil prices. Something he never did in his time.

Feul price changes of administration before and after him.

•Obasanjo - from 9k to 15.3k

•Shagari - from 15.3k to 20k

•Buhari - from 20k to 20k (Price remains the same)

•Babangida - from 20k to 39.5k

In the glut of 1984, oil prices slumped from around $30 to about $14 (53% drop), the Nigerian dictator (Buhari) at that time did not reduce the pump price of petrol. Thirty years later, in a similar circumstance but with a price slump of 50%, President Jonathan reduces the pump price by N10.

I just bought 10 litters for 870N.

APC stop this hypocrisy you are sharing oh.

Liverpool Vs Manchester United 0 - 1 - (Live)!

Amaechi's Deputy, Tele Ikuru Concludes Plans To Join PDP - Daily Post

The chances of the All Progressives Congress, APC, of winning the forthcoming 2015 general elections in Rivers state may have become slimmer with the latest development in the state, as reports reaching DAILY POST indicates that the deputy governor of the state, Engr. Tele Renner Ikuru have concluded plans to dump the party for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP

According sources in the state capital, Port Harcourt, Gov. Rotimi Amaechi deputy may have fallen for the overtures from the PDP to wreck APC and Amaechi chances at the elections in the state.

A source in-the-know who pleaded anonymity told DAILY POST that the Deputy Governor discovered that he may run at a loss if he remains in the APC after many years of loyalty to Governor Amaechi.

The Source accused the APC Chairman in Rivers State, Davies Ibyamu-Ikanya who is from the same Local Government with the Deputy Governor of expanding the crack after forcefully hijacking the party structure in the area.

According to the source, “The Deputy Governor has been angry since he lost the APC governorship ticket to Dakuku Peterside. To compound his woes, the party Chairman (Davies Ikanya) hijacked the party structure of Andoni from him. But His Excellency (Amaechi) has been quiet. He did not do anything about it. He is not always in the state to address issues at home.

“It was all over the media that Deputy is not happy. He has been loyal to His Excellency for the past 7 years, especially during the Governor’s travails.

“The man had to go instead of losing everything. And many more will go too. We don’t blame him. The PDP brought a better offer even after releasing so much money to him. We hope this serves as a lesson to Governor Amaechi. It is quite unfortunate,” the source said.

In the meantime, the Rivers State Deputy Governor, Tele Ikuru is expected to make his official announcement this week. Days before the Presidential election.

Engr. Tele Ikuru is from the same Constituency with the Governorship candidate of the APC, Dakuku Peterside. He is also from the same community with the National Deputy Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, who is believed to be behind this latest development.
