Aisha Buhari: Why President-Elect’s Wife May Not Be Nigeria’s Next First Lady

Aisha Buhari might not be Nigeria’s next First Lady, at least not in the modern sense of the word.

The term “First Lady” is an unofficial title for a President’s wife but in Nigeria, it has received near-official status due to the fact that funding and staff have been allocated to First Ladies since independence.

However, the Nigerian Constitution does not in any way provide for the “office” of the First Lady.

This was the reason given by President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari when he said during an interview with Daily Trust in December 2014 that there would be no such office during his regime.

The [office of] First Lady is not in the constitution, so there’s no official role for them,” Buhari said.

Mrs Buhari also expressed support for her husband’s position while speaking during the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Campaign Council in January.

“When my husband is elected as the president of this country, he will rule the country within the rule of law based on the constitution of the country,” she said.

“If the office of the first lady is constitutionally recognized, he will not tamper with it but if it is not, that’s okay. For me I will perform my duties and role as the wife of the President of Nigeria traditionally,” she added.

Muhammadu Buhari emerged winner of Nigeria’s Presidential elections on Tuesday, March 31.

He will be sworn in on Friday, May 29, 2015.

OMG!!! You Can Now Download And Print a 3D Gun Online

It is now possible to go to the internet and download a gun and then print it out and shot somebody dead. sounds strange? yeah but unfortunately, it has become a reality

In 2012, the U.S.-based group Defense Distributed disclosed plans to design a working plastic gun that could be downloaded and reproduced by anybody with a 3D printer."Defense Distributed has also designed a 3D printable AR-15 type rifle lower receiver (capable of lasting more than 650 rounds) and a 30 round M16 magazine.Soon after Defense Distributed succeeded in designing the first working blueprint to produce a plastic gun with a 3D printer in May 2013, the United States Department of State demanded that they remove the instructions from their website.

In 2013 a Texas company, Solid Concepts, demonstrated a 3D printed version of an M1911 pistol made of metal, using an industrial 3D printer.

Gun enthusiasts dreams of the day when a lethal firearm can be downloaded or copied by anyone, anywhere, as easily as downloading the latest rihanna music.. But the 27-year-old Japanese man arrested last year for allegedly owning illegal 3-D printed firearms did more than simply download and print other enthusiasts’ designs. He appears to have created some of his own.

Among the half-dozen plastic guns seized from Yoshitomo Imura’s home in Kawasaki was a revolver designed to fire six .38-caliber bullets–five more than the Liberator printed pistol that inspired Imura’s experiments. He called it the ZigZag, after its ratcheted barrel modeled on the German Mauser Zig-Zag. In a video he posted online six months ago, Imura assembles the handgun from plastic 3-D printed pieces, a few metal pins, screws and rubber bands, then test fires it with blanks.

“Freedom of armaments to all people!!” he writes in the video’s description. “A gun makes power equal!

Dad who died weeks before his son was born is photoshopped into first family photo

Sierra Sharry and Lane Smith were just about to become parents for the first time when disaster struck. Lane died in a tragic accident. In an emotional Facebook post, Sierra wrote about her partner

"Lane and I had found out we were having a baby at the beginning of 2014, and boy let me tell ya we were beyond excited. I think the thought of having a kid made Lane the happiest person in the world. We were scared as any new parents would be but ready for the adventure together. But in July last year tragedy struck. After a holiday away to see family, Lane fell and hit his head and was later pronounced dead in hospital."

"The father of my unborn child. And since that day I have felt so empty inside. A part of me will forever be missing. I loved that man more than life itself."

Months later, with her baby boy Taos now a toddler, she went for a photoshoot so she could have some mother and son photos.

Kayli, the friend who took the photos, was so moved by her tragic story that she went the extra mile.

Using old photos of Lane, she retrofitted him into the snap to give the heartbroken mother the family photo she has always wanted but thought was never possible.

The photo moved Sierra to tears, and since it was shared on Facebook it has gone viral with nearly 250,000 likes.

She added: "Thanks to Kayli I now have a picture of my little family. It brought me to tears as I know it will many of y'all. This is how I picture us. Taos and I living our lives the best we can with Lane ALWAYS watching over our shoulder.

He is watching out for his little boy better than anyone and I know he's got to be so proud.

"I love my little family so much and I'm proud to be the mother to Lane's little boy."

Igbo Group Urges Buhari To Fulfill His Promise To South East

Abuja – A pro-democracy group, the Igbo Conversational Group (ICG), has urged the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, to fulfill promises he made to the Igbo people during his campaign.

The call is contained in a statement issued on Friday by the President of the group, Chief Ikedi Ohakim.

The statement quoted Ohakim as demanding for the completion of ongoing developmental projects and establishment of new ones in the South East zone.

According to him, there is need to ensure the immediate take-off of the Aba Integrated Power Project to boost economic activities in the region.

He appealed to the incoming administration to review the 85 per cent of property belonging to Igbo but classified as abandoned property in Rivers 45 years ago.

He said “the Igbo wants the incoming administration to look into this matter as top priority.’’

The president of the group also urged Buhari to ensure the revitalisation of the proposed sea port in Osemoto in Imo.

He said “Osemoto and Oseakwa in Anambra have the deepest natural harbour in the country which will offer naval and marine transport platforms if developed.

“They will serve as strategic hub for oil and gas industry and inland dry docking to promote trade and create employment.

“Above all, it will open the igbo land to the sea.’’

Ohakim also called for the completion of the Otuocha-Mmiata-Kogi 150-kilometer road, as well as rehabilitation of all federal roads in the South East.

According to him, the road, when completed, will knock off three hours from every journey from the south east to Abuja.

He restated the need for the President-Elect to address issues of additional states in the South East, adding that “happily, it is one of the issues the President-Elect promised to look into during his interaction with Ndi Igbo in Onitsha.’’

He commended President Goodluck Jonathan for his patriotism in deepening democracy in the country, saying Nigerians would remember him for steadfastly upholding democratic ethics and allowing political space for every player.

“President Jonathan came to power when the nation was in a big quagmire.

“And it is to his credit that the country had a smooth transition following the sudden demise of his predecessor, late President Umaru Yar’ Adua.

“We salute him for his courage in conceding defeat and ask him to remain available for the country to tap from his experience.’’ (NAN)

Amaechi stated this on arrival at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, where he was warmly welcomed by State APC chieftains and Party stalwarts.

Amaechi thanked Nigerians and APC Party faithful for their collective efforts in voting General Buhari and assured that Buhari will run a transparent and accountable government that will move the nation to greater heights.

Amaechi enjoined Nigerians and APC Party faithful to join him in congratulating the winner of the 2015 Presidential election, General Muhamadu Buhari and his running mate, Professor Osibanjo on their victory at the polls.

Senator Magnus Abe, representing Rivers South East Senatorial District, thanked the Almighty God for making it possible for Nigerians to know the truth in the face of wickedness, political high handedness and impunity by the military and the police against APC supporters in the state.

According to him, “We don’t have anything to say than to tell Governor Amaechi thank you for making it possible for us to identify with the All Progressives Congress, that won the Presidential elections.

The victory for Buhari has made us proud, Rivers people will now be free from wickedness, political high handedness and impunity”, Senator Abe said.

Also speaking the APC state party chairman, Davies Ikanya said: “This Victory of Buhari is the Glory of God and it means Nigerians are beginning to have a say in governance. I congratulate General Buhari and the Director General, Governor Amaechi for putting the vision of the Party into reality”.

Ikanya also urged Rivers people to embrace change and expect to see APC as the ruling party after May 29th, 2015.

“This time around, we have seen that Rivers people and Nigerians are yearning for change and Buhari’s victory is victory for Africa. It is also a good example for other African leaders to emulate.

Nigerians are happy because they were given freedom to exercise their legitimacy for a credible government. This is a step forward to move the country to achieve desired results”, Ikanya said.

On his part, former Caretaker Committee Chairman of Obio/Akpor local government area, Dr. Lawrence Chukwu said the victory of Buhari should be regarded as the collective will of Nigerians for change in the nation’s democracy.

Chukwu also commended Governor Amaechi for steering the initiative to effect change in the nation’s democracy.

According to him, “I commend Governor Amaechi who initiated the move to effect change for the future of Nigeria. I am proud to say, agents of change were truly in charge of the process”, Chukwu said.

How Technology And Social Media Helped Buhari To Win

Alexis Akwagyiram

ABUJA (Reuters) - Technology played a decisive role in helping Muhammadu Buhari become the first Nigerian to oust a sitting president at the ballot box, from social media campaigning to biometric machines preventing the widespread rigging that marred past polls.

Three decades after seizing power in a military coup, part of the 72-year-old former general's appeal to the electorate in Africa’s biggest economy lay in his successful rebranding as a man who embraced democracy.

A good deal of that rebranding happened online, where campaigning from smartphones can build momentum at low cost.

"The digital strategy has been a lifeline of the campaign for young people. We needed to create an image that enabled people to connect with him," Adebola Williams, the 29-year-old whose Lagos-based communications company, StateCraft, orchestrated Buhari's digital drive, told Reuters.

Even the doubters conceded that they had seen campaign material online.

"There were a lot of discussions on their Facebook pages, but I am not sure that really influenced me," said Endurance Dauda, 24, a student in the northern city of Kaduna, who said many of her friends are not online.

While not everyone was convinced the online methods swung their vote, the potential is hard to argue with.

Africa’s most populous nation - with 170 million inhabitants - has some of the world's highest levels of mobile phone ownership. There are 127 million mobile phone subscriptions in Nigeria, the International Telecommunications Union says.

"In the last four years it has become a lot easier and cheaper to get the Internet on your phone. It isn't exclusive anymore," Williams said, arguing that going online is no longer a luxury, despite most Nigerians living on less than $2 a day.

Defeated president Goodluck Jonathan's team also used social media, including YouTube videos highlighting Buhari’s autocratic past and facets of Jonathan’s life. In one, he was seen exercising with a personal trainer and playing squash.

But possibly more significant than the online campaigning was the use of biometric machines to identify voters, which prevented the ballot-box stuffing and multiple voting that characterised past polls.

"The card reader played a constructive role in deterring individuals who, in the past, have tampered with the electoral process either through ballot stuffing or tampering with the election results," said Dr Christopher Fomunyoh, of the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs, a non-governmental organization that promotes democracy.

As a result, this election was judged Nigeria's freest and fairest election yet.

"Fortune favors the bold. Deciding to go hi-tech was absolutely the right thing to do," U.S. Ambassador James Entwistle said after the poll.

Once the biometric aspect of election technology had been proven, there was only way for the victor to celebrate.

When Buhari got the call from Jonathan conceding defeat, Williams used his phone to capture the moment and share the image on Twitter and Instagram.

Why We Gave Jonathan Nearly 1 Million Votes — Akpabio

Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, on Friday, urged Nigerians to emulate the statesmanlike nature of President Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat for peace to reign in Nigeria.

Mr. Akpabio said this in his state-wide broadcast to mark 2015 Easter celebration in Uyo.

He said the lesson of Easter was recently brought home to Nigerians by the statesmanlike action of the President.

According to him, the President’s decision to concede defeat even before the announcement of final result is in the best interest of Nigeria and Nigerians.

He added that, “by this act, Mr. President has resurrected morality, good conscience, patriotism and goodwill for our country”.

The governor said President Jonathan had kept his vow that his ambition was not worth anybody’s blood.

On the April 11 governorship election, Mr. Akpabio urged the electorate to demonstrate their commitment to unity for a greater Akwa Ibom State.

He said, “the true Akwa Ibom spirit of loyalty was tested in the presidential election and we acquitted ourselves creditably.

“We were with the President right down to the finishing line and proud that we turned in close to a million votes for the President.

“We are proud of the President’s performance and proud of our support for him.

“This nation now knows that we have no place in this blessed land of promise for the Judas Iscariots.’’

He said those seeking to divide the state with politics needed to remember that Christ said it was through loving one another that one could prove himself a true disciple.

The governor urged Nigerians to adhere to the lessons of Easter, including self-sacrifices for the unity and progress of the state and Nigeria.

Mr. Akpabio also urged Nigerians, particularly Akwa Ibom people, to remain united in spite of the outcome of the past elections and to face the forthcoming elections with great hope.

“As we go out to vote on April 11, let us remember that what is sauce for the goose is also sauce for the gander.

“Let us show love to our brothers and sisters from Eket Senatorial District by giving them the opportunity to taste what we from Uyo and Ikot Ekpene Senatorial Districts have tasted already,” he said.”

What Nigerians Expect From President-Elect, Buhari

He should bring back our refineries – Adekunle Adebesin, civil servant

The President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, will liberate Nigerians from our sufferings. Some Nigerians believe he should probe most of the corrupt leaders, but I think he should concentrate on restructuring the system, especially the executive arm of government. He should see to the construction of refineries and resuscitate abandoned refineries.

Buhari’s military experience is a plus for the country – Stephen Adenayajo, printer

Gen. Buhari will transform the country in the next four years. His experience as a military ruler is a plus in the present situation of the country, especially in combating Boko Haram. We want a safe country where we can sleep with our two eyes closed.

Provide for the aged — Babatunde Afonboye, mechanic

The new administration should invest in our agricultural sector. Many farmers are old and suffering in many villages. I also want him to work on making provisions for the aged. President Jonathan led administration favored only the rich.

He should implement confab report – Semiu Adetayo, a civil servant

Gen. Muhammadu Buhari is a man of integrity. He is the best man for the country at this point in time. However, the first thing expected of him is to learn from the mistakes of President Goodluck Jonathan.

The President had good intentions for the masses but was negatively influenced by the people around him. The President-elect should implement the reports from the National Confab immediately he assumes office. Also, reducing pump price will also better the economy. I believe General Buhari will take Nigeria to greater heights.

He should provide employment – Bunmi Aregbesola, businessman

The President-elect once said he was concerned about the scandalous level of unemployment of millions of young Nigerians, the poor security situation in the country, corruption and the impunity in government. All these should be his priorities when he assumes office.

He should probe the past administration – Bukky Adeeyo, an actress

He is the best man for the job. Besides, he has capable hands to work with him. I just hope he doesn’t follow the wrong steps of his predecessors. Also, he should not go after the past administrations but work on how to serve his fatherland better.

We need a new Nigeria – Johnson Oyenekan, marketing representative

Nigerians were yearning for change. Also, I learned he is one of the ex-leaders who rejected the N3million monthly offer by the Jonathan administration. We want a new Nigeria, where an average Nigerian can afford three square meal a day.

Please bring back Chibok girls – Christiana Ewah, secretary

The President-elect should look into the rise of dollars. This has affected our economy even in the global market. Many politicians also used the Chibok girls to campaign for votes. Going by his antecedent as a disciplined soldier, I believe he is the kind of leader Nigeria needs now.

He should build affordable houses – Adekunle Wasiu, petrol attendant

I want the President-elect to work on the legacy of Alhaji Lateef Jakande by building affordable houses for the masses. Many families in Nigeria sleep in a room apartment. Again, he should work on our private schools because the cost of sending our kids to private schools is alarming.

Set up a team of economists – Bukola Kajero, estate consultant

The President elect has what it takes to govern a complex country like Nigeria. Some people see him as an old man but I believe age is a number. However, he should set up a team of economists to revive our economy. He is an administrator, not an autocrat as some people perceived.

He will fulfill his promises – Mary Adufe, an actress

I am happy my dream leader won the election.

He’s the right person because he has zero tolerance for corruption. He knows the best for Nigeria. He’s a rare leader in this era and I believe he will fulfill all his promises.

Probe every corrupt leader – Ogun Fagade, businessman

He should concentrate on building more prisons, ensure maximum security in our prisons and probe every corrupt leader in the country.

Transparency and credibility should be his watchword – Barry Imafidon

Going through Gen. Muhammadu Buhari’s biography and pedigree during his military regime, he appears to be an honest man . I expect him to fight corruption to the barest minimum Transparency and creditability should be his watchword . He is an aged man and I feel he’s going to be slow in decision making. I also have a strong belief that he his going to work without Godfathers as presumed by some people.

With APC Victory; What Will Be The Fate Of Opposition Politics In Nigeria?

I read this comment on the thread below and its giving me concern about the future of Vibrancy of opposition politics in Nigeria.

What do you think?

http://ift.tt/1ES9zI2

theV0ice :

I never really took to ojuyobo (i see that name from his first tenure as gov has been dropped wink ) but I cant discountenance his politically astuteness. The man has foresight and understands politics inside out.

Tinubu will never have the impact awo had and still has on Yoruba people as awo's impact transcends politics but Nigerian politics will never forget him. He knew the power of political compromise. An attribute awo terribly lacked.

My only problem with gmb's victory is that opposition politics is dead in Nigeria. Those gifted in it have been pushed to the centre.

.

Liegeria :

This line in your comment gave you away as someone who knows the trends in Nigerian politics.

In the first republic, we were in opposition.

In the second republic, we were in opposition.

When Abiola built alliances and won, the election was canceled. We were in NADECO, also in opposition.

When OBJ was imposed on the country, we found ourselves both in power (nominally) but essentially in opposition (Alliance for Democracy).

When PDP rigged SW, it was Tinubu that built ACN, the most organised opposition political party

It was Tinubu that engineered the alliance that crystallized into APC.

Where is Orji kalu's PPA?

Where is APGA and peter Obi that used to be the face of APGA?

The real challenge now is the East has never really played a traditional opposition role. Will they rise up to the occasion and provide a vibrant opposition? can they reform PDP ? Let wait and see.

GEJ Begins Gradual Movement Out Of Aso Rock; Probes Leaked Phone Call To GMB- The Sun

President Goodluck Jonathan’s call on Tuesday March 31st, at 5.15 pm, to Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), winner of last Saturday’s presidential polls on the platform of the All Progress Congress (APC), that has been leaked to the public is being investigated.

A Presidency source who pleaded anonymity while confirming the probe, said the action has caused the seat of power serious embarrassment.

The source who was seen listening to the conversation again with some colleagues, said ‎the probe is to ascertain whether the recording was leaked from the Presidency or was made public from Buhari’s camp.

The source further disclosed that should it be confirmed that ‎it was leaked from the Presidency, those found culpable will face appropriate punishment.

“Definitely, unauthorised release of a raw recording of the President’s telephone conversation, if from our (Presidency’s) end is a security breach that cannot go without being investigated,” the source said.

Meanwhile, the first family have started moving their personal belongings out of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, following the failure of President Jonathan to win his re-election bid.

"Jonathan Is Not A Hero" – Oby Ezekwesili

Leader of the Bring Back Our Girls group and former minister of education, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili, has said that President Goodluck Jonathan does not deserve the hero tittle for accepting defeat in the just concluded presidential poll.

DAILY POST reports Jonathan, before the INEC chairman could announce the final result of last Saturday’s presidential election, had called General Buhari to congratulate him for winning the election.

Following his decision, many Nigerians have been praising the president for saving the entire nation from disaster.

However, Ezekwesili says if only Nigerians knew the extent of damage President Jonathan has done to Nigeria, they won’t hero worship him.

She took to her Twitter page on Thursday, to air her views on the recently held presidential election.

She tweeted: “When a review of President Jonathan’s administration is done, we’ll realize how much damage sycophancy did to governance. Example? Chibok Girls,” she wrote.

“A leader must be without an inordinate desire to be serenaded with ‘good news’ or their team will never let them know the true state of affairs.

“An environment that rewards sycophancy encourages team to withhold accurate ‘bad’ news (problems) from the leader while serving up ‘good news’.

” When a leader makes hero worshiping costly to those who engage in it, he/she deprives the ‘sellers’ market to set the ‘Mediocrity Benchmark.’

“A critical success factor in governance is for the leader to both in word and deed convey a culture that abhors sycophancy. No hero worshiping.”

5 Things Ladies Must Look Out For In A Man Before Marrying Him

Ladies, these 5 things are in themselves not exhaustive, but they should be foremost in your mind as you consider a man you want to spend the rest of your life with. Watch him for these. I found it interesting because I'm tired of hearing stories of emotional and financial abuse, and wife batering too. It spoils my day; so I thought to share what I found with my nairaland family. The original article was first written by Pastor Dunamis Tunde Okunowo of Kisses and Hugs club. Enjoy reading.

1. Look for the fear of God.

The first thing to look for is the fear of God. This is very important. I say fear of God because the word “born-again” has been misused. Everybody is born again today. People become born again momentarily to get what they want. People give their lives to Jesus in order to get a wife and after they do, they collect their lives back from Jesus! It is no longer safe to assume somebody is God’s choice because you met him or her in church! It goes beyond that. This is why you don’t fall in love with somebody you met two hours ago. You cannot fall in love with somebody you do not know. Love comes with knowledge.

2. Look for focus.

Focus is important. What is the man focusing on in life? What is his vision in life? Who does he want to become? What is the person’s idea of marriage? Is the person serving God presently? What is he doing now? What does he intend to do later? What are his plans?

3. Look for consistency.

Consistency has to with his habits and patterns. Does he have consistent spiritual habits? Who are his friends? How does he spend his free times? In the bar?

4. Look for utterances.

His words are representations of the intents of his heart, …for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. (Matthew 12:34b KJV). His words would reveal his heart. Ask a lot of questions and listen to what he says. This is why courtship is important. Courtship period is not the time to get physical sexually, it is not an alignment of the bodies, it is an alignment of the minds. So before you give your consent, ask questions. What is his concept of serving God? You need to know all of these so that you will not walk down the aisle and then three months after, you want to run up the aisle and out of the marriage. That will not be your portion, but you need to “shine you eye” well! Stop falling in love helplessly, without thinking! Don’t be desperate to the extent that anything that comes goes. When you are desperate, men can sense it, and they may take advantage of that. You don’t have any business in the bed of man that you met few days back! How will you keep your respect and dignity intact like that? What will your relationship with God become? You are not a philanthropist, so stop donating your body and opening your legs generously for whoever wants! Nay!

5. Look for submission.

Is this man submissive? Who can you report him to when there are issues? Does he have a pastor or mentor you can report him to? He is not supposed to be the alpha and the omega that you cannot report. Is he accountable? To who? You know, I have counseled a few married people, and the issues are so serious and it is really very sad, when I ask the wife, “who does your husband respect?” and they go like, “Pastor, he respects nobody, not even his parents!” Now, that is not a good spot to be… Listen to me single ladies; never commit your life to somebody who has no authority figures over his life! When you do that, you have eliminated any external options when it comes to conflict resolution. It means the issue must be solved only by his wisdom and standard and that wisdom can be outright foolishness. That standard can be very warped. So, be wise! Too many ladies have been abused in their matrimonial home, with the husband brazenly beating up the wife and even bringing another woman into the house, and the wife looks on helplessly, because NOBODY can talk to him! It can really be unfortunate! When you are at that point, your only way out is to pray…and ask God to have mercy on the foolish choice that has been made. The mercy of God can turn things around. God bless you.

Militant Group Claims Responsibility For Delta Pipeline Explosion

An Urhobo militant group, Urhobo Gbagbako, on Friday claimed responsibility for Thursday night’s bombing of the NPDC Oil pipelines at Ighrenene, Afiesere and Ekiugbo communities in Delta State.

The group, which made the claims in an email sent to some reporters, said it is also planning to shut down all the oil fields in Urhobo and Isoko areas.

The email signed by the group’s s spokesperson, Priest Omodjuvwu, said the bombing of the Ekiugbo/Ighrenene/Afiesere was to draw attention to the neglect of ex-militants of Urhobo extraction.

It said the Urhobo had been sidelined in the pipelines protection contracts offered to ex-militants from other ethnic groups and they now want to show that they too had the capacity to cause trouble if ignored.

The group said it had sent warning signals to the NPDC and the federal government on the pipeline surveillance contracts, which had excluded the Urhobo.

Urhobo Gbagbako however dissociated itself from media reports about a 14-day ultimatum given to the federal government and NPDC on the oil pipeline surveillance contracts.

“We have now resumed attack on the NPDC pipeline facilities on a massive scale, which scale of bombings shall be unprecedented,” the email said.

The group said the attacks will continue until the Urhobo got what rightly belonged to them.

It explained that Urhobo Gbagbako Group is a militia group of all ex-militants, youths, women and elders of Urhobo origin.

She Asked Him To Carry Her Hand Bag, He Refused And She Fired Him

I was employed as an architect in a medium size architectural firm, my boss happens to be a lady.

I hitched a ride in her car after a meeting with a client on site, It's was even my first time of hitching a ride in her car, as I have always eschewed it, on getting to the office she asked me to carry her hand bag along, but I turned deaf ear to her request and swiftly went straight to the office, but she came to my office and gave me a sullen glare.

I thought the malice won't last long, but unfortunately for me, she fired me this morning for a no cogent reason.

I'm downcast and bewildered, she's just privilege to be the manager because it's her dad firm, she's my contemporary, and I was on the verge of supervising a gigantic project.

Was I wrong?

Police narrates how Kano INEC resident officer and his family died in fire incident, rules out foul play

Kano state Police Commissioner, Mr Ibrahim Idris has narrated how Alhaji Munkaila Abdullahi, the Kano state INEC resident officer, his wife & 2 daughters were killed in a fire incident at the family's home this morning.

Speaking with newsmen this afternoon, CP Ibrahim Idris said preliminary investigation carried out by the police suggests that the fire might have been as a be as a result of an electrical fault. He ruled out foul play. What he said after the cut...

"Today (Friday) at about 4:30 a.m., the police men on guard duty at the official residence of the Resident Electoral Commissioner Kano state, Alhaji Munkaila Abdullahi located at No. 2 Sir Kashim Ibrahim Road, Nassarawa GRA, Kano, observed a fire emanating from split A/C in the sitting room. They made several attempt to get in touch with him including banging the doors and breaking some of the toilets windows but he was not responding. The police men and local guards broke the door leading to the sitting room, and discovered the sitting room was engulfed by fire and smoke.

They then went to the side of the door leading to the masters bedroom, broke the door and entered; they were not inside the bed room and the Police then went to the bathroom, inside the master bedroom and found the REC, his wife and his two daughters unconscious on the floor. They quickly removed them to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital where the Doctor confirmed them dead. The Doctor confirmed the family died from inhalation of hot and black smoke. Meanwhile, the detectives attached to SCID sealed the scene and together with the fire service men have commenced thorough investigation into the fire incident,” he said

Billionaire Bola Shagaya To Host Aisha Buhari To Lavish Dinner

The billionaire business woman was trending on twitter last

night and I went to find out why. Apparently, there are

reports that she's planning to host a lavish dinner for the

incoming First Lady, Aisha Buhari. Bola Shagaya is known to

be friends with all government in power. She was close

friends with Mrs Babangida, Mrs Abacha, Mrs Abubakar, late

Mrs Stella Obasanjo, Mrs Jonathan and now if this report is

true, it looks like she's about to enter Mrs Buhari. She's one

of the richest women in Africa and recently acquired a

private jet. Not a crime to be friends with First Lady though.

We all hustle in different ways.. :-)

Igbo Man Of The Year Sets Agenda For Buhari

The president of Good Governance Initiative (GGI) and Igbo Man of the Year 2015, Mr Festus Mbisiogu has praised the statesmanship of President Goodluck Jonathan, who peacefully conceded defeat and congratulated his Opponent and President elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, charging him on the provision of steady power supply for the people.

In a news conference after the elections, Mbisiogu, a Nigerian businessman based in Guangzhou, China, who has been fighting for improved electricity supply in Nigeria, commended the president for his efforts in the power sector and delivering on his promise to ensure credible elections.

“In August-September 2013, when the unbundling of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) was completed and 10 Distribution Companies (DISCOs) and five Generation Companies (GENCOs) effectively took over the defunct PHCN, some of us heaved a sigh of relief.

“It was very thoughtful on the part of President Goodluck Jonathan who heeded the cries of many of us in unbundling that government parastatal, which had been bogged down by officialdom, bureaucracy and inefficiency.”

Citing cases of incidents caused by epileptic power supply, Mbisiogu said that it is unimaginable that at this time in the history of our great country, we are losing some of our brightest, our generation to avoidable accidents caused by poor electricity.

“It is the urge to avoid such tragic incidents that I decided to champion the course of steady power supply in the country three years ago when I formed Good Governance Initiative (GGI) a Non-Governmental Organisation dedicated to achieving sustainable energy in Nigeria.

“Our investigation has shown that despite the unbundling of PHCN, it has not in any way benefited the masses, rather, the investors and the government that are collecting taxes are the ones benefiting. Prolonged power outage and high electricity bills; demand for outrageous fees by staff of the company for the installation of pre-paid metres, which ordinarily should be free; compiling bills without commensurate spending by consumers are some of the attendant problems facing the sector today. Apparently government failed to demand a timeline of performance from the investors. This was what the GGI advocated earlier,” Mbisiogu said.

Congratulating the president-elect, General Buhari for his victory in the elections, Mbisiogu, who was instrumental in the establishment of the Nigerian Consulate in Guangzhou, China, said that he should remain focused in delivering on his major campaign promises of fighting corruption and ensuring a steady power supply for Nigerians.

“We congratulate General Mohamad Buhari whom Nigerians have called to bring the change that we clamour. By his antecedents, we know he can deliver on his two major campaign promises of eradicating corruption and giving the people a steady power supply. We hereby call on him to consolidate on the effort of President Jonathan on the power sector,” he said, adding that in this age and time, Nigeria with the largest economy in Africa should not depend on generator for power supply.”

The Thrill of Thresome Sex in Marriage

I must confess that the first time I heard that some marital arrangements are beginning to accommodate this oddness…I did not believe it. Not until a lady wrote me a few days ago. That her ‘abroad returnee’ husband suggested they make their sex life more exciting by bringing in a female participant. This was after she had their second baby. She said that when she objected-he asked if she would rather prefer he starts cheating on her-with someone out there. She also claimed that he gave her the liberty to bring in whoever she prefers. Grudgingly-she gave in. That was the genesis of the ‘three some’ that is now threatening to tear her marriage apart. She said that on the occasions that the said lady (whom they normally pay off after every session) joined them…that her husband reluctantly touched her because he concentrated more on the other lady. And these days, he hardly touches her when they are alone!

Another male friend(whose line of business has to do with ‘women’s things’) said that a good number of his supposed married female clients have actually approached him with requests such as helping them to find a willing participant-in a ‘three some’ arrangement. These women take it upon themselves to look for a willing participant (usually young girls that are in for the money)-rather than risk their husbands making out (elsewhere) with someone they don’t know. I also hear there are exclusive social settings that are purely for couples that want to sample each other’s ‘better half’…this, they call ‘swinging.’

I have since been asking ‘must any woman reduce herself to this level (to an obviously weird man) in order to stay married?’ It is only a man with a questionable state of mind that will even dare think along this line. What are women letting themselves put up with-in the name of marriage? What else could be more degrading? Which ‘self respecting’ woman will put up with a mere suggestion of such ‘sickness?’

For goodness sake, there is little or no hope for any marriage whose sanctity is thrown to the dogs. A marriage should observe certain limits (e.g. keeping the marriage bed undefiled) based on the ‘values’ of those involved. If ‘love making’ is the way that I have come to understand it, I wonder what is there to enjoy when one can’t even focus on who he is in the act with. What joy is there to derive from prancing from one ‘body’ to another? Which woman is happy foregoing her ‘pleasure’ to watch her husband pound another in her presence? Why would anybody stick to such outright degradation?

If a man decides you are no longer good enough for him in the bedroom (despite your best efforts), please refuse to be part of any ‘sick’ idea he comes up with. Refusing to be dragged lower than you wish to go is not arrogance; it is self-respect and no self-respecting woman will let herself tolerate this sick arrangement-in the name of marriage.

When you give wings to every weird imagination that crosses your mind…you will remain slave to every ‘unwholesome thought.’ To live a happy life, you must maintain a good deal of ‘restraint.’ One should cultivate some values too; you should be able to say ‘no’ to certain weirdness.

It’s abhorable that young girls (I hear they now do it for more money from their patrons) who wish to live respectable lives- someday, allow themselves to be reduced in this manner but for a married woman to stick same is…oddness is an understatement!

French President invites Buhari to Paris for bilateral talks

President of France, Francois Hollande has invited President-elect, Gen. Buhari to Paris for bilateral talks on expansion of trade between France and Nigeria and the fight against Boko Haram.

A statement by the French Embassy in Abuja said President Hollande had put a call to Gen. Buhari yesterday April 2nd, congratulating him on his success at the polls and reiterated France's support to Nigeria in the fight against Boko Haram. The statement reads in part;

“The French head of state assured the President-elect of France’s wish to continue the close relationship that existed with his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan and reiterated France’s support for Nigeria and its neighbors in their efforts to combat the terrorist sect Boko Haram."

The Nigerian Army has found Buhari's certificate?

According to an APC leader, Sen. Tokunbo Afikuyomi, the Nigerian Army has found the certificate of Gen. Buhari. The former Senator shared this new development on his twitter handle today.

The certificate of Gen. Buhari generated a lot of controversy after the Nigerian Army came out to say they didn't have it. The Nigerian Army has however not confirmed that they've found the certificate.
