English Premier League Now Most Profitable League in Europe

A new report has revealed that the English Premier League is now the most profitable league in Europe ahead of the Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1.

According to a new report by Deloitte’s annual review of football finance, the Premier League’s 20 clubs earned a combined income of $5 billion with an operating profits of $946m.

The Premier League’s rise in financial power has been helped by income from TV rights.

This is the first time the EPL has over taken the Bundesliga whose clubs’ income are almost three times lesser than that of their English counterparts.

The La Liga, Ligue 1 and Serie A all suffered losses in the year under review.

“The size of the Premier League prize grows ever greater and this year again demonstrates that the desire to reach the league,” Dan Jones, a partner in Deloitte’s sports business division said.

10 Full Body Exercises You Can Do Anywhere, Anytime

Obviously, location or not having good roads is no longer a valid reason to gain weight and ignore your fitness goals.

Bodyweight exercises are a simple, effective way to improve balance, flexibility, and strength without machinery or extra equipment.

Who needs a gym when there’s the living room floor?

When it involves full body workout, we’ve got you covered, so you can watch your body parts get stronger with body resistance alone.

1. Inchworm

Stand up tall with the legs straight, and do like Lil’ Jon and let those fingertips hit the floor. Keeping the legs straight but not locked, slowly lower the torso toward the floor, and then walk the hands forward. Once in a push-up position, start taking tiny steps so the feet meet the hands. Continue bugging out for 4-6 reps.

2. Tuck Jump

Standing with the knees slightly bent, jump up as high as possible and bring the knees in toward the chest while extending the arms straight out. Land with the knees slightly bent and quickly jump again!

3. Bear Crawl

Starting on the hands and knees, rise up onto the toes, tighten the core, and slowly reach forward with the right arm and right knee, followed by the left side. Continue the crawl for 8-10 reps.

4. Mountain Climber

Starting on your hands and knees, bring the left foot forward directly under the chest while straightening the right leg. Keeping the hands on the ground and core tight, jump and switch legs. The left leg should now be extended behind the body with the right knee forward.

5. Plyometric Push-Up

Start on a well-padded surface and complete a traditional push-up. Then, in an explosive motion, push up hard enough to come off the floor (and hang ten for a second!). Once back on solid ground, immediately head into the next repetition.

6. Stair Climb with Bicep Curl

Turn those stairs into a cardio machine, no magic wand necessary. Grab some dumbbells (or household objects!) and briskly walk up and down the stairway while simultaneously doing bicep curls to work the whole body.

7. Prone Walkout

Beginning on all fours with the core engaged, slowly walk the hands forward, staying on the toes but not moving them forward. Next, gradually walk the hands backwards to the starting position, maintain stability and balance.

8. Burpees

One of the most effective full-body exercises around, this one starts out in a low squat position with hands on the floor. Next, kick the feet back to a push-up position, complete one push-up, then immediately return the feet to the squat position. Leap up as high as possible before squatting and moving back into the push-up portion of the show.

9. Plank

Lie face down with forearms on the floor and hands clasped. Extend the legs behind the body and rise up on the toes. Keeping the back straight, tighten the core and hold the position for 30-60 seconds or as long as you can hang.

10. Plank-to-Push-Up

Starting in a plank position, place down one hand at a time to lift up into a push-up position, with the back straight and the core engaged. Then move one arm at a time back into the plank position (forearms on the ground). Repeat, alternating the arm that makes the first move.

Enough Is Enough, Prostitution Should Be Legalized – Prostitutes Protest

Abuja prostitutes protest incessant arrest by officials , Some prostitutes in Abuja have taken to the streets to protest against indiscriminate arrest and extortion by the law enforcement agencies.

More than 500 commercial sex workers in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, took to the streets protesting the incessant and indiscriminate arrests and extortion of their members by the FCT Special Task Team on City Cleaning and Management, reports say.

The prostitutes under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Prostitutes (NANP), expressed their anger after more than 3,000 of their members were arrested in various raids in the last
three months by the FCT officials in different parts of the capital city.
Parading the town with different placards with inscriptions like:

‘Ashewo work na work'; ‘Allow us to hustle for our daily bread'; and ‘Legalize prostitution now’, the scarlet ladies showed their dismay at the way their members are molested daily by different task forces and security operatives.

One of the ladies who said her name is Loveth, narrated their experiences to our source:

“We are Nigerians too and we only go about seeking our daily livelihood, so I see no reason why they should be harassing, arresting us and extorting money from us.
These same men are the ones who patronize us but during the day, they will be molesting us.
What crimes have we committed? Many of us are graduates who could not secure jobs, so we hustle to make ends meet. We have families and responsibilities to meet, so they should allow us to work and make money.

Many of us do not like selling ourselves for money but what can we do? We are not thieves; we are not members of the political class who steal Nigeria’s money. If the government want us to stop what we are doing, they should provide jobs for us. We are tired of the daily harassment.
Enough is enough; prostitution should be legalized in Nigeria.”

Nigerians Won’t Regret Entrusting Us With National Responsibility, Says Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday reassured Nigerians that he would do all within his powers to ensure that they would not regret voting him into office just as he said his administration was capable of fixing the nation’s problems.

Buhari made the assertion in an address he delivered to members of the Nigerian community in Republic of Niger during his visit to the country.

A copy of his speech was made available to journalists in Abuja by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.

The president told the Nigerian community that his government was just coming on board and was still in the process of setting out appropriate modalities on how to actualise its agenda of revamping Nigeria as contained in the manifesto of the All Progressives Congress.

He noted that Nigerians voted for him based on the party’s manifesto.

He, however, urged them to exercise patience because “the task of rebuilding Nigeria is an arduous one”.

The president maintained his position that to ensure accelerated development, his administration would concentrate on challenges of insecurity, near economic collapse, pervasive corruption and power shortages.

Buhari said, “I want to reassure (you) that we are going to tackle these challenges head on.

“Nigerians will not regret that they have entrusted national responsibility to us.

“We must not succumb to hopelessness and defeatism. We can fix our problems.

“However, daunting as the task to surmount these challenges may be, they are by no means insurmountable.

“There is now a national consensus that our chosen route to national development is democracy. To achieve our objectives, we must consciously work to improve the democratic system”.

Buhari also assured them that his government would be resolute in ensuring that the country regained its place of pride among the comity of nations.

He, however, said he needed the support and cooperation of all Nigerians, including those in the Diaspora, to actualise the dream.

“I want to conclude by urging you to continue to remain law-abiding and to continue to be good ambassadors of the country as we embark on the journey of rebirth, development, evolution and integration”, the President concluded.

Fresh Crisis Fuel Scarcity Looms As Marketers Demand Outstanding Payment Of N291bn Subsidy Claims

The relative normalcy enjoyed in the supply of petroleum products nationwide may soon be disrupted as the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association, DAPPMA, is claiming that the federal government is yet to give firm indication of when it will pay the outstanding subsidy of about N291billion

The DAPPMA in a statement by its executive secretary, Femi Adewole, in Lagos yesterday, recalled the aftermath of the Senate Committees’ meeting with major petroleum industry players, which succeeded in persuading the petroleum tanker drivers (PTD), NUPENG and NARTO to call off their strike on May 25, 2015, and resume loading of fuel from the various depots that had stock.

Depot owners and other fuel importers under the ‘petroleum subsidy scheme’, Mr. Adewole claimed, were still being owed billions of naira in unpaid subsidy reimbursement, interest on delayed payment and foreign exchange differentials.

This much, he said, was expressed to the DAPPMA and MOMAN by the former Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, in her letter to both associations, a copy of which she also released to the Senate Committees for reference.

The DAPPMA scribe lamented that the letter did not state the timeline for the re-verification exercise, which the former minister instituted on the amount she disputed and also did not state the expected date of payment that the petroleum subsidy fund (PSF) participants had been agitating for in all the meetings held with her since February 2015.

According to him, “It should be noted that this is the first time since the establishment of the petroleum subsidy fund scheme that marketers will not have ready and easy access to fuel import loans and it is also the first time that commercial banks will notify importers that based on CBN regulations, importers have attained their credit ceilings with their various banks and would have to make some refunds on the existing loans to the sector prior to being funded for petrol imports.

“Unfortunately, the expected refund to the banks is yet to be reimbursed by the federal government. Due to debts owed transporters by marketers, who have been experiencing serious financial stress due to outstanding debts owed them by the federal government as a result of petrol imports under the petroleum subsidy scheme, the PTD, NUPENG and NARTO had at various times protested non-payment of their freight charges by withdrawing their services”.

Mr. Adewole regretted that the action of the transporters had caused some persons to insinuate that marketers are blackmailers holding the nation to ransom via a strike about which they know nothing.

“The DAPPMA’s initial assertion on petrol importers and marketers who participate in the petrol subsidy scheme and are therefore entitled to subsidy reimbursement is based on the widely circulated payment list from the Federal Ministry of Finance which was published in several newspapers. The publication detailed payees and other PSF scheme participants even when there was no payment due to them and the name of Capital Oil and Gas Industries Limited was conspicuously missing”, he said.
