British Woman Weds Dog In Expensive ‘Romantic’ Wedding Ceremony – After Marriage To Man Failed.

In a rather strange turn of events, a woman has vowed against men and married her pet dog.

47 year old Amanda Rodgers from Brixton in south London was married to a man 20 years ago, but the relationship unfortunately lasted no more than a few short months, so dismayed she decided to swear against men and turn to dogs.

Amanda states that the reason she decided to wed her pet dog was because she had all the qualities that she was looking for in a life partner: “Sheba had been in my life for years, making me laugh and comforting me when I was feeling low.”

Proceedings started out in a traditional way, when Amanda got down on one knee and proposed to her pet dog, Sheba.

Though the dog could not respond, Rodgers says that she “could tell by her tail wagging that she said yes.”

More than 200 people attended the wedding which took place in Split, Croatia.

Rodgers embraced the day fully making sure that everything was to her liking, adding that: “I’d dreamed of a perfect wedding dress since I was small, I made it myself for the ceremony. The day was wonderful, more fun than the marriage. I gave her a kiss to seal the deal and then everyone threw confetti. It was a wonderful moment.

Despite it being a rather strange situation, Amanda doesn’t care what other people might think: “I know the wedding to Sheba wasn’t real in the legal sense. But was a nice way to mark what Sheba means to me. Sheba’s never unkind to me and she’s always happy.”

Boko Haram Has Not Killed Chibok Girls – President Jonathan Finally Speaks.

President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday said that the over 200 schoolgirls of Government Secondary School Chibok, Borno State, abducted by Boko Haram insurgents have not been killed.

Jonathan disclosed this while speaking this morning on an AIT programme – ‘Kakaki.’

“The good news is that the insurgents have not killed them,” he said.

Jonathan also assured that all towns currently under the control of the terrorists would be recovered by Nigerian troops before next week.

He, however, admitted that his government initially underestimated the threat posed by the terror group.

Opinion: The Ineptitude Of Nigeria's Embassies Abroad

Have you had an encounter with the embassy of Nigeria before in any part of this world? , What you are about to read is the collaborative investigation of the embassies of Nigeria in different part of the world.I think it is safe to say this is the only institution the Nigeria government funds, and it is a complete waste of resources for Nigerians in diaspora.

The responsibilities of Nigeria embassies cannot be established, what they do, i don't know.Just some people in AC buses, AC offices, and wants you to call them Daddy/Mummy. They bring no growth to Nigerians in diaspora or Nigeria as a country. I stand to be corrected on this, if you can debate that, let me have your say.

If Nigerian citizens in the UK, Russia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Ireland, Canada, Thailand, Senegal and some other countries are all complaining,I think it is safe to say, Nigerian embassies are a waste of funds. I have been able to depend on the leadership of Nigerian association committees for help rather than the Nigerian embassy : A building of educated zombies...

At different times, Nigerian embassies have done nothing to help the Nigerians abroad, rather make more difficult. In this post you are about to read, am going to analyse some Nigerian embassy and how they had frustrated Nigerians in diaspora.

Nigeria Embassy,Canada: These embassies have been in the news for the wrong reasons. They came up around 2013 on national news in Canada, when some Nigerians had gone to the embassy only to find out that the embassy was locked and appointment was canceled without prior notification. This was the same embassy that had assured people to come to Ottawa for their passport re-issuing, need not to say that people had travelled from distanced locations within Canada spending lots of cash on transporation.

The truth is that the Nigerian government is happy to fund old men and incompetent women to different embassies, but failed to equip them with the fundamental skills, including ICT. They could not even give a pop-up on their website a week to the appointement cancellation of the Nigerians or giving them a courtesy call. It is very unfortunate, if you don't have the website administrator of your website, hire someone.

The Nigerian embassy crew must know this, when you are in Rome, act like a roman. This is the 21st century, you are either in the digital age, or go back to Nigeria and shuffle paper forms. Though, a video was released to counter this report, between reasonable Nigerians, it is all lies. The embassy crew lied, they hired the Nigeria association president in Ottawa to lied (I am disappointed). I am sure Ojo Maduekwe don't know the embassy website. He was blabbing throughout the interview.

Nigeria Embassy In Dublin : If you are travelling to Dublin,Ireland or you are a Nigerian living in Dublin, please be informed that you must be extra careful about people all around you. The Nigeria embassy here just like others is just a building of old men that have no idea about their responsibility.

Do you know at least every week, 1 or more Nigerian is said to be murdered in Dublin? I am yet to read about this in any Nigerian dailies or heard the embassy trying to investigate what happened. If you pick up your phone and talk to them, the ambassador or his crew will likely tell you that the people killed are drug dealers or doing illegal business. That is the way the Nigerian embassy looks at his own citizens, if you don't tell them what you do in 2 minutes you are there, you will notice their faces looking like you are about to rob them.

Do you remember the Aisha Falode case? During her interview on Sahara Tv said that:

The Nigerian Embassy have not been much of a help to it's citizens. When I met with the ambassador of Nigeria in Dubai, i was told that my son is just number 5 of the Nigerians that died a similar death that same week.

What information have the Nigerian Embassy passed out to parents sending their kids to Dubai? When they have such information, I think they should share the news to parents that are thinking of bringing their kids to Dubai. That is one of the reasons for embassy in a country. People should know that there is a dark side in Dubai. And the glittering and beautiful building is what they want the world to see,
Aisha Falode said.

I want to get this information out and get justice for my son. I don't want to visit Dubai again, but i want to do this for Nigerian youth and let them know what is going on in Dubai.

Can you see what the ambassador just revealed to Aisha. The embassy is yet to reveal this to Nigerians, but will prefer Nigerian youths keep going and dying in Dublin.

Nigeria Embassy In Thailand: I am still trying to figure out why Nigeria has an embassy in Thailand. I just don't get it. I guess after Dublin, this place is another place Nigerians die like their lives don't matter without no proper investigations. The duty of the embassy here is not needed, and should be closed.

In a situation like Thailand, the association of Nigerians in Thailand seems to be doing a better job than the embassy, the old men/women can go home now. Go on youtube and type Nigeria embassy Thailand.

From a reliable source, the crew at the embassy are also involved in drug dealings. They are using some jobless Nigerians for their trade...We will investigate this news.

Nigeria Embassy In Turkey: Just like other embassies, the consular crew there is known for its very poor services to the Nigerian citizens. They have been accused of not discharging their duties in Turkey. Nigerian embassy in Turkey doesn't even have a website. Nigerians are not allowed inside the embassy.

Nigeria Embassy In Senegal: I came across a video in 2013, about how some Nigerians vandalized the embassy in Senegal. You can see the frustration and anger as they break down office windows, cars and many more. They had requested that their friend who is at the embassy be released by the Senegalese authority, and the deceased will be released on the embassy authority, but instead of the consular to find a day to do that, they won't and that was the result of the video.

Moreover, it is a shame that when host countries calls a Nigerian, drug addict or a fraud. Nigerians accept it and move on, but what is degrading is when your embassy where you believed you get comfort use the same name and attitude on you. The Nigerian embassies crew won't ask about how you survive, if you are a Nigerian in the embassy, you are definitely a fraud or drug smuggler.

How can you make the host country support you if your own country denies your existence. The crew travelling from Nigeria needs orientation before travelling. They shouldn't bring people that lacks knowledge of their own responsibility to the Nigerian embassy.

Nigeria Embassy In Malaysia: Since paying direct cash is one of the way of getting things done in Nigeria, the Nigeria embassy in Malaysia have been denied of this corrupt opportunities. So you will be unlucky to go to the embassy to get a new passport. You will need to pay online, that also means that the embassy will not be having his own cut.

The Nigeria embassy in Malaysia will ask you to pay double the amount of the passport fee if you find it difficult to pay online. The current price online is $106.00, that does not include VAT. But when you decided to pay cash at the embassy, the embassy would ask you to pay $250.00. The $150 is for transfer as they said someone at the embassy will need to use his card and will pay charges when paying on your behalf.

Now the funny thing about the old people at the embassy is that they play on your intelligence, and one of the things you enjoy as a writer and a lover of liars is when someone at the age of 40 is saying things you know are lies, but you enjoyed it anyways because you know a fool at the age of 40, well you can go figure.

The issue of payment is the lowest issue you are going to face, there is another issue of getting your data accurately captured. The Nigeria embassy will tell you the machine could not get your data, the same data he/she captured himself and told you to go home, because it is fine.

The embassy crew had infected the Malaysians working at the embassy because if you tell them you are a Nigerian, without saying a title like, Dr, Engineer or Professor. They will hang up on you. It happened to me 4 times, so most times, i am an engineer, so my calls could get through. When your call get through to the any of the offices, you will have no response and later the phone will be hanged up again.

After scraping their information on the internet on the internet, i was told to forward an email to their official email address. Well, i did that and no reply for another 2 months. This is the embassy representing its citizens?

Nigeria Embassy In Vietnam: This is probably the worst embassy. The embassy is a complete waste of land in Vietnam and had been of no use since it was established by Ex-president, Olusegun Obasanjo. The former president had created this embassy to grow business between the two countries when he was president, not sure if this embassy still exists, but the staff of the Nigerian embassy in Vietnam are known for always saying "We don't have information about this or that" . The staff are mostly known for sleeping or playing on Facebook.

The Nigeria embassy in Vietnam is yet to get it right and the building of the Nigeria embassy is tagged as the building of government officials that doesn't know their official responsibilities. The best way to have people answer you in Nigeria embassy is if you call them "Daddy" or "Mummy", you might be lucky if you are a lady with goody bags. If you are a man, good luck in getting it done at all.

Nigeria embassy staff have once yelled at a Nigeria for saying Good morning, he was asked to put the "Sir". This turned out to be a hot argument at the Nigeria embassy in Vietnam.

From a reliable sources, the Association of Nigerians in Vietnam had done 99.5% of what a Nigerian needs in Vietnam. The only thing you need to go and do at the embassy of Nigeria in Vietnam is stamp documents or sing the national anthem if you want to go back to school. Just like other embassies mentioned above, this embassy is another waste of Nigerian resources and also a waste of the Vietnamese land.

My Personal Verdict

Have you ever been to the Nigeria embassy in your country abroad? It is clear that the embassy crew are people that had no knowledge what it means to be an ambassador or their official responsibilities as embassy crew. They are always looking like confused individuals. They are incompetent and most times sleeping on duties

Though due to Nigerian factor, the crew at the embassies have probably bribed their way to the position or just a politcal appointees. These are bunch of incompetent individuals. What is Ojo Madueke finding at the Canadian Embassy in Canada? Some ambassadors can't even read without stuttering.

The only time you see the Nigeria embassy at their best is during Nigeria independence party, October 1st, the whole year round is just people with no official responsibilities.

Nigerians abroad are not happy with their embassies. They are pains to Nigerians, they have nothing to offer. It is better Nigeria government create some committee to check into work done by the embassies and anyone with less than 55% duties should be closed down. It is high time we start managing resources and that might be closing down some embassies, or we employ well competent people.

The embassies i had mentioned above are just a waste of Nigeria resources and have nothing to offer Nigerians in diaspora. We hope the government can look into their case.

It Is Insulting For Nigeria First Lady To Describe Buhari As Brain Dead – APC.

The APC has described as insulting the recent remarks by first lady Patience Jonathan that its presidential candidate, General Buhari is brain dead.

At a PDP Presidential rally in Kogi state on Wednesday March 3rd, the First Lady reportedly described the former Military Leader as brain dead

“Wetin him dey find again? Him dey drag with him pikin mate. Old man wey no get brain, him brain don die pata pata.”she reportedly said in pidgin English.

The APC in a statement released yesterday March 4th, described her comments as demeaning

“It is not only insulting for Mrs. Jonathan to describe Buhari as “brain-dead, it is also demeaning of her status as the President’s wife to speak in the manner with which she did.

It was discourteous and inexcusable for a wife of any President with a modicum of decency to make such a false and infantile pronouncement about the health status of another man on account of politics.

The APC Presidential Campaign Organization similarly observed that much as indecent and disgraceful as the outbursts of Mrs. Jonathan was in an attempt to pull the wool over the eyes of Nigerians about her husband’s incompetence to lead the country, it is typical of the PDP’s modus operandi to confuse Nigerians with mundane issues instead of the issues of corruption, for which her husband has achieved an unbeaten record; his appalling lack of capacity to secure life and property of citizens and a glaring incompetence in dealing with the challenges facing the country.””the statement read.

The statement also said it has observed that the first lady had in recent times continued to make inciting comments during any of the PDP women campaigns According to APC, Mrs. Jonathan had made statements “invoking violence like she did in Calabar over the weekend, when she urged the PDP supporters to stone all those canvassing for change.”.

The statement called on President Jonathan to caution his wife.

• Salt and pepper to taste

• Blend your tomatoes, boil the excess water away and set aside

• Clean the internals of the lizard and discard chop to sizable pieces.

• Put the chopped lizard in a pot, alongside the dryfish, add seasoning and onions and steam till its tender.

'Jimi Agbaje’s knowledge of Lagos is limited to his being driven from his home to the airport'- Fashola

Obviously there's no love lost here. During the inauguration of the Maidan-Aina-Agiliti network of roads and bridge in the Kosofe LGA of Lagos yesterday, Lagos state governor Babatunde Fashola, has said the governorship candidate of the PDP, Jimi Agbaje, does not know anything about the state.

Fashola described the Maidan-Aina-Agiliti roads as evidence of slum regeneration and urban renewal, adding that whenever he listened to the candidate of the main opposition party saying his administration had not regenerated the slums, he thought it was a demonstration that he does not know anything about Lagos, Punch reports...

"When I hear the pretender to my office who is trapped under the umbrella, I feel so sorry for him because it is becoming more obvious that he does not know Lagos. Because if he knows a place like Maidan- Agiliti, he would not have made such a statement. But as I have said, his knowledge of Lagos is limited to his being driven from his home to the airport.” Fashola said

I Had My First Tattoo At 15 On My Bosom - Halima Abubakar (Photo)

Since Halima Abubakar became a household name in the film industry, she has remained on the lips of many movie buffs for a long time. For some time, she was controversial, but lately, the Kogi State-born actress turned producer has been on a low profile.

But recently, she disclosed that after starting her acting career at 13, she got her first tattoo on her on one of her boobs at 15.

"Tattoos are addictive a bit although it's painful, but I just have a few. The ones I have are not too common or exposed for everyone to see. It is the tattoo on my bosom that everybody knows because I have had it since I was young. I had that tattoo at age 15 and I started acting when I was 13," she said in a recent interview.

"I don't have a boyfriend. I used to have what my ideal kind of man should be but not anymore as long as we can tolerate each other, I think that is it. Marriage is not an easy thing and I'm sure those in it can attest to this.

"I don't want to say too much so that they will not say I'm trying to discourage those who are married because I am not. But do I want to get married? That is another question. I see a lot of people's marriages and it's not something that I want to be in," she also said.

ISIS: Security Men On Trail Of Justice Uwais’ Son-Vanguard

Security agents were last night working frantically to track the whereabouts of a son of the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Muhammadu Lawal Uwais who was said to have joined the deadly Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

The 41-year old son of the former CJN left home about a month ago with his two wives and has not been seen since.

Justice Mohammed Uwais

Justice Mohammed Uwais

One of the wives a school principal, and the other also a school administrator both left with their husband without telling their parents.

Vanguard gathered that one of the wives reportedly told her parents she was going to Dubai for two weeks with her husband. Neither the former CJN nor the parents of one of the wives has heard from them since.

Contacted for his comments, the jurist told Vanguard he had no comments to make on the development.

In a telephone conversation with Vanguard in Abuja, the respected jurist, who was Nigeria’s Chief Justice between 1995 and 2006, neither confirmed nor denied the report published by a United States online medium, The Will, on March 4, 2015.

Reminded that the report had already gone viral, Uwais, who also spearheaded Nigeria’s electoral reforms, said that he had no comment on the matter.

“I don’t want to comment on hearsay,” the former CJN said.

The San Francisco-based news medium had reported that the son of the retired judge, whose name it did not disclose, had joined ISIS after moving from Nigeria with his two wives and children in order to help fight alongside ISIS, which presently controls large territories in Iraq, Syria and Libya.

The medium said that the intelligence report came from Saudi Arabia, one of the over 50 countries alongside the United Nations that has designated ISIS as a terrorist organization.

If proven to be true, this would be the second time a member of a Nigerian elitist family would be linked to a foreign terrorist group.

The first was the notorious underwear bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a member of Al-Qaeda, who is presently serving a life sentence without parole in the United States, who is the youngest son of Katsina-born Alhaji Umaru Mutallab, a wealthy Nigerian banker and businessman, who had also served as a federal minister in the 70s.

Sources said that Justice Uwais had been told about the development.

Agbaje Promises Pedestrian Bridge, Reduced Charges For Ladipo Traders

Mushin and Oshodi areas of Lagos came to a halt today as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Candidate for the state, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, took his campaign to the trading communities in Ladipo, Idi-Oro, Oshodi and Ikeja.

He promised to improve the sanitary conditions in the Ladipo Auto Spare Parts Market and the welfare of its occupants, by building a pedestrian bridge at the Toyota Bus-Stop access of the market, as well as establishing a system of overnight waste management.

Agbaje’s entourage, which included his Running Mate, Alhaja Safurat Abdulkarim, had been met with shouts of: “PDP! Power!”

The crowd of admirers, comprising cyclists and traders, flowed through the Matori area and blocked the Apapa-Oshodi expressway, with many of them chanting:

“You don win!”

“Make una no share money, we go vote for una!”

“No more Tinubu!”

Addressing the mammoth crowd of cheering traders at Ladipo auto market, Agbaje said that from May 29, they would witness an end to the era of impunity that they had suffered at the hand of the Lagos State Government, with incessant shutting of their business place over different excuses.

“I am a business man and I want to assure you that I know what it means to close your market at the slightest opportunity.

He equally condemned the imposition of a Babaloja (Market leader) on the market which is dominated by Igbos.

“I want to assure you that we shall reverse this and stop multiple taxations because it is against the principle of natural justice,” he said.

He lamented that for all the revenue the market generated for the state, it lacked government presence.

The President-General of the Ladipo Central Executive Auto Dealers’ Association, Comrade Ikechukwu Animalu, told Agbaje that the sprawling market hosted about 5,000 shops with over 20,000 occupants.

Animalu complained that traders operated under a harsh regime of levies and charges imposed by the state government and the council, with no commensurate services.

Agbaje said that a PDP government under him would discharge its responsibility of maintaining sanitation in the market, instead of blaming Ladipo businesses for improper waste disposal.

“The way it is going to work is that when Ladipo traders are closing in the evening, the cleaners would be resuming to clean up the place in preparation for the following morning’s business,” he said. “That is the way it works in other places in the world. And I see no reason why we cannot achieve it here.”

Agbaje and his team had stopped over at the Idi-Oro electronics complex, where he addressed the traders there.

Leaders of Ladipo complained that non-indigenes were being denied their Permanent Voters’ Cards by agents of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) colluding with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Acknowledging the crucial value that the market contributed to the Lagos economy, Agbaje said it would be accorded its pride of place under a PDP government.

He said he knew that the traders needed a pedestrian bridge for the safety of the patrons and users of the market.

He also promised to build toilets for Ladipo Market.

“It is not proper that Ladipo should be without a toilet,” he said. “We will provide toilet facilities for Ladipo and other markets in the state.”

According to him, the neglect the market suffered manifested in its bad access roads, a problem that would receive attention from the PDP regime in the state.

Burnt Alive: Family Mourns Woman Mistaken For Suicide Bomber

The discovery that the suspected female suicide bomber lynched by irate mob at the popular Muda Lawal market in Bauchi metropolis on Sunday, March 1, was, after all, not a terrorist, has left tears and sorrow in its wake.

It was a case of mistaken identity, it has been discovered, even as the victim now lies dead in the morgue after she was subjected to an agonizing death.

The fear that many innocent people can become victims of jungle justice is rife in a state like Bauchi where the fear of Boko Haram is the beginning of wisdom.

Now, questions are being asked about the circumstances that led to the death of the innocent woman erroneously tagged a Boko Haram insurgent at the Muda Lawa market.

Identified as Tabitha Haruna, 32, an indigene of Bogoro in Bauchi State, the victim Daily Sun learnt had been suffering from mental illness for close to a decade. It was discovered that she temporarily lost her mind once each year, after which she would be back to normal for the remaining days of the year. She was said to be undergoing psychiatric treatment.

Family sources revealed that Tabitha’s mental illness resulted in bouts of occasional aggressive but often-harmless behavioural tendencies.

It was learnt that 2014 was the worst year for Tabitha and her family, as her mental illness did not abate unlike in the previous years.

“But she hardly harmed anyone,” said Adam Kushi, Tabitha’s neighbour at Sakani, in Yelwa, in the Bauchi State capital. “She only issued threats. That’s all.”

Daily Sun has uncovered more details about the identity of the murdered Tabitha, who was set ablaze in the most barbaric and gruesome manner by a mob.

Many Nigerians are deeply concerned about the apparent lack of regard for human lives in the country. Although insecurity, especially the threat of insurgents, has persisted, the need to exercise caution to avoid shedding of innocent blood must not be jettisoned, many have argued.

When the reporter visited the deceased’s family house at Sakani, many sympathisers were at the place to pay their condolences.

Tabitha’s mother, Mrs. Rahab Haruna could not be consoled as she broke down while speaking with the reporter.

“My daughter has been wasted. I leave everything to God. Let Him judge whosoever has a hand in her death,” she told Daily Sun.

Rehab’s husband, Haruna a civil servant with the Bauchi Sate Scholarship Board, died in May last year, leaving her with the challenge of dealing with Tabitha’s mental instability as well as the upkeep of her five other children.

“My mother works at the Bauchi State College of Arts and Science (BACAS), now School of Management. It was a very tough period for the family,” Alheri, Tabitha’s younger sister told Daily Sun.

Alheri, 26, said she had fond memories of playing with her elder sister who she described as very intelligent and sociable.

“We lived in the same room with my sister and we grew up together. We attended primary school together at Rariya before she went to Government Girls College, Tafawa Balewa where she finished her secondary school,” Alheri said.

According to her, the late Tabitha had shown interest in enterprise, adding that the deceased started a business shortly after completing her secondary education. The business flourished, said Alheri, adding that Tabitha took up the business of selling roasted chicken.

“She started with two chickens in a bowl and before we knew it, the business boomed and expanded. She started near Plaza and because she was doing fine, she soon got a place inside the Plaza,” Alheri said.

She revealed that something went wrong with her sister around 2005. “It started with problems in her business,” Alheri recalled. “Then one day she came to my mother, begging her that she should forgive her. My mother was wondering why she came begging, telling her, ‘but you have been a wonderful and hardworking daughter who has been a pillar in the house.’ She started saying that some people wanted to kill her. We now took her to the Specialist Hospital, Bauchi.”

As Tabitha’s mental illness progressed, the family adjusted to the new life and challenges it threw at them. They accepted it as their fate and hoped that someday, she would be cured. But that dream never came to pass.

Danbale Kanawa Jumba, Tabitha’s uncle said that Tabitha received psychiatrist treatment at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi. Danbale, 62, a retired civil servant, said that Professor Abdul, a renowned psychiatrist, and his subordinate treated Tabitha but she never came out of her mental state.

He said: “We used to take her to the hospital with the father and the family since 2007. But the madness was coming and going. It forced her to leave the house whenever she was unstable, but she always came back. The last time she left was on Saturday, February 28, only to hear that she was burnt down by a mob at Muda Lawa. We heard the report from the security people who came to the house.”

Alheri was at home on Sunday when some Security Service men came and asked of me and said that they saw my Corporative Identity Card which she was inside a bible that she carried on the day she was called and that was how they traced our house. They told us what happened,” Alheri said. security men came looking for her. “The State

“We are very sad about the way she was killed because she grew up around that area, which is Muda Lawal with her parents before the family moved to Muda Lawal market area.

“It is strange that she was lynched and before they carried out the action, nobody could identify her. She was actually a popular person because of the business she did, which usually took her to the market to buy birds to roast. It i s strange,” Danbale said

Alheri, who could not fight back the tears, reminisced on the happy and sad moments with Tabitha, saying that the family bore the brunt whenever Tabitah was ill.

“Whenever the illness started, she could be wild and destroyed things, or threw anything that comes her way.

“She would even abuse my mother and everyone. It usually came once in a year and we understood and tried to manage it so that she would not suffer,” Alheri said. Once her head was clear, Tabitha became the beautiful, lively, industrious and deeply religious woman.

The quest to seek spiritual solution to her mental illness after all the drugs she took from the hospital treatment failed took her to the Living Faith Church, Yelwa Tudu Bauchi, after a friend, Ruth, had advised her to go there for healing. She attended the Believers Foundation School of the church.

“I remembered her vividly among the students. She was composed and asked intelligent questions. She was desirous of getting something that would change her life,” said one of the teachers of the Foundation School who pleaded anonymity.

“She also explained the challenge she was going through in the area of her health and asked for prayers. After seeing her picture now, I just remembered her,” he said.

Perhaps the mob misconstrued her defiance and refusal to be subjected to a search and concluded that she was a terrorist. The mob wasted no time in dispatching her to an untimely grave.

Alheri said what pained her the most was when the story reached her that seven tyres were placed on her sister by the mob before setting her ablaze.

“When I went to the mortuary and saw her dead body, I wept. I am still weeping.W e are wicked as a people. We rushed to kill an innocent person.

“I saw her burnt beyond recognition. Her head was off, her legs and hands were completely burnt off. Why? Since then I have been discouraging my mother not to go and see Tabitha’s corpse because she will never recover from the shock. We were told that she wore a hijab and when they stopped her, she refused to stop,” Tabitha said.

But the truth is, she was never a suicide bomber. The Bauchi State police command has disclosed that Tabitha was not a terrorist, according to their investigation.

The spokesman of the command, Haruna Mohammed, a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) explained that her gruesome killing was by mob action. He said: “What happened to her was unfortunate, as she was a victim of circumstances. She was tagged by a mob which took the law into their hands.”

Mohammed said the police were making efforts to arrest anyone that was connected to the murder.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) said: “The police searched the scene and the entire area, and there was no explosive discovered. Before we reached there, they had burnt her. We saw the rampaging mob at the scene and quickly we had to restore normalcy. We warn members of the public against taking the law into their hands and anyone arrested would face the full wrath of the law. It is illegal to kill any suspect.

“After arresting any suspect, the legal thing to do is to hand them over to the police for investigation and prosecution at the court of law.”

Tabith’s uncle, Dr. Ishaya Sumi said the family was happy that their daughter’s name was cleared of false accusation of being a suicide bomber.

Sumi said: “They found nothing on her, yet they killed her. We advised that the police should do something to stop this kind of kill ings; otherwise it will become a problem for the society.

“For us as a family, we have left everything in the hands of God and hope thatT abitha would rest in peace. We pray that God will expose those behind her death.”

APC To Hold One-Million-Man March This Saturday

In a bid to neutralise the effect of the visits of President Goodluck Jonathan to Lagos, chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, led by former Governor Bola Tinubu and Governor Babatunde Fashola, will on Saturday hold a One-Million-Man March.

Lagos
, which has the highest number of voters in the country, will be a major battleground between the Peoples Democratic Party and the APC. Addressing journalists in Lagos on Wednesday, the Lagos State coordinator of the APC Campaign Organisation, Mr. James Faleke, said the walk would begin from Maryland through Allen Avenue and end at Alausa, behind the Ikeja City Mall.

He said, “In order to psychologically prepare the minds of our voters and give a psychological defeat to the opposition, we are planning a one-million-man march on Saturday by 8a.m. It will commence at Maryland through Allen Avenue and will end behind Shoprite, Alausa.“The walk will be inaugurated by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. It will be led by Governor Fashola, Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, the Lagos State APC governorship candidate, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, and our vice-presidential candidate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (SAN).“President Goodluck Jonathan will not get majority of the votes in Lagos even if he relocates to the state.

”Faleke, who represents Ikeja federal constituency at the House of Representatives, said the APC was not intimidated by Jonathan’s visits to the state. He said, rather, it was Jonathan that was jittery ahead of the elections as he had been doling out dollars to several traders in Lagos.

The legislator, however, boasted that even if Jonathan spent the next three weeks in Lagos, he would still lose because the people of Lagos were ready for change.

He said the APC would win in at least 26 states of the federation in the general elections that would hold on March 28 and April 11.He said, “By God’s grace, we shall win a minimum of 26 states.

Mr. President knows this and that is why he has been coming to the South-West. He spent five days in Lagos distributing dollars. Unknown to him, the people have made up their minds not to vote for him.“Why is he just coming to the South-West to distribute tax payers’ money?”Faleke said Jonathan had become intimidated by the APC presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and that was why the President only started fighting insecurity six weeks to the election.

He said, “We thank God for the achievements of the military in recent times. The question is what they refused to do in six years, they woke up after seeing that Nigerians were ready for this change and decided to embark on retracing their steps within three weeks.“What was amiss before is that the Nigerian military which is respected worldwide could not handle common insurgents in six years but in just three weeks, they have been able to come out and do well?”

House Of Representatives Adopt Motion Over Removal Of Jega

The House of Representatives in Nigeria has warned against the removal of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, by any individual or institutions.

The warning came on Tuesday after a motion, seeking to stop any planned removal of Professor Jega was adopted by the House.

The motion was sponsored by Ali Ahmad, a lawmaker from Kwara State.

There were oppositions to the motion, but they were not enough to pull the needed vote to stop the motion.

Submitting the motion, Mr Ahmed said: “Any alteration to the status quo arrangement in whatever form at this crucial stage will invariably lead to further postponement of the date elections. Further concerned that such threats to tamper with the status quo may take several forms, such as illegal removal of the INEC Chairman”.

But the Deputy Minority Leader of the House, Mr Leo Ogor, opposed the motion, saying that the motion was totally speculative, as the lawmaker was not precise about what was happening or who was planning the removal.

He said that nobody was interested in removing Professor Jega.

Mr Ogor’s opinion was, however, overruled by the Speaker of the House, Mr Aminu Tambuwal, before the motion was put up for vote.

A larger number of the House supported the motion moved by Mr Ahmed, which sought to stop any planned removal of the chairman of the electoral body and it was adopted.

The issue was also echoed by the speaker when he received members of the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room at the National Assembly.

Mr Tambuwal rejected the idea of an interim government in Nigeria and the suggestions that the INEC chairman should proceed on terminal leave.

Several members of the opposition All Progressives Congress have alleged that there were plans by the executive to ask the chairman of the electoral body to proceed on terminal leave before the election.

But during a Presidential Media Chat in February, President Goodluck Jonathan said there were no plans to sack the chairman of INEC, saying “the rumours belonged to the garbage world”.

Bash Ali In Jail Over Criminal Intimidation, Refuses To Leave Prison

A Wuse Zone 6 Senior Magistrates’ Court, Abuja on Wednesday fixed April 2 for hearing in the criminal case brought against Nigerian boxer, Bash Ali, and four other accused persons.

Meanwhile Bash Ali has refused to leave jail despite meeting bail conditions.

The four others are Gabriel Ikyowe; Timothy Ugbede; Daniel Otoski and Jones Ebele.

They were arraigned by the police on Feb. 19 on a six-count charge of joint act of abetment, criminal trespass, and obstruction in public way.

They were also charge with criminal trespass, causing obstruction in public way, wrongful restraint and criminal intimidation.

The prosecuting police officer, Sgt. Bulus Samuel said the charges contravened the provisions of sections 79, 85, 348, 194, 256, and 397(b) of the Penal Code

When case was first mentioned on Feb. 19, all the accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Magistrate subsequently granted them bail in the sum of N1 million each with one surety each who must be a civil servant not below salary GL 10.

According to the Magistrate, the sureties must be reliable, resident within the court jurisdiction and must swear an affidavit to substantiate reliable means of livelihood.

Bello adjourned the matter for hearing to March 4, adding the sureties, who must be civil servants, must produce their first appointment letter and their last promotion letter.

At the resumption of hearing on Wednesday, the Principal Witness 1, Mr Bisong Peter, told the court that he and some of NEXIM Bank workers were assaulted by the accused persons.

Peter is the Chief Security Officer to NEXIM Bank.

He said this under cross examination led by counsel to the accused persons, Mr Anthony Agbolahan.

According to him, Ali, his colleagues and others now at large, disrupted NEXIM Bank operations by preventing workers and customers from entering the premises during their protest on Feb. 18.

“Ali called himself a suicide bomber and claimed that he was coming to bomb the bank.

“As a security agent, my colleagues and I have to be on alert.

“They came on a protest carrying placard with all kinds of inscriptions against corruption; we stopped them but they were still able to gain entry into the premises.

“When they were disturbing and making noise, we called the police who later came to our rescue.

“Ali had visited NEXIM Bank several times but am not aware the purpose of his visits,’’ Peter said.

He, however, said that during one of such visits, he had a meeting with the bank’s management and later left in anger”.

Defence counsel, Mr Anthony Agbolahan, however asked Peter whether he was aware that Ali and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) were planning a boxing championship.

When the witness answered in the negative, the defence lawyer told the court that Ali and his team visited the bank in connection with the championship.

Agbolahan also sought from the CSO whether Ali and other attacked the bank’s Managing Director, to which the witness also answered in the negative.

Witness also admitted that Ali had had a meeting with the management before but that Ali left the meeting in “anger”

Senior Magistrate, Habiba Bello, having listened to the parties adjourned the case till April 2 for continuation hearing. (NAN)

President Of Chad Says He Knows Shekau’s Whereabouts

The President of Chad, Idriss Deby on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 dared the leader of the dreaded insurgency group under the auspices of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, to either surrender or face death.

According to Punch, Deby told a news conference in N’djamena, that he knows the whereabouts of Shekau, who, according to him, was sighted in Dikwa , a village in Borno State two days ago.

He said, “Abubakar Shekau must surrender. We know where he is. If he doesn’t give himself up he will suffer the same fate as his compatriots.

“He (Shekau) was in Dikwa two days ago. He managed to get away but we know where he is. It’s in his interests to surrender.

The troops from Chad had earlier in the week, recaptured the village from the hands of the Islamist extremists.

The troops killed more than 100 insurgents in Dikwa which is about 85 kilometres away from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

During the encounter, the terrorists reportedly invaded a huge building where they hid themselves inside wardrobes.

Unfortunately for them, the troops were able to fish them out and fired shots which killed most of them in their hideout.

However, one of the insurgents in a defence bid, entered a bus laden with gas canisters and blew it up, killing a Chadian soldier and injuring 34.

“They came to hide here as we advanced,” one of the soldiers said, pointing to the bodies in the wardrobes.

Confirming the killings, the Chadian army spokesman, Col. Azem Bermandoa, said his men chased those who escaped about 15 kilometres out of the town, where many walls were sprayed with bullets and most houses were abandoned.

Why I Don’t Wear Panties - Ghanaian-Nollywood Actress, Baby Blanche Reveals

Due to the kind of clothes she likes to wear and is comfortable in, Baby Blanche has revealed in an interview with Showbiz that she hardly wears panties when she’s going out.

“I love all kinds of lingerie that make a woman feminine because I’m a woman, but I hardly wear panties. This is not because I don’t want to wear them but because the clothes I love to wear wouldn’t permit me to,” she told Showbiz

“I try as much as possible to act as a lady and not to let my panty lines show just because I like to wear dresses that hug my figure. So if I wear clothes and the outline of my panty is glaring like that I don’t like it,” she explained. “Being a lady is not only about wearing make-up and Brazilian hair but also comprises the propriety of whatever you’re wearing,” says Baby Blanche. She adds that she does not worry much about thoughts that she may be sexually assaulted by unscrupulous men because she makes sure she doesn’t go to awkward places at awkward hours.
