Amaechi’s Admission Of Failure Shows Rivers Deserves A Better Governor - Wike

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State, Barrister Nyesom Wike has described the apology tendered by Governor Rotimi Ameachi for his woeful performance as state chief executive during his last pre-election state broadcast as another reason why the people of the state are going to overwhelmingly elect him, Wike, as the next governor of the state.

According to a statement issued by the Special Assistant, Media, to Wike, Simeon Nwakaudu, the Wike-Banigo PDP governorship ticket in Rivers State represents the future of the state and the only platform to protect the resources of the state from the predators already primed to further damage the state.

the statement reads in part: “Amaechi’s perfidious apology laced with underlying threats to the peace loving people of Rivers State remains a desperate attempt by a drowning politician who is scheming to stay relevant through undemocratic means, having sustained himself as the governor of the state by deliberately killing the Judiciary, Legislature and emasculating the civil service.

“The forthcoming Governorship and State Assembly elections provide the people of Rivers State the opportunity to send a clear message to all the political traitors in the state by a supporting a true Rivers son, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, through a vote for the PDP and all her candidates.

“Barrister Wike represents the revival of Rivers State and the vision to make the state work positively for everyone who resides in it, rather than a source for the enrichment of a few through unbridled corruption.

“Despite Amaechi’s sinister techniques, the people of Rivers State will once again vote the PDP on April 11 because they are committed to a Barrister Wike-led administration that will build a truly united Rivers State, prosperous with boundless opportunities for everyone who lives in it to peacefully pursue their goals and realize their full potentials in dignity and happiness”, the statement said.

The statement further counselled Ameachi to conclude work on his handover notes to Barrister Wike rather than waste his time trying to subvert the will of Rivers people, adding that it was time that the people completed their political statement, started on March 28.

“While Amaechi reserves the right to seek forgiveness for his woeful performance as governor who had over N3 trillion to develop the state but betrayed the trust of the people, he must realize that the people of Rivers State have made a choice to follow Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and his running mate, Dr. Mrs. Ipalibo Harry-Banigo to deliver Rivers State from the clutches of fraud, under-development, political treachery and disrespect for the rule of law”, the statement said.

The Wet Rat-Short Story by Standd

The wet rat...

© Standd.

***

That year, I was a doe-eyed Jambito in the university, fresh out of high-school, clean, untouched and very naive.

I met so many guys whose sole purpose was to prey on Jambitos, their modus-operandi was to move in quickly and catch enough new fishes before the fishes got the hang of their new environment. A lot of them approached me, some wooed, some cajoled, some lied, some threatened and some even scared the poo out of me.

I will always remember BJ, the guy with the wet hanging rat. I met BJ at my friends lodge some months after I settled into school as a fresher. My friend just moved into this lodge that was far away from school and she pleaded with me to stay with her for a few days. Bj acquainted himself with us and would offer to help us fix stuffs in the room, he ran errands, cooked for us, warmed his way into our hearts and we gradually let down our guard.

A day came that BJ cooked beans and as usual served ours and presented the plate of beans to my friend who did not think twice before devouring her share of Bj's beans. Seconds later my friend fell asleep, without any prior sign, she just ate beans, belched and fell back on the bed; sound asleep in seconds.

I eyed the plate of beans with misgivings, not because I suspected anything but because I don't like beans. So, I picked up the remnant, poured it into the waste-bin and washed the plate.

Minutes later, Bj walked down to my friends room, and for the first time, he entered without knocking. He saw me sitting on the floor and asked if we enjoyed his well-cooked beans. I nodded in the affirmative and thanked him for giving us part of his beans( of course, I didn't tell him I never ate out of it). He saw my friend sleeping and then made his way into our tiny kitchen to pick up his plate. On his way out, he invited me over to his apartment to keep him company and to see some movies on his laptop. I obliged and as I stood up to follow him, he suddenly asked if I really ate out of his beans, I said yes and even lied that the beans was delicious.

We got to his room and he went into his bathroom while I switched on his laptop. Moments later, I felt a hand prodding my shoulders and on turning around, I saw BJ in his boxers shorts, he said:

Him: Are you feeling sleepy?

Me: No oh, please come and help me search for that movie I told you about.

Him: Hian! Are you a witch?

Me: *upset* Why? What's the meaning of that?

Him: Your room-mate is sleeping, why are you not sleeping? Are you sure you ate out of that beans?

Me: Wait, wait. Are you sure you are okay? Is your beans now Valium? What are you even talking about?

He hissed and went into his bathroom again.

I was confused but I was so naive that I didn't even suspect any foul play.

Then Bj opened his bathroom door and called my name, I turned around and almost hype-ventilated at the sight that met my eyes. Bj was unclad with his preeq hanging loose, I couldn't get my eyes off his preeq, it was long and thin and wet. Like déjà vu, I remembered the last time a rat died in my kitchen sink at home, the rat was also long and wet and shrivelled... Like Bj's preeq.

I quickly turned back and hurriedly stood up to leave, only to find Bj's door locked with no key in the key-hole.

I then relaxed and devised a fresh escape plan.

Me: Bj, what is this?

Him: Don't you know that I like you?

Me: So? Why are you unclad?

Him: I just wanted to show you something.

Me: Something? What?

Him: This. *he pointed at his preeq*

Me: *averting my eyes*

Him: Don't you like it?

Me: Like what?

Him: This. It is long and I will satisfy you.

Me: *mouth wide open*

That thing looks like a rat, a wet rat and it's really disgusting, the way it's hanging downwards and I really feel irritated. I will not touch it even if you kill me, and if you are a rapist, you know my cousins will deal with you and make your life miserable in this school if you try poo.

*scoffs*

Him: *looking down at his preeq*

He moved back into the bathroom and came out later, fully dressed.

He unlocked his door and without saying a word to me, went out of his room.

Hmmmmn, I quickly jumped up and raced out of his room. My heart was beating sinusoidally when I finally got into my friends room.

I met my friend still asleep so I raised alarm and other students came to my rescue.

Then I got to know that Bj cooks his beans with E-gbo (weed) and it's normal in the lodge for students to eat beans laced with e-gbo and then start to feck randomly.

Chaiiii!!!

****

We finally revived my friend and when she woke, she kept smiling like a slow poke, she even said she saw heaven and that heaven is yellow undecided ( Hope MTN network is not in heaven sha)

Bj stopped talking to us, and whenever I see him in school, I always remembered his hanging preeq, wet, long and downcast like a drowning rat embarassed The sight almost moved me to tears.

***

My friend had to sub-let her room and moved into another apartment in town, I stopped accepting beans from anyone, heck! I stopped eating beans altogether.

Need I say that I can no longer view a dead rat without remembering Bjs wet preeq, I guess he traumatized me that day. Guys, thou shalt not show off you wet, limp and shriveled kini undecided It will not arouse that babe, I swear down tongue

Adamawa Governorship Election: Ribadu Gets Support From Christian Group

Ahead of next Saturday’s governorship election, a Christian group has pledged to mobilise Christians in Adamawa to vote Nuhu Ribadu, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as Governor of Adamawa State.

The group, PDP Christian Supporters Forum for Ribadu, said it based its decision on the anti-corruption history of Nigeria’s former anti-graft chief.

The chairman of the group, Vincent Hassan, who stated his group’s stance at a press conference in Yola on Saturday, urged Nigerians to desist from voting people of their religion, saying the election of Muhammadu Buhari as Nigeria’s next president last Saturday was an indication that competence and history matters to voters.

Mr. Hassan said Mr. Ribadu, a Muslim, is the best among the governorship candidates in the state and based on that the group decided to cue behind him regardless of his religion.

He said his group was sure that a vote for Mr. Ribadu is a vote for rapid socio-economic transformation of the state.

Also in Adamawa, the gubernatorial candidate of People’s Democratic Movement, PDM, Ahmed Modibbo, has stated that his party will produce 25 of the State House of Assembly members based on the track record of the candidates fielded.

He warned the electorates to be wary of desperate gubernatorial candidates canvassing for their votes in the April 11 election.; as such candidates may draw back the wheel of progress if elected.

Mr. Modibbo, who addressed journalists in Yola on Saturday, said the PDM voted for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the just concluded elections as it had no candidate of its own,

He debunked insinuations that he has withdrawn from the race for the APC governorship candidate, saying ,“I never dreamt to step down for anybody because I am the most qualified candidate.”

Mr. Modibbo called on his supporters to come out en masse and vote PDM candidates vying for House of Assembly positions in the state.

Guys, Ever Been Deceived By A Lady's Profile Picture? Share Your Experiences

When it comes to lying about physical appearance just to impress the opposite sex or portray attractive image, let's give it to the ladies.

I cannot but shake my head each time I see guys opening threads and unnecessarily hyping ladies by their profile pictures without knowing that the power of their editing software will be brought to light when the get to meet

However, many of us might have one point in time been deeply fascinated by those amazing shots that caught our fancy which turned out to be a different thing entirely when we got to see them in reality

Technological advancement has now taken the facet of the earth with the introduction of photo editing applications such as picmix, photo editor, picasa and lots more which gives false staggeringly gorgeous looks, and misleading impression

A Yoruba adage says " kosi ireje ninu photo" meaning, there's no form of manipulation in picture photographs, as you pose na so you go show; but I can assure you that things are not as it used to be during the era of Nokia 3310 and Sumsung MyX1

Lemme keep the ball rolling cool

During the distinct period of 2go , I added this lady who's got nice profile picture in one of the rooms and I was glad she humbly accepted my friend request.

We got chatting, things happened and exchanged numbers.

Days turned to weeks, and weeks turned to months, and luckily for me, my prayers were answered, guess what ? she told me she was coming to Ekiti for an exam. Ooooboi see meat !!!

The day she got to Ado-Ekiti, she called and informed me to meet her where she lodged, isn't that nice ? wink, I quickly dashed into the bathroom and bathed longer than the normal time, after that, I wore my fav outfit and almost emptied a can of pef. Hehehe cheesy

I bounced out of my lodge and headed to the description, on getting there, I called and I saw a lady waved from a far distance and I was like, this can't be !!! I asked myself how come she looks like Angelina Jolie in her profile pix and she looks Majek Fashek in real life ?

What made me disappointed was that I expected more cos the false physical description she gave which did not in anyway compliment her looks

Guys, over to you cool

Survivor From Kenya Massacre Emerges After Two Days In Wardrobe (Photo)

A survivor of Kenya's university massacre who hid in a wardrobe for two days too terrified to come out was rescued safely Saturday, dehydrated but apparently unharmed, Kenya Red Cross said.

"A survivor has been discovered, she was hiding in a wardrobe," Kenya Red Cross spokeswoman Arnolda Shiundu told AFP.

"She has been taken to hospital and she's currently undergoing assessment by doctors."

The 19-year old woman was initially too scared to come out until a university lecturer she knew came to convince her that the police officers were not the Shebab gunmen who carried out the killing of nearly 150 of her fellow students, police said.

"She is the latest survivor, she has been hiding in a wardrobe for two days," a police officer involved in the security operation said, who asked not to be name. "That is when she came out of the wardrobe and rushed to hospital."

The student, who was rescued on Saturday morning, some 50 hours after the attack began. The gunmen were killed on Thursday evening.

The BBC said she told them she drank "body lotion when she felt hungry."

Kenyan troops searching the building were alarmed when they heard sounds coming from inside a wardrobe.

"She kept asking for reassurance from the security forces they were not Al-Shebab before she could come out," the police officer said.

"She was given milk and rushed to the Garissa hospital, where she is being observed before being given counselling."

Four survivors were also found on Friday, Shiundu said.

April 11 Governorship Election: Gunmen Kill 9 In Rivers State

At least nine persons have been killed and two others injured after gunmen stormed two communities in Rivers State in Nigeria’s south-south.

In a statement, the Police spokesman in Rivers State, Mr Ahmad Muhammad, said the armed men went on a shooting spree, in Obrikom and Obor communities.

Mr Muhammad said that six persons died immediately after the attack while three more victims died hours later.

According to him, the assailants also set ablaze the house of a local politician, Vincent Ogbagu, who is a state parliament candidate in the April 11 election.

Obrikom and Obor are neighbouring communities in Rivers State.

The attack came after a curfew imposed in Rivers State to contain unrest after the opposition disputed results from last weekend’s Presidential and National Assembly elections was lifted on Thursday.

The government imposed the curfew after thousands of opposition supporters descended on the electoral office in the state capital Port Harcourt on Sunday and Monday to demand a rerun of the vote.

They claimed no election was held in the state, but the electoral body said it had investigated their claims and found out that there were not enough reasons for it to consider the cancellation of the elections in the state.

Bayelsa Group Plans Heroic Welcome For Jonathan

The Bayelsa Development Forum, BDF, has said

it is making an elaborate plan to host President

Goodluck Jonathan to a “heroic welcome

reception”, as he prepares to return to the state.

This is contained in a statement issued on

Saturday by the Secretary-General of BDF, Ebimo

Anderson.

Mr. Jonathan became the first Nigerian

incumbent president to lose an election after he

was defeated by Muhammadu Buhari of the All

Progressives Congress, APC, in the March 28

polls.

The organization said it has already sent a

written letter to the Bayelsa State government to

intimate it of its plan to host the welcome

reception for Mr. Jonathan.

It said it also requested the support of the

Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, to

enable it effectively mobilize Bayelsans across

the state to turn out en-mass for the event.

While applauding what it said were the

achievements of the Jonathan administration in

national cohesion and economic development,

the forum said the president’s record of service

to the nation will not easily be forgotten.

“As Ijaw people and proud Bayelsans, even

though, we are deeply pained by the loss of our

son at the polls, we are grateful to God and

Nigerians for entrusting one of our own with the

responsibility of leading this great nation at a

time when it was thought impossible that a

minority from the South-South will hold the

highest office in the land,” Mr. Anderson said.

“We are indeed glad that President Jonathan did

not disappoint us as a nation by his sterling

leadership and in the process making history.”

The statement further thanked Governor Dickson

for standing by Mr. Jonathan, all through his

presidency and called on Bayelsans to ignore

every propaganda and campaign of calumny

against the governor allegedly being perpetrated

by a senator, Heineken Lokpobiri, on social

media.

Mr. Anderson also claimed that a video showing

the governor leading thugs to disrupt a court

proceeding is fake. Mr. Dickson has faced

criticisms from Nigerians after PREMIUM TIMES

and others published the video which went viral

showing attacks on a Bayelsa court and persons

present in the court while armed security

officials either looked away or aided the

attackers.

Chelsea Vs Stoke City 2 - 1 - (Live)!

Diego Costa is in line to feature for Chelsea against Stoke City on Saturday after recovering from a hamstring injury.

The Spain striker, who is the joint-leading goalscorer in the Barclays Premier League with 19 goals, sustained the injury during his side's 3-2 victory over Hull City two weeks ago and withdrew from international duty as a result, but the 26-year-old returned to training this week and is expected to be available for selection against the Potters for Saturday's early evening kick-off at Stamford Bridge.

"Diego trained yesterday and today with the group and he is not injured," Mourinho said in his pre-match press conference on Friday. "I don't know if I start with him or not because after a muscular injury and then just two days with the group, I need to analyse the situation with him and make a decision.

"His injury was the same as before, hamstring, and he dedicated himself to that with no days off for him or the medical department, working morning and afternoon.

"We did all the tests and scans to confirm the situation two days ago and at the moment the muscle is fine, but football is more than that, you need confidence, you need to believe you are free to express yourself at the maximum intensity and that is our doubt at the moment. Let's see in the next 24 hours."

Chelsea are sitting pretty at the top of the Barclays Premier League with a six-point advantage over second-placed Manchester City and a match in hand over the chasing pack, which they play against struggling Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday. They have not lost in the Barclays Premier League since a 5-3 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur on New Year's Day and are the only team in the four divisions who are unbeaten at home in the league this season. And now Mourinho describes the task head as one of "pure mathematics".

"It is a good situation for us and one all the other clubs would like to be in, but we need to do that and we haven't yet," he said. "But it's pure mathematics: we need to win six matches and draw one."

Midfielder John Obi Mikel (knee) will also be assessed after a month on the sidelines but the visit of Stoke is likely to come too soon for him.

Mark Hughes, meanwhile, is eager to celebrate his new contract by ending Stoke's long wait for a win at Stamford Bridge.

The Potters have lost their last eight matches at Chelsea and January 2009 was the last time they scored at Hughes' former side.

The Staffordshire club have failed to hit the back of the net in seven visits since then and not since a 1-0 League Cup success back in 1995 have they secured an away win over Chelsea.

Stoke's winless streak at Chelsea in league matches goes back to 1984 and Hughes, who last week agreed a three-year extension to his current deal, knows they are overdue a victory over the club where he spent three years in his playing days.

"Our record there hasn't been great, but that is the case for most teams," he said. "The last time the club got a positive outcome down there was in 1984, and I think my first-team coach [Eddie Niedzwiecki] was in goal that day. I'm not sure what that says about him to be honest.

"We have acquitted ourselves well in big games on the road this season, and we want to go down to London and put in another good performance. It will be incredibly difficult because they have world-class players and they have an outstanding man in charge.

"I don't think they have been playing as well as they were at the start of the season, but they are still picking up positive results. They don't have Europe to contend with now and maybe that will help them in their bid to lift the title."

Back-to-back defeats against West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace before the international break have left Stoke 10th.

On-loan Stoke winger Victor Moses is ineligible to face his parent club, but Hughes expects Jonathan Walters (knock) and Marc Muniesa (hamstring) to be fit.

April 11 Polls: Plateau Police Command Tasks Residents On Peace

Residents of Plateau have been advised to replicate the same peaceful behaviour they exhibited during the March 28, in the upcoming April 11 gubernatorial and House of House of Assembly elections.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Plateau State Police Command, Mr Emmanuel Abu, gave the advice on Saturday in Jos during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

”We really want to appreciate the peaceful conduct exhibited by the people of Plateau during the last Saturday’s Presidential election.

”The manner in which residents conducted themselves before, during and even after the polls is highly commendable”, said Abu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police.

Abu said the peace disposition of the residents went a long way in reducing the work of police personnel on election duty.

”Nobody was found committing any electoral or any other offence; so no arrest was made,”, Abu told NAN.

He urged the people, especially youths, not to engage in acts of violence or any activity capable of denting their image and that of the state.

CAF Champions League: Kano Pillars Vs Moghreb Tetouan 1 - 1 - (Live)!

The hosts will be hoping to reach the next round of the Caf Champions League but must first cancel their four-goal deficit suffered in the first leg

Kano Pillars welcome Moghreb Tetouan to the Sani Abacha Stadium for the second round, second leg of the 2015 Caf Champions League.

The Nigerian side were bounced 4-0 in the first leg courtesy of Mouhcine Iajour's treble and face an uphill task overturning the deficit on Saturday.

Reuben Ogbonnaya has stated that his side will feast on visitors insisting hope is not lost yet insisting his teammates are not deterred by the outcome of the first leg.

"Cancelling a 4-0 deficit is not a child's play; the challenge is tough but surmountable. It was within 90 minutes they netted four goals, we can and will surely do the same in 90 minutes," Ogbonnaya told Goal.

"Kano Pillars should not be written off. Football is not mathematics, we've worked hard and corrected our mistakes and come on Sunday it will be a different Sunshine Stars that will be on parade.

Pillars are aiming to reach the group for the first time in three consecutive appearances since 2009 after they crashed out in previous two occasions in the first round.

Emordi's men will strive to take advantage of the humid weather just as the Moroccans did with the cold weather in the firt leg.

The crucial encounter will kick off by 2pm in Kano.

Chelsea Vs Stoke City 0 - 0 - (Live)!

Chelsea (from): Blackman, Cech, Courtois, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Christensen, Filipe, Ivanovic, Terry, Zouma, Cuadrado, Fabregas, Hazard, Loftus-Cheek, Matic, Mikel, Oscar, Ramires, Willian, Costa, Drogba, Remy.

Stoke City (from): Begovic, Butland, Sorensen, Bardsley, Cameron, Muniesa, Pieters, Shawcross, Teixeira, Wilkinson, Wilson, Wollscheid, Adam, Ireland, N'Zonzi, Palacios, Sidwell, Whelan, Arnautovic, Crouch, Diouf, Walters.

Full Text Of President Jonathan’s Easter Message To Nigerians

President Goodluck Jonathan has felicitated with Nigerian Christians as they celebrate this year’s Easter, urging them to be prepared and willing to make sacrifices for greater unity, peace, political stability and progress in our beloved country.

President Jonathan, according to an Easter message personally signed by him, called on Nigerians to seize the opportunity of the Easter holiday to reflect deeply on what more they need to do as a people, to ensure that the political process the nation is currently engaged is successfully concluded and that the country continues to move towards a better future for all of its citizens.

Bellow is the full text of the message:

Fellow citizens,

I greet you all, especially our Christian brothers and sisters, as we celebrate Easter in commemoration of the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

For Christians all over the world, the major lessons of Easter, which we celebrate this year in the midst of general elections in our nation, are to be found in the Messiah’s Divine love and glorious self-sacrifice for the redemption of mankind.

This year’s celebration of Easter is taking place at a period of very critical national choices and decisions, during which we must all be prepared and willing to make sacrifices for greater unity, peace, political stability and progress in our beloved country.

We must therefore seize the opportunity of the Easter holiday to reflect deeply on what more we need to do as a people, to ensure that the political process in which we are currently engaged is successfully concluded and that our beloved country, Nigeria continues to move towards a better future for all of its citizens.

Happily, we have already successfully scaled the hurdle of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections. I am quite hopeful that the Gubernatorial and State Assembly elections will also be conducted peacefully.

To the glory and pride of our fatherland, our collective actions since March 28 have assured the world that the democratic spirit is alive and well in our nation.

By the grace of God, our beloved nation, Nigeria is moving forward despite all challenges.

Let us all pray this Easter, that God Almighty who has brought us this far, will continue to bless our nation as we march onward towards the fulfillment of our collective vision of a truly united, strong and prosperous nation.

I wish you all very happy Easter celebrations.

Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR

President,

Federal Republic of Nigeria

Help!! Can Her Husband's Big Manhood Affect The Flow Of Her Period?

please this is not funny because my friend confided in me even though he never wanted to share this with anyone but he is now afraid of the unknown consequences, according to him, since he started sleeping with his wife after their marriage she began to have long intervals on her menstrual period, e.g 2 months plus before she sees her period and even if it comes it doesn't flow like before again, and now he needs to be sure that is not because of his big manhood, he told me he needs to apply lubricants before he can manage to even penetrate her.

please this is a serious issue, the wife is 22 yrs and childless for now.

so doctors in the house can a man's big size affect the regular timing of the menstrual period and its blood flow.

thanks for your urgent response as me and my friend follow thread.

Manchester United Vs Aston Villa 3 - 1 - (Live)!

Manchester United Vs Astonvilla

Match Preview

Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood says he is focused only on his side’s trip to Old Trafford in what

he has called a “massive week” for

the club.

Sherwood had overseen a run of

three consecutive wins in all

competitions before a defeat by

Swansea City last time out that

left the team three points above

the relegation zone and the recently appointed Villa manager is primed for a pivotal week, when his club hosts second-bottom QPR on Tuesday.

"It is a massive week," he told a

pre-match news conference. "We

hope we can get a few bodies back

on the pitch to give us a bit more

impetus.

"Man United is the only game I'm

focusing on. We need to get something out of that game. It's a wonderful place to go and play.

There are a few in our dressing

room who have gone there and won and the boys are confident we can

do it again.

" Sherwood could welcome back

captain Ron Vlaar from a calf

problem at Old Trafford, while

fellow defender Jores Okore is set

to return following a knee injury -

both welcome boosts in the battle against the drop.

"It was obviously going to be a

difficult task," Sherwood said.

"Nobody said it was going to be

easy. There will be lots of ups and

downs along the way but I'm

confident we can do it.

"It's a great club, I feel very

pleased to have got the opportunity to manage this great club. It is a dream job for me if we stay in the league, it gives me a pre-season to build my own squad. I couldn't have hand picked a

better job, but we need to get over

the line.

" For Manchester United a win

would boost their hopes of

finishing in the top four, which

goalkeeper David de Gea insists is

paramount.

United missed out on a

place in any European competition last season but a 2-1 victory over

Liverpool last time out boosted

their hopes of a top-four finish.

Chris Smalling is expected to be

passed fit for United despite being

substituted playing for England

during midweek.

Louis van Gaal will assess Robin van Persie (ankle) and Luke Shaw (hamstring), while Jonny Evans

remains suspended.
