Graphic pics: Fatal accident on Ikorodu Road this morning

Sad incident on Ikorodu road this morning, the Ketu area to be precise. A trailer carrying a container collided with a commercial bus, and the container it was carrying fell on some vehicles, leaving a few dead. The accident is causing serious traffic going into Ikorodu this morning. See some pics from the accident after the cut, but we warned, it's graphic.

Youths attack President-s campaign team in Bauchi

Angry youths in Bauchi on Thursday twice

pelted President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign

team with stones and water sachets.

The broom-wielding youths first blocked the

motorcade of the President on Nasarawa Street

as it made its way to the palace of the Emir of

Bauchi, where Jonathan and his team were

going to pay homage.

It took the combined efforts of soldiers and riot

policemen to disperse the youths, who were

chanting anti-Peoples Democratic Party slogans

and extolling the All Progressives Congress

presidential candidate, Maj.Gen. Muhammadu

Buhari (retd.)

Along the popular Ran Road, some of the

youths, who were singing “Sai Buhari”

disrupted business activities.

In the President’s motorcade were Vice

President Namadi Sambo; Governor Isa

Yuguda; the PDP National Chairman, Adamu

Mu’azu; and the Minister of the Federal Capital

Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed.

Also on the convoy were Governors Ibrahim

Dankwambo (Gombe) and Godswill Akpabio

(Akwa-Ibom) as well as the Director-General of

the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation,

Ahmadu Ali.

Jonathan and his team however made their

way to the Ibrahim Babangida Square venue of

the campaign rally where they were again

embarrassed by another set of broom-wielding

youths.

Before the arrival of the campaign team at the

venue, the youths were chanting solidarity

songs for the President and the PDP. They

marched round the venue with drums and

placards with the President’s pictures.

They however suddenly turned wild when the

programme began and started pelting

dignitaries on the platform with objects.

They also destroyed Jonathan’s campaign

posters, some of the canopies erected at the

venue and plastic chairs.

Water sachets were thrown at the FCT minister

while he was making his speech and pleading

with the people of the state to vote for

Jonathan and the PDP on February 14.

The other dignitaries on the stand had to

bend their heads to avoid being hit by the

objects that were hurled at them by the crowd.

The obviously embarrassed minister called on

Jonathan and other dignitaries to ignore what

was happening since it was the “handiwork of

the opposition.”

“Fellow supporters of the PDP, let’s ignore what

is happening. This is politics. It is the handiwork

of those who are bent on destroying politics in

Nigeria,” he told Jonathan and the other

members of the campaign team.

When Mohammed shouted, “Nigeria, ” the

crowd shouted back “sai Buhari,” “Ba mayi,”

meaning, “We don’t support the PDP, we

want Buhari.”

A security operative, who claimed to have

witnessed the incidents, told one of our

correspondents in Abuja, that six of his

colleagues in the Department of State Security,

were injured.

He added that four of them were treated at an

undisclosed hospital and discharged

immediately while the remaining two were

admitted.

The two, according to him, had deep cuts on

their heads.

The PUNCH reports that it was very obvious

that the President, Sambo and the other

dignitaries were not happy with the way and

manner they were treated.

This was evident by the look on their faces as

they hurriedly left the venue immediately after

Jonathan’s speech.

Jonathan, in his speech, vowed that

retrogressive forces would not push the PDP

behind in its efforts to develop northern Nigeria.

He promised that if re-elected, he would

develop the country particularly the North, by

educating and empowering youths and

women.

The President said, “There are distractions here.

We are lucky we are in Bauchi, the home of Sir

Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, one of the greatest

leaders who led this country very well. He is

appreciated from the North to the South; the

East to the West.

“He never instigated anybody against anybody.

He spoke about the unity and development of

this country and that is what the PDP stands

for.

“We must educate and empower our young

men and women so that they will not be used

by politicians to cause violence.”

Also, Sambo thanked the people of the state

for their reception but advised them to desist

from engaging in politics of religion.

He said, “Nigeria is not like Saudi Arabia or

Afghanistan which are Islamic countries but in

Nigeria we are mixed and we must work

together.”

A similar incident occurred on Monday when

Governor Isa Yuguda and other dignitaries were

stoned at the PDP governorship rally at the

Darazo Mini-Stadium by angry youths believed

to be supporters of the APC.

Nobody can stop me from visiting Bayelsa – Patience Jonathan

Wife of the President, Mrs. Patience Jonathan,

on Thursday said nobody or group could

threaten her if she decided to visit any part of

the country.

Mrs. Jonathan, who spoke with one of our

correspondents through her media assistant,

Ayo Adewuyi, was reacting to statements by

some youth groups threatening to disgrace her

if she attends the grand rally of the Peoples

Democratic Party in Yenagoa on February 5.

Two youth groups – Bayelsa Youth Vanguard

and the Mangrove Boys of Bayelsa – had, in

different statements, issued in Abuja and

Yenagoa, barred the President’s wife from

accompanying her husband to the rally in

Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.

The youths, who accused Mrs. Jonathan of

instigating political crisis in the state and

working against Governor Seriake Dickson, had

vowed to embarrass and disgrace her at the

rally.

But the spokesman for the President’s wife

described the groups as faceless.

He said Mrs. Jonathan would not be cowed into

avoiding any part of the country because of

threats from such groups.

He said, “We will not descend so low to be

joining issues with faceless groups.

“The fact however remains that the First Lady

as the wife of the President cannot be

threatened by anybody or any group if she

decides to visit any part of the country.”

Meanwhile, the Bayelsa State Commissioner of

Police, Mr. Valentine Ntomchukwu, has issued a

warning to some youth groups threatening to

disgrace the wife of the President if she attends

the grand rally of the PDP on February 5.

Two youth groups – Bayelsa Youth Vanguard

and the Mangrove Boys of Bayelsa – had in

different statements issued in Abuja and

Yenagoa, barred the First Lady from

accompanying her husband to the rally in

Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.

But Ntomchukwu, while addressing a select

journalists in Yenagoa on Thursday, urged

members of the public to disregard the threat,

saying it was the handiwork of some faceless

groups.

The commissioner said, “I want to appeal to the

general public to come out in large numbers to

welcome the President and the First Lady who

have done so much for this country. So, these

miscreants cannot disrupt the peace of Bayelsa.

“We have been enjoying peace and even on

that day we will be celebrating because it is the

day the President is coming, not necessarily as

the PDP, but as the President of the Federal

Republic of Nigeria. So, they cannot come and

tarnish the image of President in his home state.

Ntomchukwu said the police would provide

adequate security for the President’s wife and

other political groups visiting the state for rallies,

campaigns and legitimate businesses.

He asked the BYV and the MBB to desist from

making such provocative and inciting

statements, which he said, were capable of

puncturing the existing peace in the state.

He added, “The police will not hesitate to deal

decisively according to the extant laws with any

such groups when arrested. I want to assure

you that we are already trailing the Mangrove

Boys anywhere they may be.

“So, my advice is that these boys should just

go away from the state entirely because since

they have done this publication, they have put

themselves on the firing line and we are

definitely going to pursue them.

“We are operating with intelligence and all the

security agencies are at our disposal. As soon

as we catch them, they will face the wrath of

the law. Even though they are faceless, any

time they become visible, we are definitely

going to deal with them.

“We are asking the well meaning Nigerians to

come forward and give information not only on

these boys but on all criminal activities. We

have already identified them by their names and

we are trailing them.”

UNBELIEVABLE: Buhari's certificate forged

The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential

Campaign Organisation alleged on Thursday

that the school certificate presented by the

presidential candidate of the All Progressives

Congress, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari

(retd.), was forged.

The Director of Media and Publicity of the

organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, made the

allegation at a press conference in Abuja.

He, however, added that the organisation had

yet to contact the school that issued the

certificate to either confirm or deny its

authenticity.

But when one of our correspondents spoke

with the school Principal, Mr. Isyaku Bello on

the telephone, he said the certificate he signed

was genuine.

The principal said, “If they are doubting the

result, then they should come and see the

authentic copy and not the photocopy sent to

us by the Cambridge West Africa School.

“We are here waiting for anybody doubting

what we have sent out. We are not running

away. Let them come and found out. “

Nevertheless, Fani-Kayode still insisted that the

document, which were released by the Ministry

of Education, Katsina State and the University of

Cambridge, was fraudulently procured.

He said those who authored the result must be

arrested by the police and be prosecuted.

He said, “Our conclusion from all these is that

the document purportedly released by the

Government College (Pilot) Katsina, upon which

the APC presidential candidate hopes to bury

the doubt about his eligibility for next month’s

election is forged, manipulated and fraudulently

procured. It is therefore untenable in fact and in

law.

“We do not know who the authors and

masterminds of this forgery are but whoever

they are, we urge them to come forward and

be identified.

“If they fail to come forward voluntarily, we

hereby call on the police and other security

agencies to seek them out, find them, arrest

them, interrogate them and prosecute them, in

accordance with the laws of the land.”

Fani-Kayode also called on Buhari to submit

himself to the police to answer charges of

perjury, alleging that the former Head of State

lied on oath about his academic qualification.

This, he said, was what a man who “claims to

represent integrity and due process ought to do

in this situation.”

He said there was no way that Buhari could

extricate himself from the crisis, adding that the

more he tried “to extricate himself, the more he

stumbles into a new phase in the unfolding

narrative of his obvious complicity in a matter

that he claimed borders on perjury.”

He said having carefully studied the statement

of result as signed by the “school principal” and

an “examination officer” of the Government

College, Katsina, as well as the attached

document titled, ‘University of Cambridge West

Africa School Certificate 1961’, his campaign

organisation believed that the result was not

genuine.

He raised the following observations and

comments on the document.

The former Minister of Information said, “The

result sheet which was attributed to the

Cambridge examination body is clearly a super

imposition of one document on another, as you

will shortly see in the enlarged image of the

result sheet as published. The column lines on

the part where names are printed do not align

with the blank columns while there is an

introduction of extraneous lines on some other

columns.

“The document contains an obvious alteration

on the Mathematics column of the candidate,

Mohamed Buhari, who was assumed to have

scored an ‘F’ in the subject. This raises a very

fundamental issue of validity in view of the fact

that the accompanying result sheet states that

‘any alteration or erasure renders this statement

of result invalid.’

“This is the standard practice in all interpretation

of documents, especially academic records. The

question we put to Gen. Buhari and his party is

whether this alteration was done by the

University of Cambridge.

Asked if his organisation has made any request

to verify the authenticity of the documents, he

said no.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress

Presidential Campaign Organisation has said

that it prefers not to respond to the

provocations of Fani-Kayode, but rather engage

him on issues that have the potential to bring

the greatest good for the greatest number of

Nigerians.

A press statement signed by Director of Media

and Publicity of the APCPCO, Mallam Garba

Shehu, on Thursday said it was laughable the

PDP would not let-go of the educational

qualification of the APC presidential candidate,

even when the matter had been exhaustively

laid to rest.

“It is not our desire in the APC presidential

campaign organisation to join an individual who

has a record of talking to please the moment on

any petty issue. At some point in the recent

past, it was convenient for Fani-Kayode to say

this of the APC and its leaders: ‘What Nigerians

need now is to join hands with the APC leaders,

Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and Senator Bola

Ahmed Tinubu to move the nation forward.

Today, Fani-Kayode sees no desecration in

recanting that same position, just to satisfy his

convenience.”

“The APC and its candidate are in this

presidential campaign to discuss issues that will

improve the standard of living of Nigerians and

ensure that the people of this country are

properly secured. Whenever the PDP and its

presidential campaign spokesman feel ready to

join us on this noble path, we will not be willing

to join them on petty issues,” Shehu said.

He noted that these distractions are being

promoted in order to provide a blanket cover

over the shortcomings of the Jonathan

administration in the areas of security,

employment, war against corruption and

infrastructure.

“Nigerians need no telling that all these

distractions and provocations by Jonathan, the

PDP and their cohorts are aimed at ensuring

that they escape scrutiny over their score card

marked by insecurity, unemployment and

rampant corruption,” Shehu said.

Middle-Belt Group Dumps Buhari, Backs Jonathan

JOS—The ethnic nationalities in the Middle Belt under the aegis of the Middle Belt Dialogue, MBD, have said that although President Goodluck Jonathan failed the zone during his first term in office, they would support him instead of the Presidential candidate of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, General Muhammadu Buhari, rtd.JonathanThey said that Jonathan failed the Middle Belt which supported him massively in 2011, but regretted that Buhari was not a better alternative because as a life patron of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, he had never for once called to order, suspected ‘’Fulani herdsmen who had been rampaging through the Middle Belt, dispossessing our people of their land, raping women and killing without compunction.”

Islamic Teachings On Intimate Relations Between Spouses

Islam teaches us all things and has brought all good teaching to mankind concerning their livelihood, religion, living and dying, because it is the religion of Allah (SWT), may He be glorified and exalted.

Sexual relations are among the important matters of life which Islam came to explain and to prescribe proper conduct and rulings which elevate it from the level of mere bestial pleasure and physical desire.

Islam connects it to a righteous intention, supplications (adhkaar) and proper conduct which lift it up to the level of worship for which the Muslim will be rewarded. The Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) explains this. Imam Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) says in his book Zaad al-Ma’aad:

“Concerning sexual relations, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) brought the most perfect guidance, whereby health may be preserved and people may find pleasure and enjoyment, and it may fulfil the purpose for which it was created, because sex was created for three basic purposes:

The preservation and propagation of the human race, until they reach the number of souls that Allah (SWT) has decreed should be created in this world.

Expulsion of the water (Fluid) which may cause harm to the body if it is retained.

Fulfilling physical desires and enjoying physical pleasure. This alone is the feature that will be present in Paradise, because there will be no producing of offspring there, and no retention which needs to be relieved by expulsion.

The best doctors suggest that sex is one of the means of maintaining good health.”

(al-Tibb al-Nabawi, p. 249)

And he (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

Among its benefits is that it helps to lower the gaze, brings self-control, enables one to keep away from haraam things, and achieves all of these things for the woman too. It brings benefit to a man with regard to this world and the Hereafter, and benefits the woman too. Hence the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to enjoy regular intimate relations with his wives, and he said, “In your world, women and perfume have been made dear to me.” (Narrated by Ahmad, 3/128; al-Nasaa’i, 7/61; classed as saheeh by al-Haakim)

And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “O young men, whoever among you can afford it, let him get married, for it helps him to lower his gaze and protect his chastity. And whoever cannot do that, let him fast, for it will be a protection for him.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 9/92; Muslim, 1400) (al-Tibb al-Nabawi, 251)

Among the important matters which should be paid attention to when engaging in intimate relations:

Having the sincere intention of doing this thing only for the sake of Allah (SWT). One should intend to do this to protect oneself and one’s wife from doing haraam things, to increase the numbers of the Muslim ummah so as to raise its status, for there is honour and pride in large numbers. It should be known that one will be rewarded for this action, even if he finds immediate pleasure and enjoyment in it. It was reported from Abu Dharr that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “In the sexual intercourse of any one of you there is reward.” (meaning, when he has intercourse with his wife) They said, “O Mesenger of Allah, when any one of us fulfils his desire, will he have a reward for that?” He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Do you not see that if he were to do it in a haraam manner, he would be punished for that? So if he does it in a halaal manner, he will be rewarded.” (Narrated by Muslim, 720)

This is the great bounty of Allah (SWT) towards this Ummah; praise be to Allah (SWT) Who has made us among them.

Intercourse should be preceded by kind words, playfulness and kisses. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to play with his wives and kiss them.

When a man has intercourse with his wife, he should say: “Bismillaah, Allaahumma jannibnaa al-shaytaan wa jannib al-shaytaan maa razqtanaa (In the name of Allah, O Allah Keep us away from the Shaytaan and keep the Shaytaan away from what You bestow on us (our children)).” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “If Allah decrees that they should have a child, the Shaytaan will never harm him.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 9/187)

It is permissible for the husband to have intercourse with his wife in her vagina in whatever manner he wishes, from behind or from the front, on the condition that it is in her vagina, which is the place from which a child is born. Allah (SWT) says (interpretation of the meaning): “Your wives are a tilth for you, so go to your tilth (have sexual relations with your wives in any manner as long as it is in the vagina and not in the anus), when or how you will.” [al-Baqarah 2:223]. Jaabir ibn ‘Abd-Allaah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Jews used to say that if a man had intercourse with his wife in her vagina from behind, the child would have a squint. Then this aayah was revealed: “Your wives are a tilth for you, so go to your tilth (have sexual relations with your wives in any manner as long as it is in the vagina and not in the anus), when or how you will.” [al-Baqarah 2:223] The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “From the front or from the back, so long as it is in the vagina.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 8/154; Muslim, 4/156)

It is not permissible for the husband under any circumstances whatsoever to have intercourse with his wife in her back passage. Allah (SWT) says (interpretation of the meaning): “Your wives are a tilth for you, so go to your tilth (have sexual relations with your wives in any manner as long as it is in the vagina and not in the anus), when or how you will.” [al-Baqarah 2:223]. It is known that the place of tilth is the vagina, which is the place from which one hopes for a child. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “He is cursed who has intercourse with women in their back passages.” (Narrated by Ibn ‘Udayy, 1/211; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Adaab al-Zafaaf, p. 105). This is because it [BehindBased intercourse] goes against the fitrah [natural inclinations of man] and is an action which is revolting to those of a sound human nature; it also causes the woman to miss out on her share of pleasure; and the back passage is a place of filth and dirt – and there are other reasons which confirm the fact that this deed is haraam.

If a man has intercourse with his wife and wants to come back to her a second time, he should do wudoo’, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “If any one of you has intercourse with his wife then wants to repeat it, let him do wudoo’ between the two (actions), for it is more energizing for the second time.” (Narrated by Muslim, 1/171). This is mustahabb (recommended), not waajib (obligatory); if he is able to do ghusl between the two actions, this is better, because of the hadeeth of Abu Raafi’ who said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went around his wives one day and did ghusl in this one’s house and in this one’s house. He (Abu Raafi’) said: “I said to him, O Messenger of Allah, why do you not do one ghusl?” He said, “This is cleaner and better and purer.” (Narrated by Abu Dawood and al-Nasaa’i, 1/79)

One or both of the spouses have to do ghusl in the following situations:

When the “two circumcised parts” meet, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “When the circumcised part meets the circumcised part (according to another report: when the circumcised part touches the circumcised part), ghusl becomes waajib (obligatory).” (Narrated by Ahmad and Muslim, no. 526). This ghusl is obligatory whether expulsion takes place or not. The touching of the circumcised parts means that the glans or tip of the joystick penetrates the vagina; it does not mean mere touching.

Emission of Fluid, even if the two circumcised parts do not touch, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Water is for water [i.e., the water of ghusl is necessary when the "water" of Fluid is ejaculated].” (Narrated by Muslim, no. 1/269)

Al-Baghawi said in Sharh al-Sunnah (2/9): “Ghusl for janaabah [impurity following sexual discharge] is waajib in either of two cases: when the tip of the joystick enters the vagina, or when gushing water is emitted by either the man or the woman.” For more information on the details of ghusl as prescribed in sharee’ah. It is permissible for the husband and wife to do ghusl together in one place, even if he sees her and she sees him, because of the hadeeth of ‘Aa’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) who said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and I used to do ghusl together from one vessel between me and him; we would take turns dipping our hands in the vessel and he would take more than me until I would say, ‘Leave some for me, leave some for me.’” She said, and they were both junub (in a state of janaabah). Narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim.

It is permissible for a person who has to make ghusl to sleep and delay the ghusl until before the time of prayer, but it is definitely mustahabb for him to do wudoo’ before sleeping, because of the hadeeth of ‘Umar, who said that he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Can any one of us sleep when he is junub? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Yes, but let him do wudoo’ if he wishes.” (Narrated by Ibn Hibbaan, 232).

It is forbidden to have intercourse with a woman when she is menstruating (having her period), because Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “They ask you concerning menstruation. Say: that is an adhaa (a harmful thing for a husband to have a sexual intercourse with his wife while she is having her menses), therefore keep away from women during menses and go not unto them till they have purified (from menses and have taken a bath). And when they have prufieied themselves, then go in unto them as Allah has ordained for you (go in unto them in any manner as long as it is in their vagina). Truly, Allah loves those who turn unto Him in repentance and loves those who purify themselves (by taking a bath and cleaning and washing thoroughly their private parts, bodies, for their prayers, etc.).” [al-Baqarah 2:222].

The person who has intercourse with his wife whilst she is menstruating has to give a dinar or half a dinar in charity, as it was reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) obliged a man to do when he came and asked him about that. This was reported by the authors of al-Sunan and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Adaab al-Zafaaf, p. 122. But it is permissible for the husband to enjoy his menstruating wife without having intercourse, because of the hadeeth of ‘Aa’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) who said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would tell one of us, when she was menstruating, to wear a waist-wrapper, then her husband would lie with her.” (Agreed upon).

It is permissible for the husband to withdraw (‘azl) if he does not want to have a child; by the same token it is permissible for him to use condoms – if his wife gives her permission, because she has the right to pleasure and to children. The evidence for this is the hadeeth of Jaabir ibn ‘Abd-Allaah (may Allah be pleased with him) who said, “We used to do ‘azl at the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) heard about that, and he did not forbid us.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 9/250; Muslim, 4/160).

But it is better not to do any of that, for several reasons, including the fact that it deprives the woman of pleasure or reduces the pleasure for her; and that it cancels out one of the purposes of marriage, which is to increase the number of offspring, as mentioned above.

It is forbidden for both spouses to spread the secrets of what happens between them in their private marital life; indeed, this is one of the most evil things. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Among the most evil of people before Allah on the Day of Resurrection will be a man who comes to his wife and has intercourse with her, then he spreads her secrets.” (Narrated by Muslim, 4/157).

It was reported from Asmaa’ bint Yazeed that she was with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and men and women were sitting with him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Would any man say what he did with his wife? Would any woman tell others what she did with her husband?” The people kept quiet and did not answer. I [Asmaa'] said: “Yes, by Allah, O Messenger of Allah, they (women) do that, and they (men) do that.” He said, “Do not do that. It is like a male devil meeting a female devil in the road and having intercourse with her whilst the people are watching.” (Narrated by Abu Dawood, no. 1/339; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Adaab al-Zafaaf, p. 143).

This is what we were able to mention about the etiquette of sexual relations.

Praise be to Allah Who has guided us to this great religion with its sublime manners. Praise be to Allah Who has shown us the best of this world and the next. May Allah bless our Prophet Muhammad (SAAW).

Kano APC In Disarray, Kwankwasiya Movement To Support Jonathan

Indications are rife that all is not well with the Kano state chapter of the All Progressives Congress ( APC ), as a result of a cold war between the Kano State governor, Alh . Rabiu Kwankwaso and the party’s presidential Flagbearer, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.

The crisis which has already began to polarise the party along loyalty lines has been blamed on what watchers claim high handedness by the presidential aspirant. They allege that Gen. Buhari has refused to recognise any other power bloc within the party especially the Kwankwasiya movement which is acclaimed to be one of the biggest blocs in the party nationwide.

Political watchers have attributed his refusal to handover the party’s flag to the state governorship aspirant, Alh. Umar Ganduje during the just concluded presidential rally, as a fall out of this feud as he was not to disposed to Ganduje ‘ s emergence owing to the latter’s membership of the Kwankwasiya.

This rivalry many believe has been in existence since the founding of the APC where legacy members of the party were not comfortable with the newcomers whom they claimed had come to take their place. It has also been gathered that the lack of trust between Kwankwaso and Buhari may stem from the latter’s comments in 2010 when he called the General a serial coupist.

Speaking exclusively to our correspondent, Mallam Tanko Bamali a party stalwart lamented the situation, according to him since Buhari’s entrance into the party due to merger, the opposition has become divided and even caused defection of major stakeholders in Kano.

Lai Mohammed To FFK- "Whats All The Noise About Buhari's Credentials?"

The National Publicity Secetary of the All Progressive Congress,APC,chief Lai Muhammed has described the statement of by Fani Kayode that Gen.Muhammadu Buhari should be stripped off his millitary status and privileges for joining the army with fake credentials as laughable.

Fani had during a press conference said that Buhari should also be disqualified from the forthcoming presidential election over inability to present his original credentials.

Reacting to Fani's assertion while speaking as a guest on channels TV's Sunrise Daily, the APC's spokesman explained that after buhari was overthrown in 1985, his house was ransacked and his documents were either stolen or burnt.

According to him, upon his (Buhari) return from exile, he sworn an affidavit to show that his results were missing.

"This happened long ago. He was a former Head of State and i don't think he's going to look for job anywhere where they would ask him to bring his original credentials. He swore an affidavit and he tendered it when he contested for presidency in 2003, 2007, and 2011 respectively. So what is the noise about Buhari's credentials?

"I also graduated from school over 53 years ago and i don't think i can find my WASC certificate. I think Buhari should be pardoned if he cannot produce his certificates."

When reminded that the Electoral Act was amended in 2010, Mohammed responded that Buhari used same affidavit to contest in 2011 without controversy.

He claimed that PDP leaders were jittery because of the support Buhari was getting from Nigerians.

"I think Femi is too fast. Why is he jittery? PDP is afraid because there's no way they could win the presidential election next month." he added.

Principal Gets Death Threats For Releasing Buhari’s Results

Barely 24 hours after releasing Gen. Muhammadu Buhari’s 1961 West African School Certificate (WASC) results, the Principal of the Government College, Katsina, Mallam Isyaku Bello, has been receiving death threats, The Nation reports

The source of the threats could not be ascertained last night.

The principal was summoned by his employers, the Katsina State Ministry of Education, in connection with the release of the results, sources close to Mallam Bello said last night.

The embattled principal was said to have explained that he needed to defend the integrity of the college (formerly Provincial Secondary School, Katsina) and not Gen. Buhari.

Bello made distress calls to his friends and relatives, The Nation learnt.

One source said: “Some forces were unhappy with the issuance of results to Gen. Buhari and they have been threatening the principal. They have been calling him names, abusing him. Some were actually threatening to deal with him.

“They told the principal that he ought to have left Buhari to his fate instead of releasing his results.

“Faced with pressure, the principal has reached out to friends and relatives on the threats. He explained that he did so to protect the integrity of the college and not anybody’s.

“We hope that no harm will come upon the principal, who was just doing his job.”

It was unclear as at press time last night whether Bello had reported the threat to the police or not. He did not pick his calls and messages to his telephone were not replied.

Dear LIB readers: My husband hates to cuddle in bed

From a female LIB reader

I've been married for just four months and I must say marriage is not at all what I expected. It's not bad, but its a little different from when two people are dating, or maybe mine is just peculiar. What gets me the most is that my husband doesn't like to cuddle in bed. After sex, he wants me as far away from him as possible on the bed. When I put my hands around him, he tells me to give him space, saying he's uncomfortable with anything touching him when he's sleeping. And this is supposed to be forever? I like to cuddle, I want to be held by my man, I want to be able to sleep in his arms but not this man I married. He wants none of that. How do I convince him that is the best way two people who like each other should sleep? I need my cuddles

;D Marry Your Woman If She Can Eat This With You (PiC)

We've read a lot about the "gold-digging" and "materialistic" tendencies of our ladies nowadays especially from broke guys. grin grin

So here is a little test for your girlfriends:

- Get the snack/food below ready in a fancy plate.

- Cover it up to hide content

- Act like you specially prepared the 'meal' for her (or both of you) to enjoy grin

- Allow her open the cover

- Watch her reaction (first 3 seconds matters)

- The first reaction is usually the NATURAL (and often inhibited) personal character.

Lagos state corpers lodge robbed

According to sources who spoke with LIB, the Catholic corpers lodge located at Akowonjo in Lagos was robbed in the early hours of today Jan. 22nd around 1.03am . One of the corpers who was outside due to the heat was held at gun point and was asked to enter one of the rooms where they robbed them of their phones. An alarm was raised by a corper, but the robbers shot in the air to scare people from attacking them and jumped the fence which is suspected to be the same way they came in.

Thankfully, no life was lost. Only a few were shaken by the incident. The Nigeria police responded quickly, they came in two batches. But the thieves had already gone before they arrived.

Don Jazzy Calls D'Banj A Broke Dude In New Song?

According to a report by cityrovers.blogspot.com Don Jazzy is working on a new song in which he is dissing

former label mate D Banj. In the song Don Jazzy is said to have confirmed rumours making the round that D Banj is broke by calling him a broke dude. See the full article

Don Jazzy we gathered just produced a song for his younger brother titled ‘Oga Titus’ and those who have heardthe song say that it is a direct attack on D’Banj. The song also confirmed the rumour in town that the ‘Eja Nla’ is broke. Cityrovers.blogspot.com gathered that Don Jazzy might have capitalized on the news that took over the social media recently that D’Banj is enmeshed in debt. In the new song, it was said that ‘Now Money Don Lost’ confirming the perceived state of D’Banj’s bad state of finances.

Repeatedly, Don Jazzy and brother took swipe at D’Banj calling him ‘Oga Titus’ instead of ‘Eja Nla’. The duo even went further to ‘yab’ Tonto Dike because of her association with D’Banj lately. Part of the lyrics is produced below..

“Oga Titus is too pompous, you wan try us, now money don lost, boys are very big boys, you don Bleep up, you wan form boss, kasala don burst, where is oga Titus

You take night bus to come Lagos, you go campus, girl are very surplus, you no hint us, you wan com flex, now money don loss…….

INEC Can Not Disqualify Buhari - Jega

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, has maintained that the commission cannot disqualify the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj.Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), even if he does not present his senior school certificates in the future.

Jega, who spoke on Wednesday night during an interview on a Channels TV programme, titled, Straight Talk With Kadaria, said those asking the commission to disqualify Buhari were free to go to court.

He said the Electoral Law permitted that if any presidential candidate cited any documents that he could not produce, he could swear to an affidavit.

On the eligibility of Buhari and the calls for INEC to disqualify him, Jega said, “When a political party presents a candidate and he meets all the requirements of submission -deadline and the forms- INEC cannot reject such a candidate.

“There is a provision that the candidates should provide documentary evidence of whatever qualification they have cited, but the law also permits that if you cite documents and you don’t have photocopies, you can swear to an affidavit and in this case, INEC by the provision of the section 31 of the Electoral Act cannot disqualify an appropriately nominated candidate of any party. We can deregister a political party, but the law says we must accept any candidate; it is a matter for the court, they are free to go to the court.”

The INEC boss also allayed fears over cloned Permanent Voter Cards, allegedly made to rig the forthcoming elections.

He said any cloned PVC would be detected by the card readers.

He said, “They can attempt to clone our cards but they cannot succeed. The card reader would detect any fraud. We are 100 percent sure that no cloned card will be used.”

Responding to a report that the Department of State Service had access to INEC’s database, Jega also dismissed the claims.

He said although the DSS approached INEC to carry out investigations on certain electoral crimes, the commission didn’t release the private data of voters to the DSS.

He said, “By law, we are supposed to protect the secrecy of the voters and we have a lot of information in our database. We have not made our database accessible to anybody. The DSS came to investigate, they asked questions and we are willing to assist any security agency to do a thorough investigation to determine whether there is a crime or attempt to commit a crime.”

Speaking about his plans after the end of his tenure in June, Jega said he would go back to teaching.

“I came into this job, I did my best. I think five years is okay for anybody to make a change and allow some other people to take over and do their best. I am grateful to the Almighty God who gave me the opportunity to discharge these duties well. I supervised the 2011 elections that were adjudged one of the best elections in the country. We are the only administration that has conducted two elections consecutively and we are doing everything possible to make all a success. I will return to teaching after my tenure ends.”

OBJ speaks about Buhari`s certificate issue…

Below is what the former president allegedly said. I use allegedly because after now, he will come out and say he never said it. Read below...

The truth of the matter is that Jonathan is aware that Buhari is qualified to contest for President Election but some hawks with Jonathan, do not want him to contest Because they believed that he will win and come for them.

The issue came up in 2007, and we investigated and found out that his WASEC is with the military and that was why he was allowed to contest in 2007.

Buhari cannot listen to anyone about his certificates because as a General of Nigeria Army,he will speak when he chooses, not by Femi Fani Kayode and Okupe asking him.

Fayose and other corrupt People including Kashamu do not want Buhari because of his anti-corruption slogan. Even Jonathan did not finish his PhD course but when it was presented we stated that, it does not matter but many people do not know because it was PDP thing.

I see Buhari as the next President and Jonathan is aware of that, and that is the reason they are hitting him everywhere to put confusion in his camp. But a General is always a General….
