52 year old woman who was kidnapped in Lagos was rescured by the police

The Lagos state police command has rescued a 52 year old woman who was kidnapped by 6 armed men along the Eleko Epe expressway in Lagos some days ago. (kidnappers pictured above)
Narrating how she was kidnapped, the woman, name and face withheld, said she was on her way to Ajah market when 6 armed men kidnapped her and immediately started asking her for anyone she wants to call…

The kidnapped woman
“They were saying “Now who do you want to call, who do you want to call? I said for what? They said we wouldn’t leave you until you give us money. I said how much? They said 250. I was even begging them saying where will I get that type of money from? I said ok let me pay 100. They said no. Later one of them now said do you understand what we are saying? We are asking for 250 million? I said where will I get that kind of money from, that I don’t have that money and I have never seen that kind of money before”she said

Speaking on the matter, the Lagos state police commissioner, Kayode Aderanti said after much negotiation with her family, her abductors agreed to collect N3 million.

“The son of the victim on getting to the place where he was asked to bring the ransom, one of the kidnappers came out to collect the ransom. Unknown to him, some of my officers were stationed around the area and were able to arrest him and he led them to where other members of the gang were and where the victim was been kept right inside the bush”he said

Three of the gang members were arrested
and paraded before press men at the state police command. They confessed to the crime, saying their gang leader, Niyi Omoshola died during a gun battle with the police. They said this was the 4th kidnapping they were attempting. Two of the gang members are currently at large

“We started just this year. We have kidnapped three people this year, two women and one man. The first kidnap, they gave me 115, 000. The second one they gave me 80 and the third one they gave me 80, 000″one of the arrested gang member said

The police say the arrested gang members will be charged accordingly while efforts will continue for the arrest of the fleeing members.

Gbenga Obasanjo said his Father Made Love to his Wife

In what appears to be a messy divorce between Gbenga Obasanjo, son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and his estranged wife, Mojisola Olayemisi Amope, the first son of the former president has dropped a bombshell on his father’s alleged s exual intimacy with his wife, Moji. Gbenga not only accused his own father and Nigeria’s former president of having s ex with his wife before awarding contracts to her, but also alleged that his wife’s father, Otunba Alex Onabanjo and other men slept with her.

This shocking revelation is contained in an affidavit he submitted to the court in response to a messy divorce case already in court.

Gbenga’s celebrated marriage to Moji, which took place at the Archbishop Vinning Memorial Church, Ikeja, in April, 2000, headed for the rocks barely four years after the lovebirds exchanged marital vows.

Moji had allegedly deserted her matrimonial home on 2 December, 2004 and never returned until this messy divorce battle that is bound to ruffle many feathers.

According to the affidavit signed on behalf of Gbenga Obasanjo by his counsel, Emankhu Addeh of Addeh & Associates, “The petitioner (Gbenga) avers that the respondent (Moji) confided in him severally while they were living together (sic) that she had been s exually abused and defiled by her father, Otunba Alex Onabanjo on several occasions.

“The petitioner avers that it was his bid to forcefully put an end to this ignoble acts on the part of his father-in-law, Otunba Alex Onabanjo, that led to the total breakdown of relations between himself and Otunba Onabanjo.

“The petitioner further avers that he knows for a fact that the respondent committed adultery with and had an intimate, s exual relationship with his own father, General Olusegun Obasanjo, in order to get contracts from the government.

“The petitioner avers that the Respondent also got rewarded for her adulterous acts with several oil contracts with the NNPC from his father, General Olusegun Obasanjo, amongst which was the NNPC Consultancy training in supply chain management and project management awarded to her company Bowen and Brown.

“The petitioner avers that lurid s exual relationship of the Respondent with her own father, Otunba Alex Onabanjo and his father General Olusegun Obasanjo, has brought him great pain and psychological trauma and is the primary reason for the breakdown of his marriage to the Respondent.

“The petitioner avers that the respondent
while married to him was also committing adultery with one Mr. Olumide Ogunlesi.

“The petitioner avers that the Respondent shamelessly carried on her s exual escapades without any thought as to the psychological effect of same on him.”
Gbenga further stated in the affidavit that the paternity of the two children that are the product of his marriage to Moji was in doubt, considering the alleged multiple s exual relationships she had with several men.

Consequently, Gbenga is opting for a DNA test to be conducted to ascertain who really is the father of the children.
“The petitioner avers that it is now necessary for a court ordered DNA test to be carried out on both himself, Otunba Alex Onabanjo and General Olusegun Obasanjo by a competent independent medical laboratory chosen by the court, in order to ascertain the actual paternity of the children of the marriage as the continued uncertainty about their actual paternity is making his life a misery.

“The petitioner avers that the actual father of the children of the marriage will be found amongst himself, Otunba Alex Onabanjo and General Olusegun Obasanjo and same must be addressed immediately.
“The petitioner avers that it is pertinent that this is done before further deliberations in this matter as the issue of the children’s paternity is integral to the determination of the suit and must thus be resolved and laid to rest urgently.”

Police catches Notorious Thief Who Steals Brain Box Of Cars In Lagos

Igbere TV has described a strange story of how police in Harmony Estate, Ifako, Gbagada, Lagos, this morning nabbed a notorious thief who specialized in stealing the headlights, brain box, power control windows of cars when owners of
the cars were away at work.

The thief usually drives a Hummer 2 SUV into Harmony Estate, Ifako, Gbagada, Lagos and escapes with his stolen goods. Usually the theft occurs once every 3/4 months but particularly on days when this hummer drives in.

He was finally caught after being trailed round the estate and caught in the act. Read Igbere TV’s description of the event below:

“From the estate security, for the past 2 years, residents who park their cars…usually Toyotas come back from work to discover their brain boxes, power window controls, sometimes head lights, gone. Though not often, maybe once in 3/4 months. But its always more than 4 cars. The security guys said they notice that complaints are made usually on days this Hummer jeep visits the estate.

“So this morning around 7, you know workers in Lagos would have gone to work and those without fuel would leave the cars – the hummer jeep came in and the security guys started tailing just to know where this guy normally visits.

“Obviously when they saw where he parked, they were OK only for them to see him on another street later the guy parked on the last street in the estate then trekked back to the upper streets to rob. After getting a little beating, the police was called. Our police are still barbaric. Used gun butt on the guys head, chained his hands tightly to the back with chain and padlock and gave him additional beating before driving his hummer away.”

Checkout The 11yr Old Nigerian Journalist Who Interviews Presidents (Photo)

SHE’S AN award-winning documentary filmmaker who has interviewed some of the world’s top leaders and just last month made history by becoming the youngest person to be interviewed by Forbes magazine.

But Zuriel Oduwale maintains she is a regular 11-year-old girl who enjoys nothing more than to play her Nintendo Wii and board games with her family.

“I do all the usual things like go to the mall with my mum and sisters and ride my bike with my neighbours,” she says, although she is more than aware her life differs slightly from most girls her age.

“I am in a home school-based curriculum, so that allows me to get ahead in my school work and then I have some time to travel for my extra curricular programmes like my Dream Up, Speak Up, Stand Up programme, or interviewing leaders for my documentaries.”

Touted as the next Oprah Winfrey, Zuriel is committed to rebranding Africa by showing the positive things about the continent, and campaigning for education for girls.

Some of the high-profile names Zuriel has enjoyed exclusive one-to-one time with include Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan and her personal favourite, Prime Minister of Jamaica, Portia Simpson.

“She held my hands and prayed for me and then she put me on her lap to take official pictures with her, which was very different from all the other 13 presidents and prime ministers I have interviewed.”

Zuriel, which is Hebrew for ‘God is my Rock’, believes by leading by example, girls may be inspired by her journey and do the same. That, she believes, can show her peers and the world the need to educate the continent’s often forgotten girl child.

Zuriel’s vision for her Dream Up, Speak Up, Stand Up programme is to inspire girls to “accomplish their dreams like me” by using it as a platform to push the influential work she is doing around the globe.

When talk moves to the future of the 200 girls kidnapped by Islamic extremists in Nigeria last month, the 11-year-old said she was both “sad but relieved at the same time.”

She explains: “Sad because I can’t imagine being taken to some strange place by some strange people, but relieved because the whole world is talking about it so maybe something can now be done.”

Keen to prove age is nothing but a number, Zuriel wants to show parents – and the world – by “using me as an example, what their children can do”.

Zuriel began pursuing documentary-making and journalism when she was nine after entering a competition in the United States, where she resides with her Mauritian mother and Nigerian father and three siblings – two sisters and one brother. The competition asked applicants to produce a documentary “about a revolution or reaction in history”.

“I knew right away what I wanted to do even though I was only nine. It was my opportunity to find a successful revolution and show the world that Africa is not all bad.”

In a typical day, Zuriel and her nine-year-old sister are made to watch an hour of news and asked to write – and later discuss – what they have heard with their parents.

“When I watch the news, I find that most of the news about Africa was always negative, so I thought I could show something that was positive like a successful revolution.”

She then began research on the Ghana revolution, the 1979 uprising which arose out of a combination of corruption, bad governance, lack of discipline in the army and frustrations among the general public. Her research took her to the African continent where she was able to interview flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings, who led a coup and later became the country’s head of state.

“I had to take my own camera to interview President Rawlings, set it up, write my own questions, shoot the clips and do the editing because that was the rules of the competition,” she says. “It was hard, but I did it. Sometimes I was working late after doing my homework to complete it.”

But her hard work has paid off. Last year, aged 10, Zuriel made history by becoming the youngest person e er to be interviewed by the prestigious Forbes magazine.

“[At the time] I didn’t understand why they wanted to interview me,” she says coolly. “It wasn’t until they said even though the work I was doing for girls’ education in Africa was not about wealth creation, it was too special to ignore. They wanted it in their women’s future leader edition.

“I think it’s pretty cool now. I understand what it means and more importantly, a few months before, Mr Aliko Dangote, the richest black man in the world, who I have interviewed, was featured in the magazine. I feel really special.”

Though Zuriel hopes to explore her chances in basketball and robotic engineering, her life-long goal is to become president of the United States.

“People always ask why I don’t want to be the president of an African country, but I feel if I am president of an African country, I might be able to affect one or two other countries, but if I am president of the United States, not only would I be able to affect the United States, but most countries in the world including those in Africa and the Caribbean region. That way, I can change the way girls are educated around the world.”

Losing your phone is a nightmare, and things get worse when you know there is hardly any way to track it down.

Well but if you are an Android user, then you are in for a pleasant surprise.

Google recently introduced a new feature which can track down any Android phone or tablet by simply using ‘Google Search’. Here’s how it works!

Step 1: Make sure you are using/share the same Google account on your PC and Android phone or tablet. (Even if you aren’t, it will prompt you once you type in ‘find my phone’ in the Google search bar.)

Step2: Now type in ‘find my phone’ in the Google Search bar.

As soon as you hit enter, Google will start locating your phone on Google Maps.

Give it a few seconds and your phone’s preciselocation will be right in front of you.

It even shows how far it is from where you are sitting.

But what if your phone is under a pillow or stuck in a bed side.

Well, for that, there’s an option called ‘Ring’ which will make your phone ring at maximum volume for over 5 minutes.
