Surround Yourself With ‘Right’ People, Father Mbaka Tells Buhari

Fiery Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, has congratulated General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) on his victory in the March 28 Presidential election.

Mbaka, whose New Year Message, “From Goodluck to Badluck,” became a major talking point during the campaigns for the election, said Buhari’s emergence was a divine victory for all Nigerians.

Speaking through his spokesman, Maximus Ugwuoke, Mbaka also noted that Buhari’s victory was a fulfillment of his prophecy in the New Year Message.

However, he urged the President-Elect to seek divine wisdom before appointing people who will work with him.

According to him, President Goodluck Jonathan’s biggest problem was that he surrounded himself with the “wrong people.”

Mbaka advised Buhari to avoid making the same mistake.

The cleric’s spokesman said, “It is with vindictive joy and glory to God that the Adoration Ministry, the nation and indeed the world saw the fulfillment of Fr. Mbaka’s New Year prophesy of change with the miraculous, victorious emergence of General Muhammed Buhari at the March 28th polls as the President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“We wish to restate that before President Goodluck became the President of this country, Fr. Mbaka prophesied it in his message titled ‘Okolo.’

“Today again, Buhari’s victory, among other lessons it portends to Nigerians, has once more confirmed to all and sundry that Fr. Mbaka is indeed a true Prophet of God and that his New Year message was indeed from the Oracle of the Holy Spirit as he declared.

“The ministry with magnanimous heart holds no grudges against anyone who attacked it in one way or the other at the rage of the controversies surrounding Fr. Mbaka’s message and view their actions as being orchestrated by their misconstruing of Fr. Mbaka’s prophetic calling.

“The Ministry joins the rest of Nigerians to congratulate Buhari as God’s chosen instrument of change to tackle the myriads of problems facing Nigeria and pray God to endow him with the wisdom to go about this onerous task.

“We see Buhari’s victory as divine victory to all Nigerians irrespective of our religious and ethnic divide.”

Urging Buhari to seek divine wisdom before choosing the people he would work with, he said, “The prayer of Fr. Mbaka is that God will give Buhari wisdom not to surround himself with wrong people – that was the major problem Jonathan’s administration faced.

“Fr. Mbaka has advocated that Nigerians should be patient with Buhari because the holes dug in the country are too much – holes of corruption, holes of unemployment, among others.”

The cleric said he will be the first to condemn Buhari if he fails to live up to expectations.

APC Slams Alao-Akala, Describes His “Sai Buhari-Sai Akala” Posters As Disgusting

The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State has taken a swipe at the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party, Adebayo Alao-Akala, over the circulation of posters bearing pictures of the former governor and the President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari, apparently, to gain sympathy from the electorate ahead of next week’s governorship election in the state.

Campaign posters bearing the pictures of Messrs Buhari and Alao-Akala with “Sai Buhari, Sai Akala” boldly written on them have flooded particularly Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.Akala buhari

Reacting to the development, the Director of Publicity and Strategy of the Oyo State chapter of the APC, Olawale Sadare, described the development as “another shameful act coming from enemies of the good people of the state”.

“Not a few people found it unbelievable to see the picture of the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, on Alao-Akala’s campaign posters,” Mr. Sadare said. “Since Wednesday evening when those disgusting posters were sighted in parts of Ibadan, a good number of concerned citizens have been expressing their amazement at the development.

“Meanwhile, the ruling APC in the state view the action of the sponsors of such obnoxious campaign materials as a desperation taken too far. It is indeed another in the series of grand delusion which most members of the opposition have been feeding the public with in their bid to hijack power and return the state to the era of bad governance, official corruption and impunity.”

He added that Mr. Buhari, given “what he has always represented”, would not “contemplate throwing up a corrupt element for an election or appointment”.

In spite of the antics of the opposition in Oyo State to mislead the public, the APC remained confident that its candidate and incumbent Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, would be re-elected for an unprecedented second term on April 11, Mr. Sadare said.

Mbu Joseph Mbu is known to be a radical cop whose aim was to destroy APC and its supporters was once a Commissioner of Police who fought Gov. Ameachi squarely because he was acting out a script handed over to him by PEJ and Wike under the watch of GEJ.

We’ll Be Back In Four Years Time – Okupe

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, has congratulated Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari on his victory at the March 28 presidential election.

He said it was the will of God that the All Progressives Congress produced the president of the country in 2015.

Okupe, however, said on his Facebook page on Thursday that if it took Buhari 30 years to come back to power, it would take the Peoples Democratic Party much less to do so.

He said PDP was bowed, but not cowed.

He wrote, “It has pleased the Almighty God to give victory to Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the APC and the President-elect. We accept this as the will of God and I personally congratulate the General on his success.

“We have run a good race and fought a gallant battle. We are bowed but not cowed. We lost the crown but we gained a trophy. The PDP family must not despair; if it took General Buhari 30 years to come back to power, it should take us much less. For the opportunities we have had, we give God all the glory.

“The strife is over for the next four years only. We rejoice with APC and the people of Nigeria on the process we have jointly made in our democratic journey. For our democracy to endure, it is important that the winner clearly emerges while the loser concedes with equanimity.

“Certainly, we will be back. We will overcome this defeat and rise to power and glory in the twinkle of an eye.”

Gani Adams Praises Buhari, Says He Is Nigeria’s Abraham Lincoln

The Oodua Peoples Congress on Wednesday sent a congratulatory message to President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, over his election victory.

The National Coordinator of the Congress, Gani Adams, in the congratulatory message made available to PREMIUM TIMES said the success of Mr. Buhari at the election across the country proved he is the choice of the people. Mr. Adams commended him for his resilience and tenacity over the years.

“I wish to send my congratulations to the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, on his success in the recently-concluded presidential election. By his resounding success in the election across the country, General Buhari has proved that he is the choice of the people,” Mr. Adams stated.

“I commend his resilience and tenacity over the years which have seen him equal the record of great leaders like Abraham Lincoln of the USA. His victory is a lesson to all of us that we can be what we want to be if we are patient and persistent in our legitimate pursuits in life”.

“His speeches before, during and after the election are also commendable because they went a long way in dousing the tension in the country.

This actually shows that the ‘Peoples General’ as he is fondly called is indeed a statesman’.

The Congress leader called on Mr. Buhari to begin to see himself as the president-elect of all Nigerians and not just that of the All Progressives Congress.

“However, having won the election, I want the president-elect to begin to see himself as the president-elect of all Nigerians and not just that of the All Progressives Congress (APC). For him, it is time to mend whatever differences that may have arisen as a result of the election.

“It is time for all Nigerians, irrespective of political affiliation, to come together to continue to build our nation in a positive way, which of course, should be the focus of the president-elect himself and every other political leader across the various political parties in the country”, Mr. Adams said.

“And for all of us, it is a new dawn in the annals of the country for an opposition party to win in a popular election.

Mr. Adams also congratulated President Goodluck Jonathan for creating a level-playing ground for all the parties that contested the election and the high spirit of sportsmanship he displayed when he called to congratulate the president-elect even before all the results were released.

“By his action, President Jonathan has truly lived up to his statement that his ambition is not worth the life of any Nigerian. This is an exemplary feat, which any other presidents coming after him must not fall short of achieving.

“And to all Nigerians, who by their participation in the election also deserve kudos as they defied the weather, distance and other hurdles to cast their votes. Their actions have revealed that democracy in the country has come to stay”.

“I urge them not to rest on their oars as their consistency in holding leaders accountable to their promises will go a long way in bringing out the best from the public office holders.

Mr. Adams was among notable personalities in the South-West opposed to Mr. Buhari’s election.

Shortly before the election, he organised a pro-Jonathan rally in Lagos which turned violent.

He promised to deliver six million votes to Mr. Jonathan, but he was unable to do so.

Nigerian To Die In Indonesia For Drug Trafficking

Local media report on Thursday in Jakarta, said another Nigerian, Simon Ezeaputa, has been sentenced to death in Indonesia for drug trafficking.

It said the district court in Tangerang, near Jakarta, on Wednesday found Ezeaputa guilty of controlling a drug transaction from his prison cell, where he was serving a 20-year jail term for drug offences.

The report said the transaction involved 350 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

With the latest development, more than 60 people are on death row in Indonesia for drug offences.

The report said Indonesia executed six drug convicts in January and was preparing to put to death another 10 death-row inmates.

It said these include two Australians who have been the subject of a diplomatic row between Jakarta and Canberra.

Meanwhile, the Amnesty International said in its annual report on the death penalty worldwide released on Wednesday that “Indonesia stood out for all the wrong reasons.”

Papang Hidayat, Head, Amnesty Researcher, Indonesia, said the death penalty was always a human rights violation.

He said there were many issues in Indonesia, in particular fair trial concerns, that make death sentences more complicated.

Hidayat said investigations by human rights groups have found that individuals sentenced to death have been tortured and forced to sign police investigation reports.

Alao-Akala Now Campaigns With Buhari's Picture

Chai! Success truly have many friends. Even those who insulted and mocked General Muhammadu Buhari are now identifying with him without shame. Just few days to the election, ex-PDP Governor Alao Akala said:

“…People are getting it wrong. Firstly, Buhari cannot rule this country because he is too weak. Forget the fact that he was once a soldier. Age is not on his side to do that. Secondly, it is a conglomerate of interests that have brought him up to be the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC). It was not his wish to be the candidate”.

Asari Dokubo Leads As Alleged "Militants" Line Up Behind Him (Photo)

I got a Call now and the Militants are claiming they are facing constant abuse by the same people that ganged up against them. They are threatening them, and so have decided to meet them at the battlefield. This is the reason I warned that our youths must be careful because the way Buhari supporters are abusing those that voted Jonathan might trigger "we no gree again." It is not a crime to vote for any candidate of your choice but our utterances may destroy Nigeria, and all those boasting Buhari will destroy this and that will realize that war is not as easy as they think.

The election has come and gone peacefully but post election comments suppose to douse tension, instead many youths want to set Nigeria on fire ignorantly through their utterances. They don't know the harm they are about to cause to Nigeria as a result of abusing and threatening other regions that voted Jonathan based on their convictions. Everybody must not vote for one candidate. You don't have the power yet.

Share How Your Ex-Boss Responded To Your Resignation

Hi NLers,

There's a feeling of satisfaction when as an employee who has just gotten a better employment offer, with Better Pay, Better working conditions.. present your resignation letter to your ex-managers.

Especially as a dedicated staff who has taken a lot of bullshyt from Bosses lol. The look on the faces of these Managers could be rewarding at that point.

This Happened to a colleague .. He was called in for a secret meeting. The management promised to give him a new car, send him for trainings abroad, increase his salary by 75percent if he withdraws his letter. Funny thing was that they strongly advised him not to disclose to any other member of staff. No documentation, No signed agreement.

As a wise person who has seen the Near and Far of the organisation in just 3 years, he humbly rejected their bogus promises and moved on.

South East loses out in producing Nigeria's next Senate President

According to political analysts, the South East has lost the opportunity of producing the next Senate President or the Speaker of the House of Representative in the Gen Buhari-led administration come May 29th. According to political calculations, anyone who is to occupy these positions must come from the ruling party. Since the number one and two positions have already been taken by Gen Buhari a Hausa man and Prof Osinbajo, a Yoruba man, the Ibos were favored to produce the third key official, the Senate President.

But with all the 15 senatorial seats in the South East states of Anambra, Abia, Imo, Enugu & Ebonyi won by the PDP in last week's elections, the Ibos may have lost out in producing the next Senate president. Senator Chris Ngige representing Anambra Central senatorial district who many believe was being positioned by the APC to be the next Senate President lost his bid to return to the Senate to PDP's Uche Ekwunife.

Buhari's Win Means Nigeria, Not Chad, To Lead Boko Haram Fight - Reuters

DAKAR (Reuters) - When Chadian troops occupied parts of northern Nigeria in the 1980s, Nigerian Major-General Muhammadu Buhari chased them back across the border in a show of strength months before he seized power in a military coup.

Thirty years later, the 72-year-old former strongman has returned as head of state, defeating incumbent Goodluck Jonathan at the ballot box this week, and once again seems determined to end Chad's presence on Nigerian soil.

Chad's battle-hardened troops have been a driving force behind a regional offensive against Boko Haram that has expelled the Islamist group from the major towns of northeast Nigeria in a matter of weeks.

Buhari, himself a Muslim from the north, branded President Goodluck Jonathan's reliance on Chad to suppress the insurgency before the election as a national disgrace. He has promised to restore the territorial integrity of Africa's most populous nation.

In his first speech since winning office, Buhari said he would spare no effort to defeat Boko Haram, which has killed thousands of people in its six-year-old campaign to carve out an Islamist caliphate in Nigeria.

His determination for Nigeria to wrest back the initiative may signal a check to a planned 10,000-strong regional force mandated by the African Union in January, meant to be headquartered in the Chadian capital N'Djamena.

With Buhari vowing to root out corruption and restore prestige to Nigeria's once-proud military, cooperation with neighbouring countries may return to the previous pattern of joint border patrols, rather than a multinational mission on Nigerian soil, analysts said.

"It's a national humiliation for Nigeria to see Chad doing the job of the Nigerian military and Buhari cannot accept that," said Marc-Antoine Perouse de Montclos, fellow at London-based think-tank Chatham House.

"That doesn't mean he'll stop international cooperation... but he'll try to leave the job of fighting Boko Haram with the Nigerian army."

In the long wait for Buhari's inauguration on May 29, the regional operation appears likely to continue. On Tuesday, Chad and Niger forces captured the border town of Malam Fatori, one of Boko Haram's last footholds – just as Buhari's election victory was confirmed.

Despite his nationalist rhetoric, Nigeria’s new president-elect was welcomed by West African capitals weary of Jonathan's long neglect of the Islamist uprising in an impoverished and sparsely populated corner of his country.

Senior army officers from Chad and Niger have denounced what they saw as a failure to cooperate by Nigeria, which launched its own separate offensive against Boko Haram. Without Nigerian troops alongside them to occupy liberated towns, Chadian troops have been obliged to retake some communities several times.

"It is impossible for Buhari not to do better than the previous government," Mohamed Bazoum, minister of state for the presidency in Niger, told Reuters. "He will be a good partner for us and I'm convinced that Nigeria will play an important role in eradicating Boko Haram."

CHAD’S DEBY WANTS MULTINATIONAL FORCE

Chad's President Idriss Deby, in an interview last week, called for the African Union force to be deployed quickly and said that the campaign against Boko Haram would take months to complete. He said the group could have as many as 20,000 fighters – far more than usually estimated.

Its revenues sapped by a slump in oil prices, Chad has led African calls for the United Nations to set up a trust fund to fight Boko Haram.

Deby, singled out as the 'Chadian Satan' by Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, expressed his country's continued willingness "to contribute to the stability of the subregion" in a letter of congratulations to Bujari on Wednesday.

Leaders from west and central Africa will discuss the fight against Boko Haram at a summit on April 8 in Equatorial Guinea, but Buhari is not expected to attend, a Western diplomat said.

With an easing of Boko Haram's stranglehold over trade routes to Chad – a main motivation for Deby’s intervention – the urgency for its military intervention has eased.

The regional offensive appears to have hurt Boko Haram's operational capacity. Despite pledges by Shekau to disrupt elections in the north, it carried out only minor attacks.

Yet since the killing of its founder Mohammed Yusuf in 2009 in police custody, Boko Haram has proved its ability to go to ground and regenerate.

Buhari’s plan to combat corruption in Nigeria’s armed forces, improve the pay and equipment of soldiers, and impose a clear chain of command from political leaders in Abuja, will take time, the Western diplomat said.

Any return to violence by disgruntled former militants in the oil-rich Niger Delta, the cradle of Jonathan’s support, would distract attention from fighting Boko Haram. With oil prices depressed, Buhari's government may have less scope than its predecessor to buy peace in the Delta, analysts say.

But Buhari's commitment on defeating the Islamists – coupled with his reputation for toughness and northern credentials – could play an important role in winning the collaboration of the northern population, estranged from Abuja by years of indifference and army abuses.

"Buhari has been in the military. He knows the ins-and-outs of the military and I believe he's going to do better than Jonathan," said Aminu Issa, a civil servant in the northern town of Kaduna, a flashpoint of religious tensions. "There will no longer be any Boko Haram.”

An increase in support from people in the battleground state of Borno - which voted massively for Buhari - could prove his most effective weapon in the war against Boko Haram.

"The people of Borno will look at Abuja as being supportive which was not the case up until now," said Perouse de Montclos. "For me, the main difference will be hope. Simply hope."

Tyga dumps Kylie Jenner after taking her virginity?

Lol. These foreign websites have no chill sometimes. Now they are claiming that 17 year old Kylie Jenner lost her virginity to 26 year old rapper Tyga and she may be carrying his child. Oh, and he's since dumped her. This report is according to HollywoodLife.com. Read below...

Tyga has put an end to his relationship with Kylie Jenner, according to a new report. The rapper apparently thought that things have moved too fast between him and his teen girlfriend, so he’s decided to move on.

Tyga, 25, has called it quits with Kylie, 17, according to a new report. These two have been dating on the down-low for a while — but now sources are allegedly saying he is throwing in the towel on the relationship after finding out some shocking news!

The “Rack City” rapper has allegedly broken up with the KUWTK star because, “things got way too serious,” which has scared him away, according to a new report from Life&Style. Additionally, the strain of having to hide their relationship due to their age difference allegedly created turmoil between the two.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Sources allegedly tell the magazine Kylie may be carrying Tyga’s baby. “The thought of Kylie being pregnant really scared the hell out of Tyga,” a source says tells the magazine. “She never saw the end coming.” While Tyga has allegedly ended things willingly, Kylie is apparently “devastated about the split.”

Man To Be Flogged 10 Times For Stealing Phone

Abuja - A Kado Area Court, Grade 1 in Abuja, on Wednesday ordered one Peter Bassey to be given 10 strokes of the cane for stealing a BlackBerry phone.

The Judge, Abubakar Sadiq, found Bassey guilty, after the accused pleaded guilty to a one-count charge of stealing.

Sadiq, however, warned Bassey to stay away from crime after he might have received his punishment.

The Judge said that he might not be lenient with the convict, if brought before him in future for a similar offence.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Cpl. Friday Idi, told the court that one Helen John of War College, on March 9, reported the case of theft at the Gwarimpa Police Station, Gwarimpa Estate, Abuja.

He said that the accused entered John’s shop in Gwarimpa and stole her BlackBerry Cell Phone valued at N35 000.

Idi said the offence contravened Section 287 of the Penal Code.
