PDP Warns Nigerians To Disregard Results On Social Media

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has advised Nigerians to disregard the misleading results circulating in the social media on the March 28 Presidential and National Assembly elections in some polling booths.

This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Olisa Metuh, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, in Abuja on Sunday.

According to him, the figures are fake.

“They do not represent the true results being collated by INEC, the only body authorised to release and announce election results,’’ he said.

Metuh further called on the people to be on guard and close ranks in resisting the plot to plunge the nation into chaos and anarchy.

He said the country`s democracy had come to stay, and that the will of the people must prevail over and above the parochial ambition of a selfish few.

He, however, cautioned the opposition against desperation and use of dishonest methods, including physical attacks on PDP members and its supporters, in order not to pose threat to the nation’s democracy. (NAN)
