Robin Van Persie Has passed A Medical At Fenerbahce

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has passed a medical at Fenerbahce, the Turkish club has confirmed.

The Netherlands international was mobbed on his arrival in Istanbul on Sunday, where he has now thrashed out details of his contract and completed a successful medical with final confirmation from the Prenier League side expected any time from now.

Fenerbahce have also confirmed that the official presentation of the 31-year-old striker will hold at the club’s Sukru Saracoglu stadium on Tuesday- opened to the general public and media.

Fener said on Thursday that they had began negotiations with United over the services of the former Arsenal striker, who has a year left in his contract.

Man United signed Van Persie from Arsenal in 2012 and he scored 26 goals to help the Red Devils win the Premier League title in his first season. Injury limited him to just 27 league matches and 10 goals last season.

He will become the second United player to join Fenerbahce this summer, after Portugal international Nani joined for £4.25m last week

Van Persie, who has scored 49 goals in 98 appearances for the Netherlands, joined Arsenal from Feyenoord in 2004 for £2.75m. He scored 132 goals in 278 appearances for the north London outfit.

The imminent sale of the Dutch striker would leave United with William Keane and Wayne Rooney as just two noticeable first-choice strikers.

United have signed Germany international Bastian Schweinsteiger, Dutch winger Memphis Depay, and Italian full-back Matteo Darmian.

Van Persie netted 58 times in 105 appearances for United
